  1. It's Umberto from FS Dreamteam's 50th birthday today so over at the FSDT site there is 50% off ANY product for today only, 3rd September. The code is at the following link http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,16447.0.html Cheers
  2. Nice, thanks for the heads-up, I've been hoping for a sale having already spent a few quid on upgrading planes and things for P3Dv4, and was really missing decent weather, but this is a nice little saving! Cheers
  3. I really like it even though it is lacking ground traffic and clutter, and some of the terminal textures were not brilliant however, a service pack is ready soon which adds in the much needed traffic/clutter and they've done a lot of work to add higher resolution terminal textures, glass, ground textures, optimization etc. Previews of the service pack here: http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/133031-ftx-essa-service-pack/ and the most recent preview here: http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/139495-essa-stockholm-arlanda/ One thing still being implemented and won't be in the service pack is moving jetways but, I still enjoy the airport and the previews look good. Cheers
  4. Indeed, great timing as I was about to buy Innsbruck LOWI and it was sat in the basket at full price while I was looking at other airports when I had a quick look at Facebook and saw the announcement. Needless to say I quickly removed it from the basket and re-added at the reduced price :)
  5. Orbx have knocked 48% off download content released before 1st July '17. Sale ends 22nd August. https://orbxdirect.com/
  6. Nice set of shots, and sounds a good fun route too; think I'll try it myself. Great plane, I've not flown anything else since release day. Cheers!
  7. Flytampa price of 28 is without VAT, once that was added at the checkout it came to same amount as the Simmarket price for me in the UK. I bought from flytampa to give them more of my cash but also it was only just released so wasn't on sale at simmarket when I bought it on Sunday. Cheers
  8. I've only had time for a quick look round as I wanted to get a quick flight in before time ran out so did an NGX flight from Taxi2gate EDDM to EHAM. I did the default install which is high-res textures only around the immediate area of the terminals; from Flytampa site you can get a high-res textures pack or low-res pack. I only enabled the apron vehicles, there is also options for extra road traffic including a major motorway nearby. I'm running an i5 3570k clocked to 4.8, gtx970 4gb, on a 27" lcd monitor. FSX-SE, Add-ons used were the PMDG NGX, orbx global, orbx OPENLC Europe, ASN, REX soft clouds, Pro-ATCX, and WOAI traffic set at 46%. It was a bit of a pea souper landing with the heavy fog and just about nightfall so lots going on. VAS stayed just under 3.5GB, fps was averaging around 20, which I'm used to around heavy hitters like FlyTampa Toronto,Sydney, Copenhagen etc UK2000 EGLL, et al. Generally it's reasonably smooth which works for me in having a nice amount of traffic and decent amount of eye candy. In short I really like it and look forward to getting some more flights in and out of there and have a good look round. Cheers
  9. Just found it on the Flytampa site for sale for FSX/P3D, downloading now. 2 files; 1 at 314MB,2nd at 1.8GB http://www.flytampa.org/eham.html
  10. Flying it now from Birmingham EGBB to Istanbul LTBA, looks fantastic! Many thanks John Cheers
  11. Just to clarify for those not in the know, my earlier post was referring to a special offer available only within the first month of release of the upcoming Melbourne v3 airport update whereby all existing owners of v1 and v2 of Melbourne can purchase the upgraded airport for AU$9-95 (stated by JV in the Melbourne YMML update thread over on the ORBX forums). Hence, it was cheaper for me to buy and enjoy v2 now at sale price until v3 is released (JV suggested mid-year if not sooner) then pay the 9-95 upgrade soon as possible.
  12. I bought Melbourne now on the basis that I am willing to purchase the upgrade within one month of release at the offer of AU$9-95, which on top of the sale price of 21-95 is still a saving over the current full price of 34-95; furthermore, with the upcoming price increase in June and assuming v3 won't be available before then it'll work out to be an approx $8 saving over what will be the new full price of 39-95. And in the meantime I've got a YMML I can enjoy.
  13. What price you see depends on what country of residence you have set on the Simmarket site; for me, in the UK, the price with the 20% VAT we have to pay on top comes to €23-40. If I set the US or Australia as my country of residence I get shown the €19-50 price Cheers
  14. Cracking shots, they've inspired me to do that flight tonight, I haven't yet checked out the cargo spots at Orbx Arlanda, really is a great scenery. Cheers!
  15. Glad you've asked; I too noticed what I thought was ice on a flight to Warsaw but then couldn't be sure if it was simply as you describe in that it normally looks like that and it's just that I've never paid close attention to that area of the windscreen in the past.
  16. I have a few including Birmingham, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Luton, Heathrow, Gatwick, London City and Leeds-Bradford. I like all of them and they all get even amount of use. East Midlands gets used a lot for cargo ops. London City is great fun due to its challenging approaches, really good fun in the A318. I can't comment on Heathrow vs Aerosoft's latest version, I've only ever used Gary's version. The Aerosoft one does look nice but, given that both versions are heavy on fps and VAS, any perceived gains in looks couldn't justify buying the same airport again. Someone else here may be able to give a more qualified view on both, but I've got no complaints with the UK2000 version. Demo versions are available for many of the airports so I'd recommend you try them out to see what you like the look of, I've always do that before buying.
  17. Gary Summons has started his Xmas sale on his UK2000 airports. Single airport has 25% discount, 2 airports get 30% off and 4+ airports get 40% off. The 25% discount is already applied to the prices on the Purchase page; select more than one airport and the further discounts are applied to the basket automatically. I don't know when the sale ends, there's nothing yet stating that which I can see on the site. http://www.uk2000scenery.com/newsite/My_Homepage_Files/Page13.html
  18. No you don't need to purchase NavData Pro; I use my Navigraph subscription for updates. If you use Navigraph's FMS Data Manager for applying new airacs to all your add-ons then a refresh of the add-on list should find your installation of PFPX, if not you can add it manually. Cheers
  19. I really like Southampton airport, it is very nicely modelled and is good for GA (I like to take the Turbine Duke in and out of there) and also perfect for regionals. I often fly the Dash8 from there and also the baby Airbuses like the A319 can be used. If you want just GA then I think Shoreham is nice, and a real fave due to its interesting approach over trees is Fairoaks within spitting distance of Heathrow. Although you don't mention Scotland, if you did get it then Sumburgh in the Shetland Isles is a fantastic airport, can make for challenging approaches and looks great with its photoreal surrounding scenery. I find they run quite nicely on my aging machine, an i5 3570k clocked to 4.5GHz and ancient gtx 550ti.
  20. Ray, I've had the same issue for a week now, on Chrome, Firefox and IE11. Same as you, I'm in the UK. Cheers, Stu
  21. Great shots, I really enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing!
  22. One of the admins on Orbx forums responded to a query on how you could get a performance increase when filesize and texture resolution is considerably larger than the originals by stating that "The performance gain doesn't come from the textures, it comes from optimized models. Many (or all, I'm not positive) of the models have half the drawcalls and 2/3 the polygons of the original trees that shipped with FSX.". You can read the response yourself in a topic entitled "Trying to understand the why there is an improvement in performance[sic]" in the General Discussion forum. Their forum is still down but my tablet had cached the page from when I was reading it earlier today allowing me to type the quote above. Edit; just emailed myself the url http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/96082-trying-to-understand-the-why-there-is-an-improvement-in-performance/
