July 16, 201015 yr Robert left PMDG 3 years ago and joined Level-D Simulations. Robert is the sole reason Level-D haven't released the 757.... ;)Ha ha Now that is one humdinger of a rumour, Daryl. Come to think of it, if Mr. Randazzo were ever to consider becoming a double agent, he could chose no better "dark side" to align with than Level D. Talk about setting the cat among the pigeons.... Tony Best regards from Tony, at the helm of the flying desk.
July 16, 201015 yr Hmmmmm.... a PMDG T-6/SNJ??? I would buy it!Not before me! I would be the absolute first in line. Just the thought of a PMDG T-6 blows my mind. The current T-6 offerings are disappointing at best. If PMDG ever made one, I wouldn't fly any other aircraft ever again. 737? What 737...? :( Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!
July 16, 201015 yr William, have you checked out the FSX T6 by Warwick Carter by any chance? Freeware...And a rather nice looking T6 for $0... I prefer it to the others I have seen (and paid good money for) so far...That all said, I would also be as close to the front of the queue as possible to snap up a PMDG rendition of the T6 in whatever guise...@RSR: My commiserations on your not getting elected. One always likes to think that the best candidate won, but governments are full of people who were not the best candidate for the job by a long shot... I would say that the idea of typerating on a DC-3 is far more interesting than running for office :)Andrew Andrew Entwistle
July 16, 201015 yr Wow,I'm surprised that Robert left the left seat... it doesn't seem that long ago that we has a regional pilot. Jeff Bea I am an avid globetrotter with my trusty Lufthansa B777F, Polar Air Cargo B744F, and Atlas Air B748F.
July 19, 201015 yr Gents-The rumors of my demise are largely exaggerated....(Yes- this is officially the dumbest rumor I've seen in this forum. :( )There isn't even the slightest hint of truth to this story about PMDG shutting down. It sounds like the wishful thinking of those who can't keep up with what we are preparing for your simming pleasure. Seriously folks- lets put an end to the idiocy. I ran for office here in my home state because I am so darned tired of the career politicians making a hash of things. Unfortunately for the staff that ran the campaign for me- I lost... Got my arse kicked, actually. :( On the other hand, seeing the political system from the inside was eye-opening, to say the least- and reinforces quite strongly what a great work environment I have here at PMDG. Losing an election isn't much fun, but at least I've earned the right to gripe about incumbents!Win or lose- PMDG would not have changed much, as the company is far more than just "me." We have grown significantly over the past two years and we currently operate two full development teams working on multiple projects...In fact- I think Vin barely noticed I was missing for about 18 months.... He was disappointed to find out he'd missed out on all that opportunity to goof off!At any rate- I'm back to work creating insidious and sadistic failure scenarios for the bleed system on the NGX...robert your quote about the state of politics is quite similar to one Capt Gopinath who started from being an army officer and landed up creating air deccan -a low cost airline in india ,an honest guy stood in two elections and lost , politics is not meant for honest guys like youquit when you are sane ,only crooks can survive in politics -looks like people do not want to vote for the right guy even when they do have a choice.vivek http://www%28delete_this%29.precisionmanua...m/supporter.jpg

July 19, 201015 yr I've never really spoke to Robert, so I don't really know the guy, all I know is: he doesn't have a chin under his beard.... just another fist. Andrew McCluskey

As the son of an airline pilot I can definitely attest to the fact that pilots don't like being away from their kids while they're growing up. July 19, 201015 yr I'm sort of amused by the "Good-bye PMDG" thread(s), its an interesting study on how Internet rumors get studied. If I understand the history here, a guy posts the question "Is PMDG doing a 777 or 767", and he gets promptly and properly ridiculed. As part of the ridicule, someone posts the scarcastic response that posited the outcome described in the subject of this thread. And the rumor was born...I can't believe that something isn't true on the Internet...Flew the birds this weekend for the first time in awhile (golf season put on hold during the monsoons). Rust grows quickly on complicated systems. Flew the J41 well, but had an overrun in the MD11. (The shame.) Doug Orvis PP-ASEL-IA (USA), Based at KHEF Picture courtesy of Kyle Rodgers
July 19, 201015 yr I wouldn't worry too much about not having won an election, you might have found that politics would have left less time for your family too.If a politician is doing their job properly, it takes up a lot of time. My father was a politician in addition to having worked for an aircraft company. He stayed elected for over 20 years, even ending up as the mayor of my home town. Depends on the job in politics of course, but I can assure you that he was always very busy. For the most part it is a thankless task too, since if you do it honestly, there really is little personal benefit and more than enough instances where someone with less scruples will cheerfully stab you in the back. Flying aeroplanes is much more fun.Having been around that world for most of the time when I was growing up, I can absolutely confirm that the world of politics certainly does attract a large number of self-serving dipsticks and borderline petty crooks, many of whom you'd be hard pressed to trust to go and get you a can of coke, let alone represent your interests. :( If I were you Robert, I'd consider it a lucky escape for you and your family, because amongst other things (and this is absolutely true), my own family was threatened by a certain well-known terrorist organisation from Ireland, which I won't bother naming here. And that was because of my father's political career, so there's an example of how it can impact on your family life.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
