February 28, 200719 yr I own two of their aircraft and would say it is a love / hate relationship. The flight models are excellent, the outside models very nice and framerate friendly. The panels capture the look quite well, but they have an FS2002 appearance and are not easily modifyable.I get the impression that the development team is way overcommitted right now with FSX updates which leaves FS9 customers with "easy to fix" bugs in the gauges that are not being dealt with... The FSD support forum initial response seems to be: "Do not see this problem on our system, must be your setup.."IMHO, other outfits produce higher quality products with more responsive and thorough support.. I still enjoy flying the FSD Seneca V2, but I really wish they would address the outstanding bugs and truly make it a great plane to fly.. Bert
February 28, 200719 yr Commercial Member We freely admit we have handled some customer service issues poorly in the past, but we have been taking steps to correct this over the last year. We invite anyone who has had issues in the past to contact us and we will be glad to work with you to get any outstanding issues resolved. If anyone would like to speak with me directly on this matter, or if you have current support issues that you feel are not being handled correctlyt you can do so by leaving a message on this forum, or by contacting us at [email protected] type of problems do happen with companies doing Internet support, and the only thing an organization can do is correct the mistakes and move on. I am making this public statement not only for business reasons, but on a human level as someone who enjoys productive and friendly relationships. I openly invite anyone's constructive suggestions as to how we can improve our service, web site, etc.Very sincerely,Tim Dickenshttp://www.fsd-international.com/team/TD_forum_sig.gif

I can't say I've ever heard of any other flight sim company doing any of those things. I do give you credit for coming here and trying to right a wrong, I came really close to buying the porter several months ago, and after reading this thread I'm glad I didn't.

February 28, 200719 yr Oh, please! As your note is written, you don't even have any of the company's products. I have most of their aircraft, no spyware, and no problems with FSD over numerous FS versions. FSD is an excellent company that, like most, has had its share of customer relations screwups. Tim has made an effort to correct any problems. Give the guy a break and take him up on it. If you still have a problem, then come back and complain here.DJ
February 28, 200719 yr I have plenty of their planes, and have not been accused of being a theif, nor has my "expired" mother. So this proves that FSD knows who "LAdamason" is... one of their customers (and staunch supporters) whom they know by name. Nothing unusual about that. Happens in all businesses all the time. For customers who aren't so well known by a company it may not be so easy to be quickly recognized. Sometimes so, sometimes not.Therefor, get your facts straight, since they're in obvious error; and please issue a retraction!Seems you lack the desire to use the "Search" function at this and numerous other forums. FSD's history is well documented by many past customers who have been burned by their business practices.FSD has the right to develop and follow whatever business model they wish. Whether or not the consumer accepts their choices is entirely the consumers' choice. In the end they speak with their money.
February 28, 200719 yr >please>issue a retraction! :-roll >>L.AdamsonNot gonna happen, the FSD guy manned up and admited they made mistakes, for that I do respect him, but it also means a lot of the negative things people say about them were true.
February 28, 200719 yr None of our business so we hesitated to post but one thing stands out worth mentioning.....>Tim Dickens wrote: "We invite anyone who has had issues in the past to contact us and we will be glad to work with you to get any outstanding issues resolved.">Tim Dickens wrote: "If anyone would like to speak with me directly on this matter, or if you have current support issues that you feel are not being handled correctlyt you can do so by leaving a message on this forum, or by contacting us at" [email protected] to us the man has issued a challenge to current and past customers to take him up on resolution of past issues and support....Why not take him up on his challenge? Seems a better course of action that complaining about past wrongs:-)

February 28, 200719 yr I will take Mr Dickins up his his challenge and ask if FSD would consider using the Flight1 wrapper system instead of the system they currently use which is their own worst enemy. If the F1 system was in place I guarantee you I would have bought every release I could except being stopped dead at the Avanti and not being able to buy or upgrade anything since. That would surely solve everything. If it's good enough for Flight1, Dreamfleet, Eaglesoft and countless others then it should be good enough for FSD.
February 28, 200719 yr "Not to mention that FSD provided excellent flight dynamic updates for many of the default aircraft, year after year, and "free"."I think that was mainly down to the generosity and expertise of Steve Small.Mike
February 28, 200719 yr I was really getting close to picking up the 337 Skymaster, and am still intrigued by it but I think I'm going to put it off for a bit to see how things shake out.Hopefully I'll hear some good things and FSD comes through on it's promise to do better in certain areas. They have more than one aircraft I'd like to have.
February 28, 200719 yr I would not hesitate. Its a great plane.I had some problems with them a few years ago, but working with them now is quite a bit different. No problem at all.

Because bashing isn't acheveing nothing. Now Ron I own 4 of your AC. To date I've never had an re install issue with any of your AC. I'm able to modify the panel gauges any way I want to. I support you because you make an quality AC just like FSD. You use the Flt1 wrapper system, and I know for a fact to date, I never pirated any of your AC or guages. And you never treated me like I did. We do not presume to suggest to other developers what they should do regarding customer relations or antipiracy measures. >Bill M wrote: And you "SO CALLED SIMMERS" stay out of those P2P sites trying to get FS software for free. Man up and pay for it like I do!!!Couldn't agree more Bill. Recently our attention was directed to yet another of these despicable sites and we were once again forced to take action behind the scenes. Software theft is a scourge on honest business and certainly contributes to prices inching upward for honest folks so businesses can continue to operate.Perhaps, just perhaps, the next time some flightsim enthusiast downloads an illegal copy he will think about what he is doing to his own "community":-)
