Hey Mike, do you have FSDT's JFK? I have that and Manhattan X, and IMAGINESIM KLGA, my frames go to complete crap when i get up in the air. I can disable one or 2 when i need to but I'm just curious. I'm trying to see if its worth the extra cheese for ya beast!

Hi,I don't have FTX Australia, sorry. I think I just have FSDT's KJFK for FS9 I'll have to take a look.

Looks pretty nice. How much did this all cost? It would be great if we can get 30 fps with high settings in dense urban areas with payware. But the prices will have to come down a bit.

Hi,Well, the overclock is done. I'm currently running at 3.8ghz. @ 67 degrees. I'm running a test flight from KJFK to KMIA, FPS are locked at 30 and are staying there. So far it looks great.
Mike; What voltage changes did you make for the OC? In fact, if you can post your clocks and voltages it'd be of interest to see how you got there. Is 67 deg running FS or in OCCT/Prime95 etc? Air cooled?CheersBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

Hi Bob,67 is running FSX, I made no changes to the voltage. I'm not in front of my Flightsim computer, but all I did was bump up the multiplier to 26. That also changed my corsair memory to 2006. The system is air cooled.Hi Twitchstick,FSDreamteam's scenery come with both FSX and FS9 version upon purchase, I just have to install KJFK and take a look to see what performance I get. Won't get to it until Friday.

1 - Are you using Hyperthreading or is it turned off, with 67 degrees at 3.8Ghz, i suspect you have HT turned on. If so Is FSX better with HT for you.2 - What is your target clock speed

Hi,I didn't realize I still had it on. I've turned it off and bumped up the multiplier to 28, temp maxed out at 67. I have not touched the voltage yet, running 143x28=4004GHz.A 700mhz CPU increase on air, that's incredible. Not bad

Yea that is a nice increase. Which CPU cooler are you using? I don't remember if you mentioned that.

Hi Twitchstick,I'm using the Prolimatech Megahalems with two 120x25 1200rpm fans. Here is their web site.http://www.prolimatech.com/products/megahalems.html

Hi,Those look great, do you have or can you take any of KJFK?.
Mike,Here are some quick screens of Dreamteams KJFK airport. I haven

Those are nice shots and good performance for that area. But it looks like we still aren't where we want to be. What I mean is that if you were to take the same shots in the VC of say the Flight 1 Mustang or Eaglesoft SR22 or even the PMDG MD11 we'd be looking at a different set of numbers. And like you said, add in your scenery addons PLUS AI traffic and fps most likely drop back into the teens (or worse)I wonder what a 975 clocked to 4.5Ghz would do?

Mee too!My next i7 will be a 975. But now my 920 D0 is very stable at 4.4GHz with Mem at 6-7-6-18@1680MHz and my GTX280 do a great Job. Even with this config I get only 20FPs with MA EDDF, GEX, UTX, REX and UTII@60% Traffic inside my PMDG 747...So, I like to see some i7 975 screens with vc on Airport with traffic at 50 or more %.

From my experience with my FSX machine UTX/GEX has little or no impact on performance but the AI will. Those screen shots were taken at the recommended 50 something percent traffic setting. As far as FSX is concerned I

I'm delighted with my i7 975.I like using the Asus Turbo V in windows and just raising the bars to 30 for a 4mgh effect. No need to enter the BIOS. Initially I did. I followed Nick's teaks. Then I use Asus Probe to monitor the temperature. 55 deg C, not too bad.I don't see the values in windows system properties, but I see the temperature rise using probe. From 40c to 55c after a flight using fsx.25fps in NYC with traffic on the roads is what I was looking for. Even though my i7 975 did not double frame rates in NYC, everything else is just so much faster than my e6850.MLB2K is just beautiful and photo programs perform instantaneously. Extremely fast and I'm still using XP.
