PMDG A320?

Featured Replies

There is a code of practise being exercised here. One developer does not 'tread on the toes' of another developer that's doing the same thing. I am sure you understand. Just be thankful that there are agreements like this in place, otherwise you would not have anyone producing payware.

Visit any airport in the world (Ok leave out Narita :)) and the tarmac swarms with 737's and A320's in particular. To not have a high fidelity A320 family is leaving a huge hole in the market. Whilst I applaud the Airsimmer mission statement, in reality they cannot get the Basic edition to run correctly. What hope is there for the ET version? The MD-11 is really from a by gone era and also really only represents the long haul freight operations sector. No one else has been able to reproduce the Flight management systems like PMDG has.It is the next logical step.....followed by the 787.

Fact is, Airsimmer have promised two updates before the end of this month for both the Basic and the ET version. The PMDG MD-11 may well be from a bygone era but it was the choice in a poll on here that PMDG asked for. At the time I wasn't in favour of it but since, I have bought both versions and love it. It's the best simulation by far, by PMDG and shows their excellence in a wonderful way.

Funny but I remember before PMDG announced their B777 how everyone was clamouring for this aircraft. Now it seems that many have changed their minds and want an A330/340 instead. Dammed if you do, dammed if you don't. Mind you, I'd buy a PMDG A320/30/40 for FS9 in a heartbeat :( Personally I feel they should scrap all their plans for FSX and concentrate on the FS9 market, ie me, only. :( I'll get my coat.

Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

Really? Then why are there 3 767's from 3 different companies, MD-80/DC-9's from 4 different companies, 757's from 2 companies (with 1 locked in an eternal development cycle), Airbii from several different companies (although they aren't quite what you're looking for), but a dearth of 737's and literally 1 777?I think it is less likely that there are "backroom" agreements in place and more like polite competition and economics in place.

the 767's are aimed at completely different markets. CLS with their 'lite' product, aimed a those looking for a little more than default but nothing too complex, CS with their good looking but very demanding model and simulated systems, and Level D, with their super duper procedural sim. same with the 757, CS is aimed at the more complex and realistic side, and QW aimed at the 'get up and go' market area. plus Dave Taylor has been around here alot longer than you, i think he knows what he is talking about.

As many flightsimmers know there is a lack of high quality study sims for airbus aircraft. The closest we have is the poor wilco a320 and a buggy Airsimmer Basic.I own the wilco and havent flowen it for ages. The graphics of it are poor in FSX and the Fly-By-Wire is not realistic.I have been following the Airsimmer Project with alot of intrest over the past 12 months but it seems to be falling apart, with only the buggy basic released and the Bug-O-Meter still stuck at 62%. The forums are childish with arguments over FS9 and FSX and to be honest i have given up hope of having a A320 study sim from them for FSX.PMDG announced a few years ago that they would make an A320 but that seems to have fallen through, my guess is because the Airsimmer showed so much promise.IF The Airsimmer falls through we will once again have no promise of a high quality airbus. This means that PMDG should create one like they said they were a few years ago. When the T7 is released we will know what Airsimmer is doing and then PMDG could make a decision on wheather to proceed with their Airbus. I know that ryan has stated that he would still like PMDG to create an Airbus.
I second that. I'm closely following what's going on with Airsimmer, and it becomes more and more apparent that they're not going to cut it, particularly when it comes to an FSX version.PMDG should make an A320. If they did, we'd at least know that there would be a release and that the product would be top notch.FSX is sorely missing a quality, hardcore A320.

the airsimmer advanced bug-o-meter reads 63 percent fixed as of today!!! we could have a release of the advanced around the same time as the NGX or even by Late June.

63% fixed........... and after how long? How many more bugs will result from the fixes? Still they are the only A320 contenders so I wish them the best. But I wont be buying until it is thoroughly reviewed.

im sorry, but i may just die if pmdg scrap their 777 for an airbus A34*.We have all been desperatly waiting for a 777, for me, i would prefere it even to a NGX [opinion guys i knows its coming out first ;)]But but, i do realise that my FSX hanger [only advanced aircraft i.e pmdg and CS.] hasnt got any short-medium jets, the lightest around is a 757.....All the best

Yeah, great. They're still dabbling in the FS9 version. A version for FSX will not come out soon, and by the time they'll get the FSX version right this planet may no longer exist.Sorry. I can't see anything positive about it.PMDG, please go A320!

Make that literally two 777s. :) I look forward to the third 777 arriving, but suspect it will be a longish wait.Kevin

I like the CS767. The only thing i think needs sorting is how the plane handles (seems a little light). does anyone know if this could be fixed
The big problem with the CS 767 is that the systems aren't that close to the real 767. It's basically a toy with lots of eye candy. What's the point in simulating the systems if you get them wrong in key details? I bought it in one of their sales, just 10 euros, but kinda wish I hadn't bothered. The FMC appears to be from a 747-400 and the EICAS is totally screwed up. ILS tuning is nothing like the real 767. GE version has no N1 limits. The only accurate 767 simulation I've seen is the Level-D one, which is rather dated looking now but still an immersive sim. A PMDG 767 would be nice but there have already been quite a few 757/767 sims with some attempt at simulation depth and a Level-D 757 is allegedly under development. I'd rather see PMDG breaking new ground as they did with the MD-11 and the J41 and will do with the 777. I'd leave it up to them to surprise me. :(Kevin
