  1. Hellow guys! I am having an issue with the 737 FMC. I can understand that the terrain on copilot side is inhibited for better performance but I don’t know why the FIX doesn’t either work. For example I am in the Copilot’s CDU FIX page and i am entering the FIX(AB,USA or whatever). As soon as i click on the L1 button,it returns back to the FIX page without any fix. But meanwhile it works normal on the Cap’s CDU. and besides,I can not type anything into the FMC by using my keyboard although I do click on the scratchpad and it shows up the green edge which means I am suppose to type in with my keyboard. But it just doesn’t work... So I click on the TAB key which usually deactivate the co pilots scratchpad but it doesn’t either work, the green edge still remains
  2. LINDA 3.3.5 provides compatibility with the new Prepar3D v5 (P3Dv5) 64-bit flight simulator and FSUIPC6 6.1.7 or later. It can also be used with Prepar3D v4.x using FSUIPC6. This update contains ONE fix that not all users will need. See note below. This release requires a registered version FSUIPC6 6.1.7 or later to work. It is no longer compatible with FSUIPC5 or FSUIPC4 and all existing 32-bit flight simulators (FSX, FSX-SE and P3Dv3.4) - use LINDA 3.1.1 instead Changes This release maintains internal changes to support development and distribution. This version provides compatibility with the VRInsight CDU2 and CDU3 panels. Special thanks go to Nicolas Hutter for his inspiration and invaluable contribution for this new CDU development. Otherwise, this version the same functionally as LINDA 3.2.6. The following key changes have been made to the LINDA GUI and core functionality: Fixed issue with configuration file load errors with unexpected symbol (3.3.5). See note below. Fixed issue with Multi Panel Glideslope mode (3.3.4). Fixed issue with Multi Panel Height units in GUI (3.3.4). Fixed FSUIPC version number displayed (3.3.4). Added Extras for creating special aircraft module builds (Developer only) (3.3.4). Added additional error trapping (3.3.4). Added extra error trapping (3.3.3). Added check for Registered copy of FSUIPC (3.3.2). Fixed LINDA sounds (3.3.2). Fixed error loading MCP2 configuration (3.3.1). Added VRInsight CDU2 and CDU3 functionality including presets for most popular Airbus and Boeing aircraft (3.3.0). Added Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and TCA joysticks (3.3.0). ****************************************************************** IMPORTANT NOTICE This release addresses an issue some users have experienced with an error caused by an unexpected symbol found when loading certain configuration file (config-sys.lua and config-hid.lua). The previous fix referred to Language Support and UTF-8. The release may cause some initial errors when LINDA is loaded. Users should check the fsuipc6.log (in LINDA Console) for errors like: [E] ** LUA Error: error loading module 'linda-cfg/system/config-sys' from file ... unexpected symbol near 'i' In such cases should force a save of config-sys.lua by clicking twice on SYNC TO SIM and of config-hid.lua by selecting Joystick page and assigning Do nothing to one empty button and clicking save. This may need to be done for each aircraft used. After these actions users should not experience any further issues. ****************************************************************** Installation The installation differs from previous LINDA versions and care should be used to achieve the correct installation. First install P3Dv5 to a directory of your choice before installing the latest version of FSUIPC6 (version 6.x or later). It is strongly recommended that FSUIPC6 is installed in a root directory, eg: F:/FSUIPC6 You can tick both P3Dv5 and P3Dv4 boxes during the FSUIPC6 installation. There should also be a folder /FSUIPC6 in the Prepar3d v5 add-ons/ folder containing a single add-ons.xml file directed at the installed folder. Un-zip the folder and copy all files and folders into the above folder created above. Answer Yes to all overwrite requests and tick the apply to all boxes. The correct installation should look like: /FSUIPC6 /linda /linda-cfg FSUIPC6.dll FSUIPC6.ini FSUIPC6.key ipcReady.lua linda.exe linda.lua You can copy your existing fsuipc5.ini and rename it fsuipc6.ini. You can also copy your old /linda/aircrafts and /linda-cfg/aircrafts folders with all LINDA settings to the FSUIPC6 folder created above. Similarily, any .MCRO files should be copied into the same FSUIPC6 folder. Limitations This release to provide improved compatibility with FSUIPC6 and P3Dv5. A number of limitations and issues still exist and the cause(s) is being investigated: Some Access Violation error message may be reported if the installation location and files are incorrect. Report the LINDA version and build number (on About page eg. 3.2.1.942) and the error address (eg. 007F7123). Please read the enclosed release notes for all details for correct installation and on new features. All issues and problems should be reported on the LINDA Support sub-forum. 3. It took me a while, but I finally broke down to hand over $70 for this plane. I'm speechless. The detail and dynamics of this plane are simply outstanding. The HUGS display is a great feature as well. I do have a few questions though, having only owned this plane for a few hours. First, does the altitude hold (on the auto-pilot panel) override the VNAV path? I found a few times during a KLAX-KLAS run that the plane missed it's TOD and some other crossing restrictions; however, I have a feeling it's because the altitude hold restricted it from descending further. Second, does an accidental knock of the joystick override the LNAV. A few times the LNAV popped off, probably by me subconsciously pushing on my joystick.Third, does this plane have a "direct" function? For ex, ATC gives a short cut to a fix that isn't my next fix. Fourth, I've heard of a "descend now/present position" function. Where is this, and how is this applied?I'd appreciate any responses. Thanks and happy holidays.Kyle
  4. Hello everyone!!I want to use android phone as a touch panel CDU by using idisplay.I installed idisplay in my PC and android phone. They work properly, except PMDG.I drag the CDU window and move to android phone, then the window become blank....Dose somebody knows the countermeasures??
  5. Good evening, I am using P3D v4.1 and have recently loaded the Carenado Citation 525 Cj2, the Premier 1A, and the King C90 GTX into V4.1. However, I am having an issue trying to input a flight plan into the Proline system. I am not able to input an Origin or Destination or any other information using the CDU. When I press the LSK next to the Origin or Destination, nothing happens. I have gone by the instructions so I am thoroughly confused as to the issue. I wanted to check with the forums first before I uninstalled and re-installed the aircraft again. Any help would be appreciated...thanks! Marcus
  6. Good day, Yesterday i was trying to setup the Vrinsight CDU via keywords. I did it fine with Right and Left lines selectors and Functions but i can't do it with the Alphanumeric keys. With the FMS Functions i used from 0 to 15 in the command parameter, but what should i use to receive a letter or number with FMS_Alpha?
  7. Look on their facebook page, maybe the 777???I think it will be the SDK and the NGX update, or even the announcement of the Dash 8.What do you think?Cheers, Tom
  8. Both CDUs show "Loading Data Base" and nothing happens. Ran Navigraph update for all Carenado Aircraft. But nothing changes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Hey guys, I built a home cockpit designed to be as versatile as possible. I tend to find myself most interested when I am learning different planes. I only really started flight simming back in March but I have got to know the PMDG737, A2A C182, and PMDG747. I am excited about the maddog md80 plus the Aerosoft CRJ and Majestic DQ400 are on my short list. I have loads of buttons and switches for my simulator which is great but the FMC/CDU/FMS (sorry I don't know the correct terminology for each plane) seems like it's going to be a problem when transitioning from the none PMDG planes. The easy solution right now for PMDG is the VRInsight iPad apps and an iPad mini but does anyone have any ideas for other aircraft? I am okay with using a pop-up window to see the FMC and type in commands as I have a large monitor right in my face but running at 30hz trying to use the mouse with the stutter is nauseating at times and quite frustrating. Plus I have some motion and vibration in my sim so it's tough to mouse click when things are really going. I have a small wireless TV remote style keyboard on the front of my yoke that I can type with but that would still leave me with quite a few buttons to map outside of the letters on the FMC. I looked into the CDU II from VRinsight but the solution seems quite complex and not that great. However; I could be wrong since I have found almost no tutorials or forum posts of people actually using this method. Although there is one on this forum with someone who seemingly got it to work on the Majestic. All in all it seems little over the top. I am just searching for some creative ideas that maybe people have come up with for creating more of a universal FMC. I use P3Dv4.1 so that's why I am posting here. If you have any solutions or ideas let me know. Cheers, Brian
  10. Hi guys, i know this data is provided by Navigraph randomly, but i always try if it's available. Because of different gate info between charts and addon-scenery (in that case ZBAA data). I checked different gate data format inputs to get knowledge if just my chosen gate wasn't stored in Navigraph database or they were generally missing. I found one working, which gave out gps position reading. After that i wanted to clean this info, but it wasn't possible to find a proper way. I also tried the digit "0" This replaced the input before, but was represented by a different gps position again. But i wanted to solve this but I didn't want to close the sim and start it again. So i decided to reload the cold & dark profile. And then something strange happened. The "wrong" input "0" in the field of gate-positions was still there and kept. And that's the reason why i write this post. Is this intentionally behaviour? As far as i remember PMDG did some "hardening" back in the MD-11 years to avoid wrong user-inputs which led to crashes sometimes. Please correct me if i understood the concrete logic on this topic wrong!: It needs a proper Navigraph database readout to replace a wrong gate number input. But we all know they aren't complete, which makes corrections difficult. And there is no other option to clean this field. You can't replace the wrong GPS data itself by input of the correct GPS-position taken from airport charts. (i checked this too) also a C&D panel state reload keeps wrong gate data. Maybe i missed something, but as user i would be happy to be able to clean this Gate-Numbers line as every other parameter in CDU in every aircraft withoud closing the whole sim.
  11. Hello, Is it possible to control FMC inputs from the central CDU? I've searched for an answer but can't find a reference. Best wishes, Luke
  12. Hi all, I am using an additional monitor to display the CDU of the NGX. When I undock the CDU and use it on my second monitor I dont have any noticable framerate impact. (I am using P3D V3) However, I would like to have only the CDU display without the actual CDU gauge around it. As stated in multiple posts regarding this topic the only thing you gave to do is renaming "gauge00=PMDG_737NGX!CDU, 0,0,385,600,L #0" in the panel.cfg to "gauge00=PMDG_737NGX!CDU_Screen, 0,0,385,600,L #0". This does indeed work - when clicking the CDU in the VC only the CDU display shows up. I am having the following problem though: When I click on the CDU with the tweak applied (no CDU gauge, only display), my frames drop by about 30%. Without the change in the panel.cfg (the default state with the CDU gauge) my frames remain basically untouched. Does anyone have an idea what could cause this issue? The frame drop seems odd to me, since the computer basically renders the same thing without the actual CDU gauge (only display). I am glad for any idea/advise. Thanks! David
  13. When I enter the gross weight into the FMC I get an error message saying FSX has experienced an error and needs to close. This has only happened to me with the 2D panel. It hasn't happened in the VC (yet). Any deas?
  14. A friend of mine tells me he can select "ACARS" from the CDU. though mine is dimmed out so I can't select it. Doesn't matte if it's no implemented, I'm just wondering what's necessary to un-dim the selection. Thanks. Dave
  15. I have a problem with my NGX (v1.00.3057). I do not have any cockpit sounds (EGPWS, TCAS, Fire bells, Cautions, switches clicks etc). Other sounds (engines, wind etc) are OK. And its only with NGX. There is no such issue with any other aircraft (including PMDG 744X). My Windows playback device is set to stereo, as it is stereo. In FSX sound device is default (and switching to other options does not help). And when I go to sound options on aircraft's FMC/CDU it says 'device: none' and when I click it, there are no sound devices. I can't think of anything else to fix it. Clicking 'Q' twice does not help either. I have an onboard sound card(Realtek ALC 892).My PC:Asus M5A97 ProAMD FX-4100MSI R6850 Power EditionCorsair 8GB DDR3 1600Win 7 Pro x64
  16. Hello; I presently have MS FSX, PMDG 747-400, Cougar MFD panels (2ea) and Saitek Radio, Multi Panel, Flight Switch panel, throttles, yokes, pedal and more (just trying to provide as much info as I can) I have managed to get one of the MFD panels programmed to open up the GPS in MS FSX and it works great and all I had to do was set the button assignments in FSX to accomplish this. Now I am trying to use the other panel to open up the CDU and USe the buttons on each side as LS1-6L and LS1-6R along with the paging functons I have tried using a registered copy FSUIPC and a variety of other utilities but I cannot get FSX or the PMDG 747 to accet the buttons as input. If I use the keyboard to open the CDU I would press tab,v (Views), I (instuments), and scroll down to the CDU, once I click the CDU it would open and then I would select the specific pages I want to go to (Index) RTE 1, etc, I would also like to emulate the key on the CDU using the remaining buttons the the MFP Purchasing a CDU is not an option right now as I have not really read any good reviews on the CDU or CDU11 and the other option is really out of my small budget price range. I fully realize I am asking a lot from a $59 piece of hardware but that is what I have and until I can move on to better things. So I ask can this be done ??If so what am I missing ?Is this a problem with the PMDG 747 interface is that why I can't capture the keys ?Or AM I just barking up the wrong tree ? Thank for being patient in reading this and Thanks in advance for any help you may provide. Meanwhile I am contuing to search the forums here to see if anyone else has tried anything close to this Ron
