July 12, 201015 yr Commercial Member hi ryani know you guys are always looking to improve [i have been a fan for years and years]i would just understand and find it completely acceptable, if fps didnt improve from the md11 for example, becuase from the previews, the ngx looks like its soo much more detailed.none the lesss, i would be very happy indeed if the fps matched the md11, as i think thats got good performance..if your saying u can beat it on performance and quality.. well,, thats another story.Alex Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! July 12, 201015 yr The plane is not even in beta, guys. I guess even developers do not have an idea about FPS. 9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung, AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.
July 13, 201015 yr I disagree Dmitriy... I would guess they have a fairly good idea as to what they can expect from their development work and optimisation, but that is not an issue... Ryan has stated again and again that PMDG is looking at an improvement in performance compared to the MD-11 and JS41 on adequately dimensioned PCs...If we can run the JS41 satisfactorily enough, I understand his statements to imply that we would also see the NGX running okay...We can wait and see how it performs when it comes out. There will be enough early buyers who will report very quickly on the performance...Andrew Andrew Entwistle
July 23, 201015 yr What about an i5 750 @ 2.66ghz with 8gb ddr3 ram? :(Not enough.David Di DomizioWe're always aiming for better than what we did in the past Alex.Overclock that! You can get a 750 to near 4GHz pretty easily with a good cooler. For all intents and purposes my i7 860 is an i5 750 because I have to disable hyperthreading to get the OC high enough - too much heat otherwise with this cooler.I got my AMD 965 @4.0 ghz liquid cooled by ECO,reduced the temperatures by 20 degrees!Very pleased with it!David Di Domizio David
July 24, 201015 yr ya as you can see my sig i also have the AMD X4 965 , but mine is Black edition, not overclocked though, i dont want to shorten the life of my pc, though quick off topic Q? who all here hand builds there own computers???
July 24, 201015 yr ya as you can see my sig i also have the AMD X4 965 , but mine is Black edition, not overclocked though, i dont want to shorten the life of my pc, though quick off topic Q? who all here hand builds there own computers???I have that same processor overclocked to 3.75 GHz with no issues at all. If you have a good cooler/case to keep the temps down your processor will be fine. Mine runs at 96F at idle and gets up to about 110F under load. July 24, 201015 yr ya, im only use factory cooler that comes with it, my pc runs hot though cause due to hard drive, i had to put my graphix card on lowest spot so it's heating up the tower on the bottom thinkin about findina a solution, someday... loloh, btw does anyone know how to make fsx look this good, im sure im judt dreaming, but idk
July 24, 201015 yr The most important thing in that video is Active Sky, or possibly Real Environment X, that makes the sky look awesome. Also it looks like the guy also uses the Ultimate Terrain X USA package, which makes the ground look awesome. Other than that it looked pretty standard. It looks very similar on my computer. You'd also be able to make it look similar to that I would think, at least if you got those addons. When it comes to overclocking, it does reduce the life of your equipment _somewhat_, but in almost all cases it would still be working quite a while after those components are hopelessly outdated. Say, you reduce the life time from 10 years to perhaps 8 years. I imagine you are going to get a new computer before that time anyways. If youre going to overclock would need better cooling than the stock cooler, and you definitely need good airflow in your case. A good way to organize it is to draw in fresh air in the bottom front of your case and have the exthaust exit at the back and the top. Make sure you have as few cables as possible going through your case on the inside, preferably you put the cables behind the motherboard tray, that is if you have a case where this is possible. Cables kill airflow really easily.
July 24, 201015 yr The 747 was our first ever product for FSX, we've learned a lot since... You can expect it to perform better than that. The best thing you can do though is upgrade to an overclocked i7 CPU and at least 4GB of RAM.I think its hilarious now. Since I got my new computer I can get 45 min fps in the heaviest places with full sliders. And about 90 just cruisin around. (All in the 747). It's amazing how far technology comes. Steven Penninck

If you have it, reply with like how it runs in fsx, cause as we all know fsx is a cpu hog, but you know just over all about it
July 24, 201015 yr Commercial Member I wouldn't buy AMD right now - their current stuff doesn't hold a candle to the i7 really. AMD used to be good back in the Athlon XP and Athlon 64 days, but Intel's really beaten them for the last few years with the Core 2 and i7 architectures. July 24, 201015 yr Absolutely agree. AMD's six cores proved to be faster in apps like Cinebench etc, witch are able to use all six cores at 100%, but Intel's single core is much faster then single core from AMD, mostly because it's whole new design, while AMD X6 is just old X4+2 cores.
