October 26, 201015 yr I use LastPass to help alleviate problems like that. http://www.lastpass.com/Wow, sounds like a good place to stay away from. :(Thanks Bill-I'll look into lastpass. I have something like that on my iphone for business websites etc. Ryan-I didn't even check the altimeter here today-I'll have to have a look. What strange weather! October 26, 201015 yr The only time a legitimate question to a specific product should be answered, is when the developer can't help. It happens sometimes. Outside of that, I think we need to point requests for support to the right people, regardless if you know the answer or not. As John stated, the OP had the answer to his question right on their support forum.
October 27, 201015 yr Oh dear :)Well I did not mean to start WWIII with my suggestion to use our support forums. Couple of things:- Ron, despite his enthusiasm for Orbx (which is appreciated), does not represent our company view- In this age of cookies and browsers, I don't buy into any passwords/inconvenience arguments - I use many companies' support forums and they're one-click away :)- From a developer's perspective it's not nice to see a topic on AVSIM entitled "Lancair problems" in the the week of debut, particularly when the problem reported on AVSIM was already answered quickly on our support forums and would have taken the OP no more time to find his answer on our forums, versus posting here- If you are truly concerned about any potential warts or flaws in a product, surely the place to get a "feel" for that is the vendor's official support forum? That's what I do. On the flip side, we all understand that AVSIM is *the* go-to place for FS discussions on the net, so in some respects I do understand that a daily habit is hard to break :)Hi John. Love your products. I've been following this thread for a couple of days and thought I'd chime in.I can understand your perspective in not wanting to see a topic on AVSIM entitled "Lancair problems" just after release of your fine product. From a customer perspective I put a lot of weight in the problem posts as they often help me decide whether to buy or not. I know this is what you seek to avoid by bad press. However, in the "Lancair problem" post I quickly saw that others did not have the same bad experience as the OP and had quick solutions. This is precisely why I love "problem" posts. And just think, I actually missed all of the ads on AVSIM and elsewhere about the release of this fine product. The "problem" post was the only bit of info that led me to your wonderful product. It also helped me to decide to buy. If this was an example of a problem with your product and was quickly fixed then I was convinced to buy. Once again, AVSIM plays a pivotal role in connecting the flight sim community with software developers and new products.Never fly in the same cockpit with someone braver than you. ________________________________ Ken B. October 27, 201015 yr Speaking of simplicity, how about letting your browser remember your logins and passwords? I'd be lost if I had to remember every password for every site I access. For low security risks like FS forums, it'd be pretty silly not to use 'em because you couldn't remember a login. Let computers do what computer are good at, I say.I can't believe you guys aren't using RoboForm Pro for password management. One time small fee and no more memory farts. Works on the home pc, the laptop and even online when you are away from either. Gotta remember ONE password, but you don't even need that if you are on your own pc or laptop. Just click and go. October 27, 201015 yr Moderator Can I just clarify; there seems to be a user called "Ron Hamilton 1954" and also a user called "N400" (also Ron Hamilton) having a conversation with eachother on this thread. No, they are not the same person. With only three posts on this account, that point alone raises a lot of questions, most of which aren't particularly savory......especially given the rather nasty opinions expressed. :( Fr. October 27, 201015 yr Can I just clarify; there seems to be a user called "Ron Hamilton 1954" and also a user called "N400" (also Ron Hamilton) having a conversation with eachother on this thread. Are they the same person, and Ron has felt it necessary to take on two IDs to make his aggressive and arrogant views even louder, or is it that by chance there are two rude, obnoxious, opinionated people that both go by that name?Thank God Ron does not represent Orbx, as the latter are the finest development house within FS at the moment, and it would be such a shame if they went the way Eaglesoft have gone, all down to one man's hige ego. What the are you talking about? Seriously, Eaglesoft....one huge ego and thank god I dont work for ORBX? I'm sorry there captain but I support ORBX stance on support issues, the end. O ya by the way my name is Ron Hamilton and I was born in 1954...hence the name.ROn Hamilton Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
October 27, 201015 yr No, they are not the same person. With only three posts on this account, that point alone raises a lot of questions, most of which aren't particularly savory......especially given the rather nasty opinions expressed. :(I owe the entire thread an apology then and especially John from ORBX and Ron at Eaglesoft. I thought I was replying to Ron of Eaglesoft, and could not understand why a respected developer would respond to one of my posts in that manner. I blew things way out of proportion, especially since I cannot recall Ron having every said anything negative towards my posts in the past. Regards,John

The confusion over names and posts is ridiculous. My name is Ronald (Ron) Hamilton, I live in Illinois and am founder and Owner of Eaglesoft Development Group. I have used the N400QW forum tag/username for over eight years. There was a kid one class behind in Jr High who had the same name.Past that I've only heard of two others with the same name. One is a Christian singer/songwriter and the other is the fellow at Avsim who uses the forum tag/username RonHamilton1954.I am not related in any way to any of the afformentioned (Ron Hamiltons) and have only met the one fellow in Jr. High.Hope this clears up any absurd claims that N400QW is somehow RonHamilton1954.:( PS: By the way, until this one, my only posts are #21 and #27.

Is that the case?:( Edit. Mods please remove this post. I see the person in question is now a Guest.

Is that the case?:(Actually Ron, yes you do. In fact, you know "Sarah_R" quite well. I wouldn't normally do this in the open forums, but I'm getting sick and tired of this BS. Sarah_R is the reincarnation of former AVSIM member Astradan, who was also former AVSIM member Longyear, who was also former AVSIM member NordicSkies, who was also former AVSIM member Power2ThePeople. This person has had an agenda against Eaglesoft, specifically Ron for quite some time, all for reasons I do not know. I banned this member for creating multiple accounts to spread their agenda and then lying to us all about it. Now they are back once again, and are once again banned from these forums. I will consult with Tom this afternoon and see what can be done to keep this person from returning to spew there filth in the future. My apologies for not having been able to nip this one, but I'm sure Tom will take care of it. Jeremy "rightseater" Fletcher
