Aerosoft airbus x released!

Featured Replies

I had gathered some facts about this plane, you might want to read them before blaming me for being just emotional driven or something.I was wrong? Where?
You are emotional driven and you are wrong with some facts. The<thing>, as you call it, doesn't cost what you say it does. The<thing> doesn't have a default cfg. The only thing you're right about so far, is the sound. It was already confirmed by aerosoft when the thing wasn't even out.If you really would spend some time reading through the posts, you would see two things: 1- a lot of reports are similar, only repeated in a new post 2- everyone at aerosoft is busy ironing out the bugs, that come with most planes.I can give you the example of a plane in my <hangar> that has oom issues , I have even one fine product that was promised a vc, but the developer stopped, and now doesn't even communicate anymore. Up till now aerosoft has been very open about this project. They stated very early on SIDS/STARS were not included. The reason they gave wasn't because in real life it is not used, it was because their targetgroup use default flightplans. My understanding is they changed slightly from that path to a BIT more advanced version along the way. SIDS still stayed out. After several discussions and questions about this, and Mathijs stating over and over again what their intended customers were, he responded in one post that you could always enter it manual. He added that this sometimes was done in reallife. He even experienced pilots ignoring it completely when he was in the jumpseat. He never said it wasn't used at all, and he certainly didn't try to mislead people. This is all very easy to find if you try to search and more important READ their forums, so did I. About the airbus, I like it. It does have some things to sort out, but they are doing that. I am not very impressed by the sounds. TACAS doesn't sound right, the sound of the engines I can't really be bothered with, but I can see how puritans would. As I mentioned before, the bugs are being dealt with and I am confident they will solve it. So if you want to criticize a product, that you don't even own, be more objective, because the way you make it sound, that it is an overpriced piece of bugs wrapped in a new, but default, jacket is simply not true, Sir.

I bought the Just Flight Airbus,,,i got an email a day or 2 b4 its release offering it to me at 1/2 price,,Its now £14.99,,,they offered it to me at £7.50....i had a few quid saved with them so got it for £2.50,,,,its a f-lite version that i understood and was cleary happy with when pre ordering. The model of the outside is good enough,,looks decent,,,inside the cockpits ok,,,better than some payware ive bought at a lot higher price,,,but the autopilot and adjusting it just isnt "airbus",,its the native fs way,,,- and + to adjust heading and speed and alt,,,and the throttles are again fs or boeing style,,,not airbuses way,,,"I KNOW ITS COS ITS A LITE VERSION" hence the price,,,,in the last couple of days ive been lucky enough to have a try at the Airbus X from Aerosoft at a mates house and even though this can be classed as a lite version i felt it left the Just Flight version standing...and at only 37.95 (euros) or £32 approx or $40.55 i reckons its money well spend by my mate(pity were in england and we get hit with tax)....yeah there is the odd prob with it,,HEYYYY most fsx addons are bugged on release,,,ive read there forum,,,they acknowledge most of the probs and in a week or 2 have fixed loads,,,with more fixes to come.....so come on give em a break...we were using a saitek yoke and rudder pedals on the airbus and had no probs at all,,,i believe that or other controller probs are cos the user aint set up right.Andrew

Ok, I won't post screenshots of that Aerosoft shop to convince people like you (talking to EJTENC) about the price of the product, that would be to grotty. If your world and in detail your flight sim world just consists of your country (hopefully only regarding prices), I won't change that small picture. I'm not up to repeatedly discuss the same fact over and over again because some people think that their bordered sight is the one to go.Am I wrong about the price range then? Same price as the Simcheck and other nice and well done addons and you get what? Answer for yourself.Everyone can explore on their own, how standard the Aerosoft setup of that plane is and how high it is priced then. How come you think that I don't own it, Sir?Everybody can buy, fly and of course wait for some bugs to get fixed and some features to be missing for ever.Everybody can read those mentioned forums or other ones to explore again, that bugs are common and pleasure is rare. Only currently? Well, maybe. That's the nice thing about forums, they read your emotional stuff and then some other guy comes up with facts and they are up to judge by themselves then.Aerosoft surely made some nice products (which some of I own too) and feed the flight sim community with new ideas like with Andras Field. Anybody doubt that around here? I don't.But I doubt that they were and are honest about the real detail of that Airbus and I doubt too that the constant "you are wrong CoolP" cry will change the facts, Sir.So if you want to believe in your expensive product, feel free. If you think that it's worth the money and that the Aerosoft forums look open minded concerning the Airbus and the vast amount of critics that came up, again: feel free to think so. That's your opinion and instead of facts you stated nothing more than this.Ok, but not conclusive in my eyes. Going to give that thread back to people reporting about that product because it seems like some guys take critics about their latest buy quite personal. In my eyes, this thing doesn't fly, perform and work like an Airbus at all and isn't even stable (which might get fixed soon) and maybe some of you may consider the cheaper Just Flight alternative (less than half the price) or even go with the standard model and a freeware MCDU addon until e. g. FS Labs releases their product. This will be a high priced one too, but as I said before, "value" is made of more factors than the price.Aerosoft spend much time on marketing (which I think was successive) and far less on development it seems. The functional analogy towards the default airbus is a show stopper and realism killer. And "wrong" function is not the same as "less complex".Releasing a product with this amount of bugs surely is a common scene nowadays but doesn't make it any better.Feel free to ignore my posts from now on. I wouldn't call this a matured behavior but maybe it helps you (surely doesn't consume any arguments). Nice flights.

God forbid you would actually have to use the FSX flight planner to program a star! Gee I wonder what airplanes did before sids and stars... I guess they ended up landing at the wrong airport...Plus I wouldn't buy a product from FSLabs... please uses this tweak otherwise our program can't fit all it's textures.. is that what I should wait for? :)

I have flown it exclusively since I got it. I think it will be a good airplane if they get the handling straightened out. You know, CLS came out with similar functionality (and good looks) in their MD-80, which I also enjoy. Nobody blew a gasket. It has even less of an FMC and also does not support SIDs and STARs. VNAV doesn't work. There is a place for lite airplanes that look super. Nobody has mentioned the Super High Definition artwork, if I'm not mistaken. That sort of thing interests me. Captain Sim did the same with their 707. It makes a huge difference.

They don't have the same FDE, if you look at the files the CFM's clearly have more thrust.
According to Finn at aerosoft they do have the same FDE. I asked about this specifically.
Both engine sounds and flightmodel is the soam for both engine versions. On the real IAE engines engine power is measured in EPR instead of N1 for instance.Finn
And from the product description:
•CFM and IAE engines (though the flight model and displays are based on the CFM).

can you provide the actual link... P.S. never mind found it.. it's not what you originally asked... so I'm going to stop right there and just say. The flight model doesn't have to change, only the engine thrust... do you know anything about physics? :) You ever notice on the FMC where it says engine type... never asks if the aircraft itself has changed now does it?

What isn't what I originally asked? I asked about the FDE and the sounds. Finn answered.Even the product description, which I also quoted, states the same thing. I don't have to be a physics expert to read. lol

Not everyone flies offline with the default ATC you know. If you fly online you will be assigned a star enroute! You cannot use the default flight planner at this point. You cannot pause the flight to manually enter all the waypoints and altitude restrictions, as pause online is a big no-no. And before SIDs and STARs were invented the ATCO wouldnt assign you to a STAR enroute either, so they didnt have that issue obviously

Might be tempted, but not for now. Just because I haven't actually tried the Just Flight A320n, which appears to suit the casual simmers more. Simply put, I'm stuck with school ordealsn which means that I won' have time to learn about the complex systems of an Airbus. It does however provide competition to the Wilco A320s of which were only portovers from FS2004

I fly SIDs/STARs in the real world every week with NO FMC. Autopilot with heading and altitude select towards first waypoint works just fine while I type in the rest of the clearance. It's really not a big deal. I had no idea how fanatical the sim community was getting about SIDs/STARs.

What airline do you fly for?

What airline do you fly for?
obviously a small corporate charter company or something similar. Every airline in America has an FMC capable of sid/stars

Bingo.

No, some of the smaller turboprops don't (Saab 340s, I believe).
