PMDG may have a partnership with Boeing and I don't know the implications of this.
I believe one implication is as faithful a reproduction as you could hope for. I recall reading in the past that Airbus technical information was harder to come by and one of the limiting factors of making proper simulation. I don't know if that's still the case, but with the PMDG bar set at such a high level I would think there has to be some cooperation with Airbus to do it right. Hopefully it will get worked out at some point.

Bob Quick

Besides- if you didn't actually SIGN an NDA... It's unenforceable...But that's another discussion for another day. :(
lol...thanks for making my day.

Aerosoft have said they will likely do an advanced version of there upcoming Airbus project in the summer this year quoted from there forum: "It is likely this project will be extended to a more complex version (in systems) summer 2010. The extended version will include more complex versions of the systems we left out of this product that has ease of use as it's main goal. We can not give any details on this extended version at this moment. This extended version will come as a simple low cost update to the main package."I have been checking out the airsimmer website lately and since december there has been no updates to the plane. Wilco publishings website has the airbus series volume 1 and 2. i am not sure if they are near pmdg quality, or if the overhead panel etc is fully fuctional, but if they are they will be a good simulation. As for the aerosoft one, i'm sure i read that after there in development one is complete, and when or if the advanced is created they will do a A330, so we could have a good starting point for some airbus series aircraft. If pmdg were to do and Airbus, i think they should do the A300, with the partial glass cockpit, or an A340 series. But if the A320 is decided i will be on the list of buyers as this aircraft is needed for fsx, after all they are the second best selling Aircraft series available, after the 737, and they are working on the NGX.i'm not sure what airbus to buy, i want one as the default is well lets not go there, but i think i'll wait abit. My next few aircraft are the NGX and the CS767-400ER (if released!!!) so i may not have the money for an airbus!!!

Aerosoft have said they will likely do an advanced version of there upcoming Airbus project in the summer this year quoted from there forum:
I have no doubt it will add more features to an already impressive-looking product, but lets not kid ourselves that their advanced version will be of the quality of PMDG. Their gauges are xml-based, and you will never get an advanced Airbus and good performance with xml-based gauges. I am sure PMDG spend a great deal of time optimising their code. Aerosoft would have to recode from the ground-up the gauge-system, and that would be unlikely given they expect to release it this year. No, there will be no PMDG-Quality Airbus until PMDG themselves do it.

Unless you count Aerosoft's (SimCheck ) A300, which is in fact an excellent rendition of an Airbus.Al

Aerosoft also said they aren't supporting FS9 any more, so I no longer even bother to look at their online shop. I'm no longer a custoomer of theirs.

KLMMD11: Regarding the Wilco, it realy isn't that abd as many people say. Many systems do work, but the product lacks refinement in my opinion. There are some rough edges to the systems and things that have not been modeled at all. The FDE of the planes of the volume 1 package is flawed, however, and you'll notice this mainly when asking the A/P to descend (managed or manual mode, that does not make a difference). The A/P will descend with rates of over 4000, I have even seen it go as far as 7000 feet/min, which, of course, is utterly crazy. Eric Marciano said it's difficult to fix this, since it's a FDE problem. Airbus volume 2 does not have this issue, however. I did not test it, but I'll take his word for it. Oh, and I have problems with SIDs and STARs. They are in the database, but I can not select them in Volume 1 aircaft. In Volume 2 however, I can select the SIDs and STARs.mcbellette: That's what they say, but when they say that, they only talk about in-house development. Companies like Simwings, that only publish their work through Aerosoft, still make FS9 products. Schiphol is one of those, but right now they are doing a FS9/FSX Barcelona airport, for example. So to say that Aerosoft does not release any new FS9 stuff any more is not true.

With all due respect sir i think that is pathetic reasoning. These companies are facing the recession like all of us, and FS2004, is a dying simulator.People can now get hardware to run FSX to really amazing results. Why make parts for a car made in the 1950s when u can make parts for modern 21st centuary cars? You may love your 1950s car, but it is not practical. To say that you are no longer a customer becuase they are not doing Fs9 as much, is like throwing teddies out of the pram. Times move forward, you either stick with the times, or fall behind.Troll over, time for bed

Although Aerosoft actually do sell many FS9 products, you should note that PMDG have pretty much come to the conclusion that FS9 is not something they want to develop stuff for, based on sales data. The new version of their 737NG is looking increasingly unlikely to be an FS9 product and subsequent PMDG products are categorically not going to be for FS9.Al

I Don't think they abide American Constitution!!!! :(
Haha, I know I don't abide by the American Constitution either. In fact, if I was to excercise my right to the second amendment, I'd be arrested in my country (which is probably a good thing)!Cheers,Rudy

Since PMDG have said much the same thing, I guess we wont be seeing much of you around here anymore either... :(

If you save two dollars a day for the next year you can build or buy a computer that can run fsx just fine. My fsx computer would go for peanuts right now and is based on 3 year old tech, but it runs fsx very well.

Even though I bought into the Airsimmer ET fiasco- I would buy a PMDG A320. Honestly I think PMDG maybe the only ones who CAN do it right.
