An alternative for the default Cessna Caravan

I'm considering an addon plane to use instead of the deafault Caravan. One possibilty I have found is tne Friendly Panels Cessna Caravan Executive version pack.Is that a good product. Does it work under Win 7 x64

Pilatus PC-12 from Flight 1 is excelent. Don't know about the Friendly Panels option.Glen

HelloLionheart Kodiak is really nice and very good on the frames, The friendly panels caravan is not even as good as the Default Caravan, just check out the screenshots.

I agree the Lionheart Kodiak is pretty good for the money. Sometimes you can catch it on sale for $15.

I'm somewhat hesitant to that title. It got an advanced glass cockpit with the G1000. My system is easely brought to its knees even by a default C172 with G1000.And my system btwAMD X2 60004 Gb RAM PC64008800Gt 512M ddr3Win 7 x64

Believe me, the Kodiak is fine. And I have yet to discover a computer that ISN'T brought to a crawl with the 172SP G1000 :-)

Me too. For what ever reason the Kodiak seems to be as FPS friendly on my system as the default 172, although the 172 SP with the glass doesn't seem to cause any FPS trouble for me either.

I have now tried out the standard and G1000 Cessna again and a little update is in place. The G1000 C172 is brought to its knees at KEWR. But in the PNG bush scenery it performs fairly well. But still the G1000 seems to put a heavier load on the system compared to the standard C172. Would you go so far as to say that these Kodiak has better performence compared to the default G1000 C172?Right now I think that I first am looking for a replacement for the default Caravan with similar non glass cockpit.

I tried that suggested airfile. I think the instruments especially the atttude is a little bit to bright. And it stills disturbs me that there are no GPS visible in either VC or 2D panel. Also the 2D panel is of little use I mean you cant look out forward since the view is blocked. But it's a plane that feels good to fly.

Oh, DO get the Kodiak. It's one of the best FSX aircraft ever - so stable it flies itself, easy on frames, big chunky wheels so you can put it down anywhere, easy to use Garmin. It's the perfect sightseeing plane, if you're not in a hurry.I bought it in the recent sale, and absolutely love it.Ian

I actually like the Kodiak too, a lot.. but I'm surprised that not more users are complaining about the reversedactive and standby NAV (and COM) fields on the G1000. If you are seriously into using the G1000, this seemslike a pretty obvious bug :(

I might mention that I did bought the Kodiak since I got a mail about a day offer with 50% off. So it only cost me $12.75. But I find its responses to be very sensitive compared to other planes. Is that realistic?
