  1. It took me a while, but I finally broke down to hand over $70 for this plane. I'm speechless. The detail and dynamics of this plane are simply outstanding. The HUGS display is a great feature as well. I do have a few questions though, having only owned this plane for a few hours. First, does the altitude hold (on the auto-pilot panel) override the VNAV path? I found a few times during a KLAX-KLAS run that the plane missed it's TOD and some other crossing restrictions; however, I have a feeling it's because the altitude hold restricted it from descending further. Second, does an accidental knock of the joystick override the LNAV. A few times the LNAV popped off, probably by me subconsciously pushing on my joystick.Third, does this plane have a "direct" function? For ex, ATC gives a short cut to a fix that isn't my next fix. Fourth, I've heard of a "descend now/present position" function. Where is this, and how is this applied?I'd appreciate any responses. Thanks and happy holidays.Kyle
  2. Hello guys!I'm new to this aircraft, but I progress every day. I can just come up with two questions at the moment:What does SK-R runway condition mean? We have dry, wet and that one. What is RW SLOPE / HDG? And SEL/OAT under N1 limit I'd say.Reserves values?Thank you in advance!
  3. Hi, now that I started flying on Vatsim, I wanted to know what to do in case of a go around. So I watched tutorials. Everywhere, the go around procedure is already inserted in to the FMC when the flight plan is configured, but for me, it’s just a small part of it.(like just the beginning of the procedure) any idea what I’m doing wrong? btw I’m flying the fenix a320
  4. If I put my legs in manually on yhe fmc everthing for the most part is good. However sometimes when I put in a sid and star the leg program comes up with a gap saying distination route ended it shows the 4 squares. sometimes ive been able to move the waypoint up and it works but not all the time plus you cant delete it. Whats the trick to make it flow when the "Then" and squares come up?
  5. Hello everyone!!I want to use android phone as a touch panel CDU by using idisplay.I installed idisplay in my PC and android phone. They work properly, except PMDG.I drag the CDU window and move to android phone, then the window become blank....Dose somebody knows the countermeasures??
  6. Hey! I just got a new computer, installed ngx and something is for the first time wrong! Does the latest downloads have all of the hot fixes in them? I change all of the settings they way i want but it always resets it when i restart fsx! I just did fresh install of ngx, entered the game, set c&d as default start up. restarted fsx and everything changed back :( Can't install liveries as well, program hangs it self. Please help. Regards, Rome.PS. The PC is up to date, FSX running with SP1 and 2. Windows 7 64 bit.
  7. Hi, everyone! After quite a long time sailing virtual skies I decided that it would be prudent to learn how to properly create a flightplan. Until now I was using software Wilco/FeelThere PIC 737 and I didn't have a need for learning how to create a flightplan in FMC or to use SID and STARS and so on. Now, though, the new NGX is out and I really want to fly this bird properly. When you create a flightplan in FSX and then use it to make a flightplan by manually inserting waypoints in the FMC, you should get a flightplan that ATC will follow. The problem is that ATC does not understand STARS, for instance, so it gives you instructions that you will obviusly not follow and then ATC gets annoyed ("please expedite your turn to ....). So, the question is How do you fly a fully programmed NGX flightplan and still work with FSX ATC? Also, in every tutorial that I've read the pilot already knows the arrival runway and STAR. In FSX IFR you don't know that. Also, I am always guessing SID's as well, considering that there are sometimes more than one SID's going to the same waypoint. Thanks for the help! Jakov Jandric
  8. Hi According to www.b737.org.uk the latest FMC imodel is 2907C1 which has a Motorola 68040 processor. Do you guys know in what programming language that FMC Motorola processor is written? I understand μC/OS would be a good choice since there would be a need for a real time OS and a FMC is a typical real time multitasking device. Any of you guys know more specific details? gura75
  9. Hi This question is maybe a bit stupid. But working in 2D I can not view FMC, overhead panel, throtteles and etc. These things were added like a tiny buttons ...shortcuts...where are they now or how to get to FMC i 2D, 737 NGX. gura75
  10. I can Autoland CATIII at other airports where the runways are designated as CATIII capable, but in 2 different flights from EBBR to EGLL, I was unable to have both CMD a/p buttons remaining lit during final approach and the CATiii landing failed in both cases.Does anyone know what I might have done wrong? Configured Runway Length for 27R at Heathrow on the HUGS setup panel 12798 feet Entered Runway Altitude in HUGS panel 79 feet Confirmed 3 degree GLS in HUGS panel Selected PRI in MODE for HUGS panel STBY AIII ARM in HUGS panel Set CRSE both seats for 271 degreesSet NAV1 and NAV2 both for 110.30 hzFollowing the above for other airports such as CYVR (Vancouver Int'l) the plane autolands including flare just fine. I simply push the nose down following touchdown and engage the reverse thrusters and then the brakes - spot on.None of this works as I expect at Heathrow. The A/P switches from Capt to FO (they will NOT both remain lit, even during the very final portion of the approach)Any suggestions will be most welcome - thanks. If perchance there is NO Cat3 capability at EGLL, I'd love to hear it, but that disagrees with what my other resources say.
  11. Hello, first of all I want to say thank you to PMDG for this wonderful addon ;). Just a little thing that I've just seen on a flight. The BELOW-operator on the LEGS-page in the FMC doesn't seem to have an effect. The FMC's descent planning ignores the constraint: If I only type 120 instead of 120B it works: It would be nice if you could consider this for the next update. Thanks :).
  12. Dear MPDG First of all thank you so much for this amazing product. I just keep on getting surprises every time I fly it! Everything just works together! Got some pretty serious consequences after forgetting to hit couple of buttons on (Eng packs)! Amazing. But I have a little problem... 1. (my pc is pretty weak) but runs NGX Pretty nice... Sometimes I get that FMC (display) freezes. It still works but display doesn't show entries I make. And some pages are totally gone. A specially "Load and save panel state" pages. What could it be? Eks.: I enter "whatever in scratchpad nothing comes up but when I change page the entry I made comes up.. While at the same time when this happens some pages doesn't come up. (all pages in FMC works) just some in options and pmdg sim... Please help :) 2. Off topic: When i fly with LNAV and then set a heading, hit the heading butten and in my opinion the plane bank way to hard. Not too much but to fast. (Not smooth at all) Is this normal? 3. Window heat. After hitting overheat test the overheat indicators stays often on. And just stays that way... Really having difficulties with Q nr. 1. Please help. RegardsRoman.
  13. Hi everyone I have been using the MD11 for sometime now and have found it to be one of the most enjoyable airliners to fly. Now I have got to grips with Airways Star and Sids, I would like to find out what planned routes the FMC has. OR does it take its info from the FSX flight Planner? I have updated the FMC data to the latest version from Navigraph and obtained several airport details but the FMS does not seem to have UK planed routes, is this correct and is it only US routes? From Dazmo
  14. When I enter the gross weight into the FMC I get an error message saying FSX has experienced an error and needs to close. This has only happened to me with the 2D panel. It hasn't happened in the VC (yet). Any deas?
  15. I am looking for a good medium to long hauler with FMC and navigraph support. Not really looking to spend more than 50 bucks. I already have the QW 757, NGX, and Wilco Airbus Series. Also, Any good scenery? I already have FSDT JFK, LatinVFR Miami and Flightbeam SFO. I only have a medium range system, so I would prefer on the frame friendly side.
  16. Howdy Folks,Bought my 737NGX a few days ago. Very nice plane.I was wondering if there is a FMC maual for 737NG out there? The reason I'm asking is that I'm stuck on how to enter a course intercept. Flight is from KLAX to KSFO. RNWY 24R. According to the chart I have to intercept SMO R-154 below 3000.KLAX VTU5 RZS J501 BSR BSR2 KSFOChart is available at:http://avn.faa.gov/d...0237VENTURA.PDFAny help will be greatly appreciated. :smile:Thanks,OmarKSFO
  17. Ive been over the tutorial and I see that to use a high route lets say J65 or low V495 (routes from Seattle to portland) you need to enter from a waypoint such as Cidug on V495. However I always get not in data base which is strange becuase they are commen routes I would think. Any help on getting on victor airways...providing there in the system, or does it really matter as long as you input the waypoint into the FMC Rte page?
  18. I have a problem with my NGX (v1.00.3057). I do not have any cockpit sounds (EGPWS, TCAS, Fire bells, Cautions, switches clicks etc). Other sounds (engines, wind etc) are OK. And its only with NGX. There is no such issue with any other aircraft (including PMDG 744X). My Windows playback device is set to stereo, as it is stereo. In FSX sound device is default (and switching to other options does not help). And when I go to sound options on aircraft's FMC/CDU it says 'device: none' and when I click it, there are no sound devices. I can't think of anything else to fix it. Clicking 'Q' twice does not help either. I have an onboard sound card(Realtek ALC 892).My PC:Asus M5A97 ProAMD FX-4100MSI R6850 Power EditionCorsair 8GB DDR3 1600Win 7 Pro x64
  19. Hi my name is Alex Makoviecki. I recently got the PMDG 737NGX and I really... really love it! The only problem I have with it is descending. I am about thirty miles back from the TOD (top of descent) and I set in the altitudes in the FMC that I should be at for each waypoint and VOR for the OMN.HILEY2 STAR at Miami Intl. I was using a chart that shows you the altitudes for each waypoint and VOR. I then set the altitude for descent to 5000ft which was the altitude for one of the waypoints that I would descend to and stay at for a while until descending to the glideslope intercept altitude. When I reached the top of descent the engines went to idle and the aircraft started descending but then leveled out at 37000ft (my cruising altitude was 38000ft). I noticed that the FMC had a message that said DES PATH UNACHIEVABLE, that was weird because I set the right altitudes for each waypoint and VOR for exactly what they should have been. I got the aircraft to descend a little more by copying of the speed and altitude of the first descent waypoint and pasting it again on the same waypoint. But I only got the aircraft to descend to 32000ft. I also noticed that when I am climbing above 25000ft the aircraft slows down the climb to 1000fpm, compared to 1800fpm in other payware aircraft. I would appreciate some help here! Thanks,Alex.
  20. Hi all, I recently got the QualityWings 757 and am happy with it, but I need some help with the FMC/Navigation. I know my way around the FMC fine and can easily program it for a flight, including SIDs and STARs (as its an easy FMC to operate), but I dont have the slightest clue how to get the plane to fly the route I punched in. Basically, what I'm saying is that I dont know how to operate the autopilot on the "Autoflight mode Control Panel" as they call it. It has all these buttons like Autothrottle Arm, VNav, LNav, e.t.c. I got as far as Arming the throttle, increasing thrust and pressing the EPR button so my throttles would hold the takeoff thrust. I had VNav and the A/P on, and it seemed to be climbing by itself, but I soon realised I didn't know how to fly this thing yet, so I left it to do some reading/forum posting. Is there anyone who could help me learn how the A/P works on the 757, any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, :)
