  1. Hi Folks, Today I googled to see if there is another scenery of Tan Son Nhat airport (VVTS) other than the Thai Creation representation for... FS2004. And I've come across Viet Sim Scenery a developer who has released recently a couple of vietnamese airports. For the price (less than 10 USD) sure those are not high-end sceneries. Additionnally, many screenshots are by night so we don't see clearly. But I might consider buying one airport because I'd love to have an international vietnamese airport. Anyone have bought an airport from them?
  2. There is a Doha Hamad airport by Taxi2Gate. The product sheet says "FSX P3D". In the customer reviews, a user reported in 2019: "This works great in P3Dv4". There are chances that it works in V5 but it's not guaranteed.
  3. My understanding is that Fsaerodata updates the stock P3D navdata (eg. ILS frequency). If one flies to and from only up to date 3rd party airports, then fsaerodata is not needed.
  4. Thanks Stewy for the explanation.
  5. fsaerodata is stopping its activities because of MSFS? The rationale is that people who used to buy fsaerodata subscription do not anymore because they are switching to MSFS?
  6. Hello folks, I got V5 last week and with the same settings as V4.5, I have not observed a noticeable performance gain as the vast majority of V5 users. Then I read about the VRAM. My system: i5 4670K @4.3 Ghz - 32 Gb DDR3 - GTX 1080 8 Gb - 2K Monitor @165 Hz G-Sync - Win10 x64 1. Noob question: I know that my GTX has 8 Gb of memory. Is that the VRAM? 2. If so, I have the minimum VRAM required? 3. And finally, does the VRAM has an influence on: a) Crashs/stability? b) Performance/fluidity? c) Both?
  7. Former Real Air Simulations was also specialist of crystal clear gauges. Besides they were pioneer in fluid analog gauges movement in the days of FS2004/FSX.
  8. A2A aircrafts gauges are super clear IMHO but they are not turboprop AFAIK. Me too I am fan of super clear vc panel. Agree with you Peter, regarding PMDG and Aerosoft bus regarding gauge clarity.
  9. I think it's related to SODE. https://sode.12bpilot.ch/?topic=red-cross
  10. At this time essentially an improved performance and in some extent better graphics. That is what the majority of folks who migrated to V5 report. Now my personal experience is that I did not see significant performance gain and additionally I get blurry VC issue which I could not solve. So I think I'll stay on 4.5 and see how it goes for the future V5 updates.
  11. Within the V4 series, agree with you. I see no reason to stay below 4.5
  12. For example they dont have the money to invest in a new P3D license + addons, and/or all in all they are happy with their version. It's that simple. Similarly you have folks still using FS9 and FSX.
  13. Maybe some are still using P3Dv4.4 or less for whatever reason, but I believe it is a minority.
  14. Hi Pete, Tthank you for your additional feedback and the Taxi2Gate LFPG tip, good news. I'm a little conservative so I like that the compatibility be officially announced by the scenery developer. But look, if it works in P3Dv5, then it works, even without the dev announcement. I need 2 other airports from Pacsim (Taiwan RCTP and Philippines RPLL) but I'll check directly with the developer or try by myself. I just need to solve a virtual cockpit blurriness issue, buy FSUIPC 6 (I have version 5) and ASP3D upgrade for V5, and I'm good to go 🙂
  15. Hi Dan, Time is not infinite and I confess I can be lazy. I let the sceneries install in the folders suggested by the installer. I'll see if I rethink that. Thanks for you feedback on Vector in V5.
  16. Of course there is no official statement but the more I think about it, the more I am convinced it will be a 787. It has to be a Boeing because it is the expertise of PMDG. It has to be a best-seller in the real world and in the sim. The fact that there is already the QW 787 will not prevent PMDG to sell a 787 because they are not playing in the same field. As an example, see FSL and Aerosoft for the A320.
  17. Happy to hear I'm not alone. And I'm with you. I installed V5 yesterday and I also consider that aside of a little fps gain in my case and a simpler user interface, v5 is not there yet (EA, colours...) but not very far. Add to that the fact that some of my favourite airports (eg. LFPG) have not been ported yet to V5 or will never be. So at this time V4.5 will remain my main sim. However, I'll monitor closely how V5 evolves.
  18. Thanks Bob for your feedback and for the valuable PFPX tip. I'll use it since I have PFPX too. However for sceneries I'll reinstall since I don't want to learn the XML thing or Lorby addon. Two more questions: 1) I have FSUIPC 5 and use it 'actively' only for joystick / keys assignments. Do I absolutely need to buy FSUIPC 6? EDIT : ok I found that I have to buy FSUIPC 6 2) I have OrbX Base, LC and Vector. I'll reinstall Base and LC. As i understand I don't need to install Vector since in V5, the coastlines, etc are more precise. Correct?
  19. Hello folks, I'm on going to buy v5. I already have v4 on a SSD. v5 will be installed on that same SSD, but in a different folder of course. Is there any attention point to avoid messing sceneries, aircrafts, utilities or whatever? In other words, are there some best practices for v4 and v5 to cohabit peacefully dans seamlessly? Thanks.
  20. Can you elaborate shortly the limitations please?
  21. Hi Bryan and team, As you may know, the PMDG 777-200ER will probably be released by the end of the month. Source PMDG : click here I wonder if FS2Crew for the 777 will work as is for the new 777-200ER addon? Or does it require some adaptation? And please let me know if I can pass your answer to pilot fellows on the PMDG forum?
