February 27, 201016 yr Super! The d/l finished about 15 minutes ago, and am burning the zip and docs to a dvd as we speak.... Had to get the latest WinZip - and it unpacked ok. Now have to install DotNetFx 3.5. Going from XP-32 to Win7-32, and then to Win7 - 64 in three weeks is a lot of focussed work.Looking forward to a revolutionized Seattle! February 27, 201016 yr Commercial Member Glad to hear it's working better this morning! We've delayed the official launch until all our pre-pay customers get PNW. That's the very least we could do.I am sure that by this evening things would have settled down. We did take a lot of pre-orders after all, but really, it did take us by surprise how the CDN got clobbered. Thanks everyone for being patient with us! Cheers, John Venema
February 27, 201016 yr Commercial Member I have tried 3 times to down load it all day, each time it stops about 3 hours in, the main problem is the server does not support resuming, which is crazy....why not?????And now when i try and start the download again, it says its complete after 4 seconds.... mark
February 28, 201016 yr I have always been a big fan of waiting a week until the hoo-haa dies down then stepping up and getting it downloaded in no time. You waited a year, what's another few days. March 1, 201016 yr When its formally released I predict that the Flight Sim Store's servers won't be able to handle it. It's gonna take all night here.I tried 5 times with the link provided in the notification e-mail. I sent a trouble ticket to the FlightSim Store. They immediately sent me three links to alternative servers. The first one did not work. The second one did - 700-1000Mb/sec download speeds. Not too shabby I must say. Yes, it took a while - but not days. These guys really take service seriously.fb
March 1, 201016 yr The trick is to let your download manager start and grab a few MB's. Pause it then 10 secs later resume. I was getting <100KB but after resume I jumped to a steady 2.1MB sec.I've just re-read your post fbass. 1000MB sec download speed ..... I'm going to assume you've got your MBs confused with your KBs. - Dean P3Dv4 & XP11 space
March 1, 201016 yr I downloaded mine in ten separate 400MB files. Came in fast enough at about 600kbps per file and un-zipped and installed perfectly. No complaints here at all about the delivery. The first day FUBAR downloads are a thing of the past I think. ___________________________I'm just flying for the fun of it.
March 1, 201016 yr Commercial Member I got over 2MB/sec last night when it came out - whole thing was done in less than an hour. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
March 1, 201016 yr I'm getting between 600Kbps to 1.4Mbps. Right now I'm running 800Kpbs and it has not went under 600Kbps so the speeds are fine for my connection speed. I wish it could be faster but who can complain when you are force feeding 4.2GB's down the pipe in 1.5-2 hours!!
March 2, 201016 yr Commercial Member When its formally released I predict that the Flight Sim Store's servers won't be able to handle it. It's gonna take all night here.I'm pleased to be able to contradict you, hehe!Since the server "reboot" where the CDN provider moved all our content to their core high speed backbone and rectified the bottlenecks, we've served 7.5 terabyes in the last 24 hours with not one support ticket raised for download issues. So yes, we did get less than stellar service from our CDN provider, but they came to the party when we asked (yelled at them) them to. Thanks again for everyone's patience. Obviously we've learned from this and we now have a rock solid delivery platform for any future large sized releases. Cheers, John Venema
March 2, 201016 yr Good to see another quality developer do well, maybe we can get SEA and PDX sometime this year if we keep buying :)

March 2, 201016 yr I think to avoid any future problems with download speeds of large addons, each publisher needs to send me a free dvd copy 1 week before release for me to test, so I can tell them if it's worth putting up and worth the hassles of dealing with server operators ;)Nice scenery been bumpling around in cubs and p-47's all morning looking at the mountains and details! But next time, lemme have it a week earlier than everyone else so I can test it for you ;)
