  1. On my system unlimited resulted in blurred textures. Limiting it to 25 fps got rid of those blurries. Stutters while using photo scenery but livable. Nice for non-photo. i2500k OC'd to 3.6ghz, 8gb ram, nVidia 650ti boost at factory settings.
  2. Thanks for the informative reply. I understand now. I didn't realize the data files had to be changed to fit the newer sim's data reading format. I assumed they were just lat-longs with an altitude, (something like 58.955568, -48.573323, 1000) and the sim took care of the rest. I have Toposim Canada and like it very much. Looking forward to more...
  3. I don't know about their statement. I don't know what upgrade is needed to make mesh files 64 bit compatible. They are just data files. There's no assembly code in them. A byte of data is a byte of data regardless of the cpu speed or bits. Those mesh files could be read by an old IBM PC from the 80's without a problem. It's how FS processes them that makes the difference.
  4. CYYZ, a major international hub, has heavy international traffic from 2:30pm to 7:00pm (wide bodies). Regional traffic, Q400's - E170's - CRJ's, in the morning from 7:00am to 10:30am with scattered international traffic.
  5. I have it installed and using their files from 2007 to present and I see allot of traffic. Which airlines have you imported? Also, check for the correct AI aircraft models installed in Simobjects/airplanes. If they aren't there you won't see anything.
  6. It could be one of the aircraft lights. Try turning them off one at a time and see if it disappears.
  7. Sorry about that. Login is EMP999 and password is guest.
  8. I've used all three mentioned and VAM would be my suggestion, but not what I use. VAM is the more modern and clean looking system and seems to be more complete and the programmer is more attentive to his clients. phpVMS will require you to know some php and html if you want it to work with your ideas. Both will, for that matter, but more so with phpVMS. I wasn't happy with what was out there myself so I created one to fit my needs, but in order to do that, you need extensive knowledge of php. :-)
  9. Empyral is a twist on what you are used to in a VA. Rather than book a flight and fly it accumulating hours, you are in more control. You are a contracted pilot running your own subairline of Empyral. You choose where to fly from any place in the world, the type of aircraft, and create the routes. Your choices will affect your reputation and therefore, the number of passengers who want to fly with you. Make them happy and you will get more passengers and eventually upgrade your fleet, or not, the choice is yours. You can grow in a region or use the credits you earn to expand to other places in the world, or just remain small, there's no pressure. This concept is not for everyone. I designed it entertain myself, got some comments from testers and tweaked as I went. If you want to join a VA and be top dog in 1-2 months, this is not for you. It is possible, however, to grow an airport beyond it's current real world pax stats as a contractor. Feel free to come over and check it out. If you are interested, sign up from the About Us menu. You can log in with username guest and password guest to see what's available as a pilot. There is no requirement of online ATC, you can fly offline and report your hours, we don't use an annoying app to install and run in the background. It's strictly on the honour system. Therefore I hope to attract mature people who just like the hobby. It is a hobby at Empyral, not a job. There's no great reward for being top dog, no one will be coming to recruit you for British Airways, Air Canada, JAL, etc. Empyral is always expanding and new features are added by requests or ideas from my head. Currently, we support only passenger operations. A cargo division is on the horizon (by the end of 2016). You can use bizjet's in the current configuration but a dedicated bizjet operation will be added in the future. Finally, you can use any flight simulator you like, any version. http://www.empyralva.com Andrew Barter President Empyral
  10. Like you I was very nervous about spending money on P3D especially since the Canadian $ has took a nosedive. I bought it on the weekend and kicked myself for not getting into it sooner. Smoother graphics at higher settings. My add-ons look and feel so much better. I have installed AS A319-321, Carenado 1900D, Ultimate Terrain Europe V2, ASN, and FreeMeshX, plus a couple of freeware airports. All of those worked without a hiccup! ...and I will enjoy it until the credit card bill arrives at which time I suspect my wife will bar me from FS'ing... but until then... woohooo!
  11. Same here especially the guys and gals who spend hours upon hours on an airport mod with no reward deserves at least a thanks. Best wishes to you all.
  12. I used to have this problem. I removed my sound blaster card used the onboard sound and the problem went away.
  13. Hilarious and cool at the same time.
  14. I'm looking for a few people to try out the system I've come up with. Instead of being a pilot you are a contractor so you get to make more decisions than the standard VA. The routes are predefined but you choose the aircraft to use. The passenger loads you get depend on your reputation which you build over time by being on time or by using the credits you earn to advertise. Check it out and drop me an email at ab@empyralva.com. http://www.empyralva.com Andrew Barter President Empyral VA
  15. Empyral announces new division, ACMI, which is an acronym for Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance. Starting February 1, Empyral will be taking contracts from various sources for short periods of time. These will be for special events or to help an airline fill a gap while their aircraft are being repaired or due to a delay during delivery, etc. Andrew Barter President http://www.empyralva.com
  16. I found it while surfing the other night, too. Delightful surprise! I hope it stays on and they include camera views from the aircraft tail.
  17. I'll be one of the first to get the 1900 from Carenado. I've been flying the PMDG one for years. Can't wait for a more modern and complete 1900D.
  18. I like a little humour in this hobby of ours. Recently, I booked a flight for my VA from RPVM to RPVP in the Philippines. I changed my mind and decided I wanted to go to RPMD which is a couple hundred nm from RPVP. However, I forgot to cancel my booking and rebook for RPMD. Much to my surprise, as you can imagine, I (the VA) was hit with a $190,000 charge to take the passengers to RPVP upon my arrival at RPMD. Too bad, it was one of the sweetest touchdowns I did recently, too. :-)
  19. Speaking as the CEO of Empyral Airlines, I have set the rule of no accelerated time because we use VAFS's financial system. It's a great system that emulates costs associated with flying and added "realism" of running an airline. VAFS allows accelerated time but there is a penalty termed "transportation costs". When you fly accelerated your profit drops signicantly as the transportation costs climb exponentially and it's easy to go into the negative if you fly for an hour in accelerated. I hate this but... I had to make a choice. Fly without the "corporate" realism that I so desired for years OR do without and allow accelerated. I'm trying it for 6 months to see how it goes. To make up for this I schedule widebodies on short routes of less than 2 hours so that our pilots can still use their favorite 747, 777, A3xx aircraft. I, too, don't have 8 hours to spare for a flight. However, you can, through a little trick, stop a flight and continue it later. Also, I don't require VATSIM or IVAO. Most of the time there's no coverage for the area's I flew in anyhow so I dropped that idea. I'm hoping that compromise will attract pilots to my VA. So far... not so good. I have a feeling I will end up going without the VAFS system in the spring unless the new version they are introducing eliminates the penalty of accelerated time. Just my two cents worth from the CEO side of virtual flying and why some of us make those decisions.
  20. The timing was bad due to the disaster in this area, but we have opened the Philippine hub in Cebu. My wife is from the affected area so I postponed opening the hub until we made contact with her family, who are fine. Come on over to Empyral and fly out of our many hubs. We now have hubs in Madrid, Sao Paolo, Toronto, Miami, and Cebu! Our fleet consists of Boeing and Airbus aircraft plus the Dash 8 Q400. FSX, FS9, and X-Plane are supported by the VAFS network we are part of. Andrew Barter http://www.empyralva.com
  21. Not until the license can be obtained legally for "entertainment". I'll be all over it if that happens. -1
  22. Every now and then I take a break from FSX. It's not that I don't like it or I'm bored it's just that something else takes interest, like creating music as you do, or I just need a change from the same daily routine that I fall into. You know... eat, work, eat, work, eat, fsx, sleep and repeat. I take a break for a week or so and then go back into it and find it fun all over again. To make it more interesting try learning about the places you fly too or check them out on Google Earth while you are at cruise level. I would get bored with flying in one area, too. I'm all over the world throughout the year.
  23. TropicalSim's Sao Paolo Congonhas. Challenging airport. Some sneaky scenery designing required at the runway ends as the airport is on a plateau. They've captured the feeling of the airport.
  24. Empyral announces the opening of the Miami passenger hub. Routes from KMIA are to the USA, Caribbean, Central America, and South America. The Cargo operations will commence from Miami before November 1 using the 777 and one other aircraft type that is to be decided upon over the next few days.
