September 24, 20178 yr 65 a few weeks ago - Orbx senior discount age yay! Just perusing this thread quickly it's great to see so many young people involved in our hobby. When I was a kid I spent much of my free time hanging around my local airport (Shannon) with other plane nuts and plane spotters. In those almost security-free days, not only did airports have great viewing areas but I was freely able to wander around hangars and it was easy to get permission to go and photograph airliners on the active ramp. I often managed to wangle invitations to visit the cockpits of various airliners and even some military aircraft transiting through there. All of these experiences gave me a lifelong passion for aviation but I often wondered whether the sterile security intense airport environments which have developed in the last couple of decades might prevent younger people today developing the same passion but it's good to see I appear to be wrong!
