  1. Its not just the assistance settings that change back to default, it scrubbed the input settings for my Logitech Attack 3 joystick as well, and actually does it every time I try to run this dratted sim/game. So have uninstalled it, and gone back to P3d. Thats more reliable, looks a lot better with the v5 version as well. 😬
  2. Nah. You can tell with the shape of it and the other liveries that its just the old FSX version. πŸ˜…
  3. Great it was, just flown it NW from Phoenix, Arizona for a while. The sound of the old Dakota in MSFS! 🧐
  4. Forgot to mention the glazing on the cockpit windows doesn't want to show itself. πŸ˜‡
  5. Its the old FSX one. Here: https://www.msfsaddon.com/2021/05/msfs2020-douglas-dc-3-freeware-aircraft.html Overspeed ribbon always seems to show, but correct speed is shown, prop condition levers work ok, cowl flaps can be changed with keyboard shortcuts. Aliased to King Air cockpit. Have'nt tried it with a flightplan yet. Its one of the few engine sounds I don't mind listening to! Nice 😊
  6. Here is Squirrel's video of a test he's done - from access Microsoft gave him to an X-Box version of MSFS: (60 FPS at 4K)πŸ™‚
  7. P3d v5.2 now has three different weather modes. The newest one, is that you can have EA (Enhanced Atmospherics) turned on, but if you turn down the 'Volumetric Clouds' slider to 'Off', the legacy clouds will then appear. So, turning off these EA FPS killer clouds (and their lack of visual definition - always bright) and having the older clouds should pump up your fps. I also have the add-on REX Sky Force, which adds much nicer cloud textures, and the two combined - REX and EA.....it looks great. πŸ˜ƒ
  8. I have similar problem to this original poster, I uninstalled p3d completely, and then deleted the remaining files. (Everything in the Program Files> Lockheed Martin folder) Then re-installed the whole package, but now, with Enhanced atmospherics on, and clouds set to Ultra, the FPS is down to about 12, when in the previous version of p3d I was getting 40 fps. Have a new AMD 5600x processor, and that has worked wonders to turn up the sliders to the max, but now, thats all gone now. If I put the clouds resolution back one notch below ultra the FPS goes up to about 20 or so FPS. Also, if I turn off Enhanced atmospherics, the FPS goes back up to 40 FPS. (have the FPS limiter set to 40) Someat wrong here methinks. Its a shame as well because the enhanced atmospherics look really good........but only if you can set the clouds to the ultra setting! They (Lockheed Martin) must not have tested this new version enough.πŸ˜ͺ
  9. Have done a complete clean uninstall and re-install with this new version, and the FPS is absolutely awful. 12 FPS flying the Maule in Utah. I'll put everything back to default again for my next flight and start from there again.
  10. The GPU scaling option might only be applicable to graphics cards over a certain tier. The GPU scaling option is within the Image Sharpening window.
  11. This youtube video helped me a lot to really get everything pin sharp, although I use a 2K monitor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-_o4ODGDj4 Also, in the NVIDIA control panel there is a sharpness setting. Right click on your desktop, select NVIDIA control panel > Manage 3D settings > Image Sharpening > On, Sharpen: 0.50 (slider) Ignore film grain: 0.17 , click on GPU scaling. Should help hopefully. πŸ˜ƒ
  12. "We performed some optimization for the initial full download of the title so the base game is only 83GB instead of +170GB" WHAT!! They have brought down the initial file size for the whole game/sim by half! Talk about bloatware...huh! Maybe it'll run better now? πŸ₯Ί
  13. There never were any extra liveries for any of the default aircraft. Shows how unfinished this sim was when introduced to us really!
  14. I agree. A320 autopilot now unusable after last patch. Cessna Cj4 autopilot and speed display gives up the ghost at altitude. Lots more things wrong as well, especially with the jets. And these things won't be addressed until the ninth update? Too many MSFS fans here, its only the GA aircraft that are reasonably flyable now. Its one step forward, and two steps backwards with this sim/game. I feel like I've been had!πŸ˜’
  15. Wonder if there might be some liveries at last? Maybe thats what: Aircraft updates meant? 😐
  16. Its definitely smoother, just made a short flight from KLCK Columbus, Ohio to KIND Indianapolis Intl in the TBM, and couldn't believe how smoother it was, still stuttered a bit here and there, but not the mess it was from first install, to yesterday. Don't know what they've done, but its as if some blockage was removed!😊
  17. Digital Foundry on their youtube channel have a NVIDIA 3080 which they have tested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWD01yUQdVA
  18. Does anyone actually know what the keystroke/s are to take a screenshot? And in which folder the screenshots are saved to? ThanksπŸ˜‰
  19. This improved things for me with a Nvidia GTX1060 and i7 Processor, the c172 flying from Detroit - the fields weren't stuttering anymore as they went under the plane. Hopefully Microsoft/Asobo will work to refine this sim, otherwise I don't really want to use it like this.....graphics card is so noisy!.
  20. Whats the point of having new landing challenges if the joystick inputs are over sensitive all the time. The only aircraft that is a bit more normal is the Robin DR400, which Asobo spent extra time on refining. Needs more refining in particular areas this sim, before moving on to other grandiose stuff!
  21. Yeah, my flight in the A320 with a flightplan was very stuttery compared with a free flight. Could always just use the 'ol compass!
  22. If you use that key combination when flying with realtime weather the weather will vanish, and you will have clear skies all the time with a 3 knot wind, its a bug supposedly, so you may still have to use the function in the graphics section.πŸ™‚
  23. There's no mute sound key either that 'Q' used to be, I would use that for listening to youtube music videos while flying.
  24. If you press Alt & Enter to put the sim into a windowed mode, and you are playing with real time weather, that will make the weather disappear, you'll have to put it into windowed mode from the graphics menu. Another bug supposedly.πŸ™‚
