April 19, 201016 yr I wonder what module in FS9 turns it's users into pirates? Lucky Aces got rid of that module in FSX, eh? Seriously MatthewS, whilst I don't doubt that FSX is probably the way forward, please don't insinuate that FS9 users are pirates. The gentlemen at Flight1, PMDG, Eaglesoft, Dreamfleet, et al, all have plenty of my money. Probably a lot more than you have spent on your beloved FSX (without the piracy module).Cheers, SLuggy I do not have a signature. Why are you reading this?
April 19, 201016 yr Probably a lot more than you have spent on your beloved FSXFor FSX I have LDS 767, 747-400X, 747-800X, J41, MD11X, Super80 Classic and Pro, RealAir SF260, Carenado 152, Aerosoft Twotter, Lotus, CLS747-200/300, FEX, REX, ASX, FTX Green/Gold/Blue/Red, and few more I cant remember. Probably $1000 worth. For FS9 only the RealAir SF260, $40.Also intending to purchase the upcoming AeroSoft Airbus X 320, and most likely ConcordeX when SP1 is out.Any developer who wants my money should produce FSX addons. April 20, 201016 yr I guess what I will never figure out is why we have to endure these threads over and over. Most of what I have read here is baffling when it comes to rational debate. :( Considering the fact that the thread has become so far off topic and is heading to an inevitable lock anyway could a mod maybe step in and end this one? Best Regards,Robert Kerr 3D Modeler & Texture Artist

B) BTW, I'm happy to support any developer who makes good stuff, and I don't care if they produce for FS9 and FSX.Cheers, SLuggy who's happy with whatever other simmers use. Just don't call me a #### or a pirate for preferring FS9. I do not have a signature. Why are you reading this?

April 20, 201016 yr Just don't call me a dickhead for preferring FS9.Did I? Dont think so.But that long list of FS9 addons shows just how saturated the FS9 market is. Developers are right to now focus their efforts on FSX which currently doesn't have the same number of addons. With a total outlay of $40 on FS9 and $1000 on FSX addons, I doubt may Devs are worrying to much about getting your money.Come back when you have spent the same as some of those POOR FS9 guys you call PiratesReally they don't want my money? I wonder why they are in the business of selling addons?Obviously FS9ers who purchase addons are not pirates. Its the ones who don't purchase addons that would be the pirates. :( Matthew S
April 20, 201016 yr I am not going to FSX.I am not a pirate.I am not poor.I just don't like shelling out 5000 euro's again to get what I already have, and instead use it on something I don't have.end of discussion right there, ain't it?
April 20, 201016 yr I just don't like shelling out 5000 euro's again to get what I already have, and instead use it on something I don't have.Dont you get it? Developers are in business to make money. That means they need to sell product. Well the best market to do that in now is the FSX market and not FS9 (for a variety of reasons).edit: In other words the amount of lost sales to FS9er "die-hards" is far exceeded by the number of sales to FSXers. The developers net profit is larger by focusing solely on FSX. Matthew S

April 20, 201016 yr Hey Guys I love both sims If I had the cash I would buy all of you a beer and we would sit and laugh about all this! :( I can see why cls has gone on to make other md-80 on the market the Leonardo madog is a complex bird the flight1 md-80 is a little bit easier ? then the leonardo but still complex? they wanted to make a lite systems aircraft for people that dont all the systems. I believe most simmers are not hardcore so it covers allot more simmers. we at least, now have more options then just having one product from one company remember that most developers make the aircraft they want to make or aircraft that they have the most reference and materials on. April 20, 201016 yr But that long list of FS9 addons shows just how saturated the FS9 market is. Developers are right to now focus their efforts on FSX which currently doesn't have the same number of addons. So now the FS9 market is saturated? The sales of REX2004 would indicate otherwise, methinks. Make a good addon for which there's a market, and people will buy it. I do wish that more FS9-ers had bought the MD-11, as it's a masterpiece. That would have been a big nail in the coffin for PMDG's further development for FS9, and we've got no-one to blame but ourselves. Maybe we've learnt our lesson, I don't know. However no-one will (or should be expected to) buy a product that they have no interest in. If someone made a great simulation of a Sopwith Camel (for example), perfect in every way, I probably wouldn't buy it as I have no interest in it. But an all bells and whistles A320, hey, I'm there.I agree that the FS9 addon marker is a lot more mature than FSX's. Developers need to identify what will sell, yet another 767 isn't going to sell as Level-D and CLS and others already have them covered. A developer's favourite airplane may be fun to develop for them, but if no-one's interested in it no-one's going to buy it, are they? That doesn't mean that developers need to bow down at the feet of the humble FS9-er, but they do need to develop smarter. Patience is a virtual, MatthewS. Waiting a little longer for an addon isn't going to kill you. Plus you'd better return most of those FSX addons you have, as the majority have FS9 versions. :( BTW, the 'dickhead' comment wasn't directed at you in particular, mostly those who look down on those who use FS9. I've edited it to include being called a pirate, which you certainly have accused FS9-ers of being. Just so you haven't wasted your indignation. :( Cheers, SLuggy I do not have a signature. April 20, 201016 yr Ok seriosuly guys. This is a thread about the CLS MD-80 not another argument about fs9 vs. fsx. If you guys want to whine and complain about this AGAIN, Please start another topic. Maybe some people want to actually discuss the CLS MD 80 gasp! :(

That would have been a big nail in the coffin for PMDG's further development for FS9, and we've got no-one to blame but ourselves.Yep! And according to PMDG it was very heavily pirated, far more so than the FSX version. FS9ers need to accept that as far as most developers are concerned FS9 has had its day in the sun, and that now like all old soldiers it shall just fade away. Matthew S
