Shaders aren't the job of REX so far, textures only. Check that FS Water Configurator to get a freeware tool for the shaders if you like.

I only use REX to send weather specific textures to the sim. Would I notice any difference by getting this upgrade?

So are the new textures HD whereas the old ones are not?Are we just getting a wider selection?Any improvement in performance?There are many types of cirrus clouds that REX offers, why am I limited to choosing one? Doesn't REX put a combination of all of those in my sky?Oh and thank you so much for your hard efforts!

Looks like they don't. My water was blank. Once I removed Shader 3.0, it worked just fine. That's too bad because I really like the new water textures.Regardless, Overdrive rocks! :-)

REX is very good and I love it . .but that picture you shared looks so unrealistic to me.  

there are certainly a lot of overdone sky sets, but I don't think that's very far off from a tropical sunset.

I seem to recall Tim and ******* discussing the shader mod in another post, for that matter I have used REx HD 4096x4096 textures for over a year and they were fine after installing *******' ENB mod, there shouldn't be any issue with the water.

It works fine with the shader 3.0 mod.I had no problem with the download, got very good speed off their server (15-18Mbit); Many thanks to the REX team for releasing such a significant update - I am still experimenting.
