Still experimenting with clouds.

Really nice shots, it also would be nice to know what SMP will bring us in the upcoming major update.

Really amazing ... after the tweaks you mentioned I experimented some stuff with clouds , and I can say that the way Xplane depects clouds formations is beyond any level in any simulator.

Clouds aren't HD or something and in pictures they mostly don't look like REX stuff , how ever the feeling is just something else , clouds in Xplane can make some really cool shapes (like a slope) and all in 3D.

What we need though is also some sort of towered clouds depection , and I asked austin regarding that... this is the answer:

oh yes i agree.. the cloud formations in x-plane are only touching the surface of what they rally COULD be
so yes, much much better cloud formations could indeed exist… this is already on my to-do list, but i could move it up to a higher priority….

When this mix , the current clouds and those imprressive towered ones , will exist in Xplanes clouds formations... I can imagine how many WOW moments I'll have.

Now a stratus covering the whole sky. Very smooth (next time I'll show the frame rate to prove it  ):

How do you do this? I am uninstalling sky maxx to achieve this if I can!

I'm still in the experimental phase, all the tweaks and textures should be harmonized to achieve the best results, but very good results can be obtained.

I'll try to get it done and then make it public.

I'm sorry but what does 'SMP' stand for? I'm trying to get up to speed with XP.

Thanks, JJ

Based on the screenshots that you've been showing, I'll be looking forward to that more than anything else...

The biggest challenge IMO is actually the skycolors textures , as those also affects lightning on clouds.

The sqaure in the texture that belongs to the clouds lightning (the square in the right bottom) , should perfectly match the timing of the sky colors , otherwise it might look weird (like dark clouds while the horizon is red in susnset , obviously the light reflected on the clouds should be red)

This is using Murmurs clouds on the Lenovo Flex 2.

But making changes in the Art controls "clouds/Plot_radius" it reverts back to 1. Even clouds/3d is not showing any changes.
