February 22, 200917 yr If you look on the McPhat Forum, one of the devs said that it will NOT BE a turoprop. He said that both projects will be turbofans.Remember that this has been a secret, for who knows how long, and could easily have been in development for years, flying under the radar because of the MD-11. Also, I doubt that PMDG would make a 767 or 757, because it would spoil their good relationship with Level-D. One thing that the 777 and 717 have going for them is that most of their systems are already modeled (747 and MD-11) and it would be relatively easy to model a new exterior and VC and to adapt the systems modeling.Guesses:777A320717On a side note, I'm very excited about the HUDs in the NGX 2.0!Chris Regards, Chris McNulty Intel Core i7 920 @ 4.2GHz, EVGA Classified E760, 6GB Corsair Dominator GT 1600, GTX470, WesternDigital Velociraptor 300GB, Seagate 7200.10 500GB, Seasonic M12 700W, Silverstone TJ07
February 22, 200917 yr I tell you it's going to be Barney... :)LomaI now have the feeling that its a 717 so cool. If its a glass cockpit and it is a turbofan its must be the 717. Steven Penninck
February 22, 200917 yr Has McPhat said they are working on a PMDG product? Is the "Express" going to have full system management, or just the airframe with minimum systems, or can we expect a Block system/puzzle piece plane?Brandon Brandon
February 22, 200917 yr I now have the feeling that its a 717 so cool. If its a glass cockpit and it is a turbofan its must be the 717.717 ≠ BarneyBarney has four engines, can descend at 8,000 FPM. Who in the world is Barney? :)
February 22, 200917 yr Is the "Express" going to have full system management,I don't think you can expect "full system.." from an express product - by definition these are express products, they don't come with failure modes so clearly system modeling is limited to normal operations only and some less important systems may be omitted altogether. Michael J.
February 22, 200917 yr 717 ≠ BarneyBarney has four engines, can descend at 8,000 FPM. Who in the world is Barney? :)I somewhat doubt they'll be making a military cargo plane if the upcoming plane is an "express line" product, but we won't know until they reveal it. My new guess is the BAE-146 seriesRegardsJan Kind regards Jan H Dahl
February 22, 200917 yr I myself dont mind an "express" product every once in a while. I really enjoy system managmenent but I have a few "express" if you will planes that I really enjoy. Cant wait to see what it is, especially from PMDG, cant go wrong with them. Is the "Express" going to have full system management, or just the airframe with minimum systems, or can we expect a Block system/puzzle piece plane?BrandonNo, but their timetable for a Q3 release, and the secrecy of the project (they are under a NDA), seem to fit the profile of this project.Chris Regards, Chris McNulty Intel Core i7 920 @ 4.2GHz, EVGA Classified E760, 6GB Corsair Dominator GT 1600, GTX470, WesternDigital Velociraptor 300GB, Seagate 7200.10 500GB, Seasonic M12 700W, Silverstone TJ07
February 22, 200917 yr A BAE-146 is a steam guage era aircraft. They have already said are not developing any steam guage aircraft.Look a few posts above. a PMDG quote there.Capn Oz Peter Osborn
February 22, 200917 yr Also, Where in the world do you guys get that its a " express " product. There is NO mention of this in the article....What I read has no inference of this at all....Here is exactly what has been said.."After the Boeing 747-400 "Queen of the Skies" and now the MD-11 "The Last Tri-Jet", what other products there PMDG provides for development? . We are still far from finished with our 737NG2.0, and we have another product in development, which is also almost in beta test phase and will be announced shortly. L' Peter Osborn
February 22, 200917 yr You are indeed right. I tried to make a notice of this in another thread, without much success.

February 22, 200917 yr its definitely an A320pmdg and airliner xp probably combined forces when the forum on airliner xp suddenly ceased functioning in 2/07airliner xp have been working on A320 for 4 years nowi will bet you that pmdg and airliner xp combined teams to expedite final productiongo to airlinerxp.com and see the VC pictures - its truly amazing and Ryan Maziarz stated that the new product has an incredible VCso this is my speculative guessi hope it is too!!!Bo Bo Klop
February 22, 200917 yr A 717 would make sense, since it's basically a mini MD-11. And BoHappy, what you said about the A320 is very possible too.I would really love to see a 717 or an A320. FSX really needs a native short hop plane. The Wilco A320 is not very realistic, and the Maddog 2008 is great, but it is a huge FPS hog.Chris Regards, Chris McNulty Intel Core i7 920 @ 4.2GHz, EVGA Classified E760, 6GB Corsair Dominator GT 1600, GTX470, WesternDigital Velociraptor 300GB, Seagate 7200.10 500GB, Seasonic M12 700W, Silverstone TJ07
