  1. I'm with you, the DC9/MD80 was a workhorse short/medium haul airliner in the 1960s -90s. Would be great to have in the sim!
  2. Let's hope they don't wait too much longer. There have been a few GA aircraft released recently (e.g., Black Square Bonanza and Baron) that are of "nearly A2A quality"
  3. Seems as if we saw an announcement similar to this about a year or two ago.
  4. Having the same problem, but in my case the stutter only occurs if I am over a very busy airport or a TIN city.
  5. I also seriously doubt if the problem you have has anything to do with FS realistic. Have used it for months never any problem.
  6. Have you tried this in the JustFlight Archer? Could be that Carenado has not developed a realistic simulation of leaning in their Archer.
  7. Is this the same LFAT that's been on Flightsim.to for several months now? Or is this a new product?
  8. OK both are pretty good. So perhaps the main decision criterion should be coverage. Bing photogrammetry coverage is significantly less than Google.
  9. What is the steep approach airport where it lands in the beginning scene?
  10. Taking a well developed a/c visually (e.g. the default G36 Bonanza) and applying the FSRealistic effects addon, along with a Black Square systems level enhancement, and we seem to have a GA of close-to-A2A quality. So one might ask, what if there were more of these? Someone has already suggested in another post that the Carenado fleet, generally all planes of high visual quality, would be a promising group of a/c to apply this thinking. But we could end up with several duplicate high quality a/c. For example what if Black Square took on the Carenado V35, and in the meantime A2A releases it's MSFS2020 version of its own V-Tail. Would simmers be willing to buy both? I for example would then have three Bonanzas, two of them V-Tail models. Yes I would buy them all! Which leads to another general question: do simmers even care if they have redundant a/c? I think that currently we often have redundant a/c because we buy one, and it seems nice enough but lacks in systems depth, then another developer brings out the same a/c, and we buy it hoping it is higher quality system-wise. For example the Carenado and JustFlight PA28 Arrows. I think nearly all would agree that the JustFlight version was worth the additional purchase even though we may have also bought the Carenado version. In the Carenado/Black Square scenario we would be nearly guaranteed to have a very high quality a/c. I wanted to discuss this in more detail to get a feeling of how the response might be if Black Square and Carenado did in fact decide to go ahead with this. It seems that it could potentially provide additional revenue life for Carenado models that have gone stale. And it seems as if it could be good for Black Square as it requires existing a/c of high visual quality to work with. One possible drawback to the plan from a business plan pov, is that so far the Black Square enhancements have been applied to a/c with glass cockpits. So one of the marketing advantages is that apparently many simmers, myself included, just do not like glass cockpits - analog is all we have ever flown in real life and just cannot get used to the smaller, harder to read digital instrumentation. But most of the Carenados already have analog cockpits.
  11. Oops. OK. Let's hope this addon mod will help to make the Carenado craft more realistic.
  12. Did not even know this Beech 18 by Local Legend was out there. I love the Beech 18 and already have the Carenado version. Does anyone know how the two aircraft compare the Carenado and Local Legend versions?
  13. I bought the Bonanza and must say I am not disappointed. It's great!. and am looking forward to cashing in my 25% discount on the Baron when it comes out. A question on checklists: is the "default" MSFS checklist (which you can access in game from the on screen pull down menu items) for the Bonanza consistent with the one provided by JF?
  14. I haven't heard this before. What is the evidence/data that MSFS engine modelling is really poor?
  15. It's now 10:53 am here in the UK and just checked the JustFlight site and it continues to say "EMAIL ME WHEN AVAILABLE" Anxious!
  16. Good point. Why a DC4 when we already have a superb DC6. And a superb Lockheed Constellation. All superb aircraft, but very complicated and time consuming to fly properly. What seems to be missing are dual engine prop airliners, which to my mind are more suitable to Flight Simulator (throttle/mixture setup etc. not too hard with dual engine but very difficult with four engine. Not enough room to have throttle quadrants for 4 engine craft. ) Why not for example the Jetstream 4100, or a really good DC3, or the Convair 240 series ? The Convair 240 for example seems to have been completed ignored since FS4. This airliner had a brief but important role in short haul routes in the 1950's and was used by American Airlines, United Airlines, Western Airlines, Continental Airlines, Pan American Airways, Lufthansa, KLM, Swissair, Sabena, and Trans Australia Airlines and others?
  17. I had the Heron in FSX/P3D and wasn't that impressed with it. No systems real systems simulation/animation. Perhaps Flight Replica has upped its game to meet the quality demanded by the products we now have in MSFS2020.
  18. Looking forward to both. I have the Milviz Cessna 310, and yes it is very good, but there is something about the 310 that I have never liked. Have the Carenado V35 also, and have enjoyed it immensely. However, I assume the systems simulation on the Black Square Bonanza will be superior to the Carenado Bonanza.
  19. We have now been waiting for three years, and every November/December we think, surely it will be this Christmas or early next year? But yet another year goes by and we are still waiting. Good thing we didn't need this plane to send to Europe when WW2 broke out.
  20. Most beautiful airliner in MSFS? Lockheed Constellation without a doubt!
  21. Thanks for your comments, I'm sure you mean them to be helpful. I don't think my criticisms are particularly severe. It's just that after the general publicity preceding the update, expectations were set that the aircraft included would be "fit for purpose". Don't really care if they were free or not. Would be happy to pay for products that actually work. The DC3 looks great, but doesn't fly properly. I realize that this is just a hobby, but I think there are many of us who do not wish to spend too much wasted time if we know the product is in fact not really ready for release.
  22. A bit perplexed. Have applied both of the Flightsim.to mods and the plane seems to fly "better" alright. But are you saying that the AH plane as delivered by Asobo is in fact OK, and we just need to make sure we apply the correct take-off trim? Should I remove the mods? I have to say that if the basic model requires so many mods from the community, then AH was not up to the task to develop for Asobo, and their DC3 should never have been included in the anniversary update. Quality Control would be suspect here. The problem with the updates from the community is yes they make the plane "flyable" but are these mods based upon real knowledge of the way an actual DC3 flies? So I guess I will remove the community mods and go back to the basic enhanced Asobo model and try to make it fly properly.
  23. Easy. Go to Controls, change the direction of your trim wheel device for thus aircraft.
  24. Haven't seen much discussion on this. So far I have checked out the cockpit and notice that most switches and controls seem functional. Tried one flight, but had trouble setting the cockpit view so that I could both see the instruments and see out the windshield. Any observations on systems depth etc?
