Hi TimI made a mistake, or did not realized that until I read your last post and fly over KJFK again. I realized as I do the perf-tests again and turned the airplane towards Manhattan, that Aerosoft ManhattanX was enabled. So I went into Scenery Config, disabled ManhattanX and run the Perf-tests again. guess what

FPS locked at 30 and it rarely dips below 30, even at Dreamteam's KJFK.Time to go and enjoy my new sim.
Hi MichaelDo you use any airliner add-ons like the Level D 767 or similar? If so, could you take some test shots from the VC during approaches to a busy airport with some rough weather set? For many users that would probably give more perspective on performance..Could you also post you full system specifications including the hard drive set-up? You don't happen to use RAID mirroring do you?thanks-kyle

Hi Kyle,I did use RAID some time ago, but ended up losing so much data/time after a system crash that I no longer use RAID. I am in the process of adding add-on airports, I should be done sometime this morning. I'll get some screen shots with the add-on airports using the level-d 767-300ER.I lost about a dozen airports during the move to FSX. Either the airport does not exists for FSX or I'll have to purchase these airports again.----------------------System Specs----------------------1. I7 975 Processor (ovreclocked to 4.1GHz)2. PatrickLooks good: with those fps at that level of detail, my hunch is that you've got about as far as it's possible to go with current kit. And from what I've been reading in preparation for my 975, to get 4.6GHz out of a 920 (or even a 975) is impressive: you should give us some lessons.Tim
For maximum overclocking of cores you should know how. But the most important is luck! For example: I bought an Xeon W3540 (same as i7 950) and later bought my current i7 920 D0.With my 3540 it was hard to reach stable 4.4GHz. With the current 920 even 4.7GHz was possible and at 4.6GHz the Chip is prime stable.I'm sure, if you have a good X58 Board with overclocking BIOS (use newest bios version) every new D0 Chip (920 D0, 950, 975) will do 4-4.2GHz even on air (no stock-cooler of cores). What I have discovered for overclocking in connection with FSX is, that with my config more than 4.2GHz CPU clock brings not much advantage in FPS and/or smoothness. At or above 4.2GHz CPU clock the Memory speed and spezialy the mem settings and a very fast single GPU Grafics-Card become more important than with lower CPU clocks. If someone will overclock its CPU he or she should not trust into auto-settings! Of cores it will work most times, but if you set the voltages, cpu and memory settings manually then the overall system perfomrance can be much better then with auto settings.Oh, I almost forgot! The VGA Driver is very important too!! For Win 7 x64, Version 182.50 from Nvidia is the best and gives a good smoothness with GTX280.A overclocking Project can be very time intensive but you can win from 10 to 20 FPS and the all important smoothness. Hi,Well, here is my first attempt at making a video. FRAPS had the file size at close to 1 Gig. I reduced it to about 10 meg., the video quality suffered as you'll see. I could use some suggestions on what software to use to convert these files and still maintain quality. I've seen some nice ones on You Tube, wonder how they managed to keep the file size down and the quality up. This is an approach to KJFK 04R in stormy weather at dusk and at dawn. The aircraft is the Level-d 767300ER and the airport is from Dreamteam.Dusk Flight-----------------http://www.rmfc.us/photos/FSX1.wmvDawn Flight----------------http://www.rmfc.us/photos/FSX2.wmv

Hi MikeNice videos, but indeed the image quality suffered too much. What did you use to reduce the size and what settings?ps. i think you desperately need Fs2Crew and some addon that gives a head latency effect :(

Hi,I used FRAPS to record and I used AVS Video Tools to reduce the size of the file. Really don't know the software all that well, if you know of an easier program to use please let me know. Thanks

Wow, you just made me and every other person that owns FSX drool like a dog. My god that is smooth! ...And the approach... the approach was exquisite, right on the centerline. Best of piloting skills and FSX. I better start savin for a PII and some killer GPU.
