I don't know what happened or which add-on may have caused my night lighting to change, but just about every light is now big and blurry, with a big, blurry halo effect. Lights on poles look way off now in both FTX or UTX night lighting situations. When parked on the ground, these lights are HUGE! I found and use the four runway scaler lines (Vasi, rwy lights, etc)in fsx.cfg and they helped a bit. What about the other lighting? I've searched and keep seeing halo replacements. Is this what I'm looking for? Will this solve the issue in all scenery scenarios? (FTX, UTX)Thanks,Todd

Hi,FSX zoom does affect the lights, as you zoom out they have a tendency to balloon out/up, not sure if that's your problem. I run a triple monitor setup and have been working on FSX's lights, if you are interested in trying my fix I can send it to you. It should work for a single monitor setup as well.

Thanks for the replies. I saw Nick's light fix as I was searching around. I'll give that a shot. Mike, appreciate the offer! If Nick's fix doesn't work out, maybe I could try your solution. Again, appreciate the info.Todd

Are you using REX2 and have installed any replacement halo.bmp textures? That can cause such things to happen...Andrew

Hey, Mike; why not send to the Avsim library so that we can all share it. I use triple monitors, too, and you're right - this is one of the "bugs". :(

Hi PIC007,Depends on where the dual lights are coming from. I can send you the files to try if you like. Just drop me a PM with your E-mail address.Hi Paul,I will eventually send it to AVSIM as an upload. I like the look, but I'm still experimenting. :( If you would like to try the new lights, I'd be more than happy to send it to you.

Mike, you da man!!! I just installed your lights and what a difference from the default! The 'HALO.bmp' fixed the 'double' light issue and all other lights look extraordinary! The lighting in FSX has been one of my pet peeves since day 1 and this improves it 1000%Thanks very much!My other pet peeve is clouds should be modeled at AGL not MSL, anyone got a fix for that????? :(

You know, I have REX2 and the only thing I've allowed it to change is the clouds and water at this point. I saw that once you change anythhing else, you can't just reset it from REX and have to re-install the textures, so I've been a bit wary of changing any airport textures or lighting. That said, who knows what REX is changing! I guess it's possible that it could have been changed without me checking it in the options menu. If I wanted to make sure I have the default halo.bmp file, could I just get it off the original CD? I'm going to try Nick's light fix later today or this weekend, but just curious if I could make sure I have the default halo.bmp before I do that.
