  1. My most recent windows update caused my P3D to want to be reactivated. Have no idea why
  2. Hi, Is there a way to show the airspace altitudes on the elevation profile so you can see the atc control zones altitude on your flight plan as you would fly through or how to avoid? Thanks
  3. I get long pauses when flying low, not necessarily on approach anywhere, straight and level about 100-5k ft above this smooth and maxed on frames. I get it most flying around the orbx regions which I have global, vector, regions and true earth working where i fly and get pauses. Initially thought it was the auto save pause but found huge improvement in that when added to firewall and AV permissions. I've read that i should disable orbx regions and/or vector but I love the looks.
  4. There was one at Cosford the last two years. Check the flight sim show website if it's still live for presenters. It was about £7k though.
  5. Hi. Can anyone give a guide how to use the xml method for orbx? Due to size of the TE stuff I was hoping to put my orbx files onto another drive to be called by P3D so I don't eat my entire sim HDD up with all my orbx stuff. Thanks in advance.
  6. No problem. Might sit tight and pay more attention to the guys setup at Cosford this year. Will report any new developments.
  7. Wow. Thanks for your reply. Looks like choppers aren't to popular here.
  8. Hi. Anyone got any ideas or pictures how I could make a collective lever to start to learn how fly helicopters? I've got a joystick and saitek rudder pedals. I saw a guy a Cosford flying a helicopter with a simple joystick, rudder pedals and a length of drain pipe, but I didn't see what the drain pipe was controlling or what bit of kit it was connected too. Thanks
  9. James is trackhat. If you have Chaseplane you need to use freetrack otherwise simconnect should be ok. On the second tab I think there is a slider that you slide to the lowest point you can still see three dots. Too low it goes nuts, too high it only sees two dots. Took me about 10 minutes to set up. The threshold sliders just adjust how the fast the headset should track based on your movement, this takes the most time to set up.
  10. Email James your problem, he's excellent at support. There is no profiles to install as each person's setup is specific and you need it adjusted to your environment. It takes some time to configure but once there, it is very good and comparable to the leading brand. If its a wireless one keep it on charge when not in use as it drains whilst not in use and weak when you come to use it.
  11. I find sensitivity is improved by way of accuracy with FSUIPC and with this you can also set a custom range so 90% of controller movement can relate to 100% in sim. FSUIPC is the way forward with controllers if you have it
  12. I has this with a usb sennheiser headphones and there support was outstanding. Solved the problem by giving the headphones a motherboard usb port rather than off a hub and increasing the power available by powering off other items. And the obligatory driver reinstall. I suggest you check to see if you are borderline on your power and give it a root usb port
  13. Is there a way you can dynamically switch HT on and off in windows? So when I run other apps I can HT on and P3D off? Also can you leave HT on but AM it to just physical cores? I.e AM a HT enabled CPU to a non HT CPU spoofed
  14. I have little adhesive bumps which i apply bumps like Braille so I know what keysbare which when the headset is on. Not perfect but does the major buttons
  15. I've just landed a Samsung 40" 4k tv. It's perfect as it's just big enough to be slightly oversize without it being too big. I did my research at Cosford FS show and I found no benefit from curved opposed to flat and also so no performance difference between a good TV and monitor that you would see. Tv's are cheaper than monitors in the larger size and just because it can do UHD resolutions doesn't mean you can't use it in 1080 HD until later you get graphics Card that will run UHD, although my 1070 just ran pmdg737 at uk2000 Stansted, at night with dynamic lighting on and ultimate traffic live in full UHD and I was getting 9fps at worst and 15 best. I would buy a Tv and have many options!
  16. Orbx tend to have a Christmas sale or possibly black Friday sale. They offer anything up to 50% off. Anything released in last 30 days gets excluded. Santa Barbara will probably make Christmas sale but with 25-30% off. Use the sales to get your regions. They are all awesome imho. Airports tend to be cheaper and are improved when you have the region too
  17. Really good, very smooth. Would make an excellent promo video for that aircraft. Captions remind me a little of Pilotseye YT videos
  18. I'm a third of the way on an around America tour with a TBM850 which is turboprop and fast and can fly high or low so you can see all that expensive orbx scenery you've bought and quickly too.
  19. Its back doing it again. I've now read somewhere that if I completely power the PSU off, when I turn on and hit start the PC needs to re-train the RAM and MoBo voltages. Anyone know if this is true?
  20. Thanks for your reply. I've hit reset to defaults in bios and it has stopped pausing on start-up. Wonder now if it was a drives order issue.
  21. Hi, Have a strange problem. I have a custom built PC which I've used an Asus Z370F Gaming Mobo, 8700K CPU and Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000 Every time I hit the power button the system lights up, starts up and then stops. Starts up again but boots to an "F1 to continue" BIOS stop. It reports seeing 2 keyboards which is what I think is the fault and I've no idea how to stop it. I've tried swapping keyboards, leaving it out (causes a normal F1 stop) different USB ports. Nothing stops the system seeing 2 keyboards. I have a Element Gaming mechanical, LED illuminated keyboard and I've read that the power draw can sometimes cause this, also the anti ghosting for the keys makes a "virtual" keyboard which is also seen by BIOS as a secondary keyboard. Anyone got any ideas how to stop this? Even if I override the F1 setting from pause to continue it defaults back to pause. Thanks!
  22. Think tomato has some recommendations for the orbx lights configuration.
  23. Does this comment relate back to this thread too? If so I've found no relief from the shaking on the ground or in the air when turning off momentum effect. I don't think its an AM thing.
