Hey guys, I was thinking about buying JFK but I wanted to know how accurate it is. I know this product was released a few years ago and JFK is always under construction it seems,. Tell me, have new runways been added, how about the taxiways are they stll the same, are there new terminal buildings? I just wanna know how up-to-date JFK is from FSTD thanks guys.Ron Hamilton

The FAA charts in the KJFK manual are dated from aug/sep 2008. Of course that doesn't speak as to what the scenery has.As the previous poster indicated, you can demo the product, which should answer most questions.

I have it, love it, and its easy on the frames considering where it is.However, I am not familiar with the airport enough in real life to know how up to date it is as far as the terminals go. Like others mentioned, you can install it and demo it for free for about 5 minutes to look around and inspect it.

Thanks. I'm just worried about new runways, frequencys etc. I use Updated AIRAC's so I just wanna be prepared if there is different runways and stuff like that.

To my best knowledge, no changes like new runways / taxiways have been made over the past few years at JFK

I use pretty up to date AIRAC's as well from Navigraph and haven't noticed any problems. Just remember that 22R has an offset localizer by 2.5 degrees.

I live near JFK and have the FSdream team scenery for JFK. It is very accurate. There are some new buldings and terminals built since this scenery was made, But JFK is in a state on constant change.Rob

Currently FSDT's KORD is missing runway 09L/27R. However, Umberto said that at some point in the future they will offer an update that includes that runway. As far as the other new runways that are going to be built as well, i'm not sure. Probably depends on when they are buiilt in real life and what the main sim is at the moment, ie. FSX or Flight. Plus Umberto has mentioned on his forum that they need good hi-res aerial photos to become available that depict the newest runway above before that can proceed with the update.That being said, I own it as well and they did an awesome job on it. Very FPS friendly as well. If you dont already have their KDFW you may want to take a look at it also. I think its probably their crown jewel so to speak since they used a bunch of new technques to texture it. Plus its the only FSX airport I know of that now uses the RWSL system of lights to warn of other a/c on the runway. http://www.rwsl.net/

I love fsdt jfk! kord is awesome too! :( I don't really fly there too much, but they are really some great airports! :( I remember the big shock I had when fsdreamteam first announced jfk awhile back. I was like wow! finally after all these years! :( just make sure like what other's have mentioned to try the demo out and take a look around. but is in amazing scenery. B)

I guess it depends on how you interpret the info as stated by Umberto below on Aug 12th.

Well, new pictures have just appeared so, we can now probably start the update but, to answer your question of "when", we can't say for sure, now, how much it will take.

My take is that they now have the required photos and that they will get to it when they have a chance since they are now working on KLAX and have stated that they are also going to do KMIA at some point or anohter Hawaiian package.Personally, not having one runway wouldn't keep me from owning it especially when the only other option available is using the default version with an updated ADE.

I have both KORD and KJFK, and love them with this one caveat. This is probably some thing wrong with my setup, but several times I have had to reinstall them to get the terminal buildings to show. I believe that this could be a SimConnect issue, as I see two files related to these sceneries in exe.XML file, but I'm not sure. I found out tonight that the buildings have once again disappeared, so I'll uninstall and reinstall again, I guess.Once again, I'm sure that it's me or my system, the scenery is really good.Thanks, Bruce.
