...Attacking people who are only enforcing a forum rule makes no sense to me, and it takes absolutely no prowling of any kind to notice when a post is not signed with a full name.
Well, its a very big no-no to play moderator on pretty much every forum on the internet except for the PMDG subforums on AVSim so its not really that strange that somebody reacted to it. Makes perfectly sense in my opinion

Check the TrackIR thread on this board. I've had mine for a day or so now and highly recommend it. With the right settings everything is very natural.

If you can find the right settings, that is... I've had mine for over a year now, and I still hate using it. I've tried setting it up and tweaking it countless times, but it ends up in a drawer every time and I revert to top hat panning.

I started with the seth flight profile & tweaked it a bit to suit me. After work I'll hop on my desktop & post the settings over in the trackIR thread.

I found the internet to be useful to speed up FSX imensly. I have similar specs to yours apart from the core 2 CPU, i run an i7 (but from a laptop) which is on the low end. But i still get frame rates over 30 with addons by doing a few simple tricks. Firstly i run gamebooster which seems to speed things up and i use an external fram rate limiter and run the fsx one at unlimited. I have also teaked the fsx.cfg according to bojotes guide. All these little things have meant that i can gradually move the sliders more to the right side, it is not at max but very close to it and it seems to run add ons like YMML orbyx scenery just fine.Hope this helpsAdnan Somehwere near YMML
Gamebooster is a total placebo effect unless you have a billion background apps running (which you shouldn't on a well set-up system). It can actually cause problems too because it shuts down services - we've seen a lot of people at support have their J41 suddenly stop working or de-register because of GB killing the licensing service on it's own. *******'s tool is good and does improve things, but again I'm talking about running stuff like an FTX region with one of their high detail airports at near max sliders, 100% UT2 traffic, REX2 4096 textures and so on all with a high end addon aircraft. Any system is going to be able to do SOME of that, but I'd be very surprised to see a laptop doing it all at reasonable framrates and high resolution with high AA/AF that makes it actually look good.

I tried gamebooster a couple of days ago. As soon as it started asking me to download & install 3 other app's I got rid of it.

Yeah on top of what I said it's adware/bloatware that's just a way for them to try and sell their paid products.

You may not need to discard this app entirely, just use the beta 1.1 or any version prior to version 2.0. When it asks if you want to update to v 2.0, just say no, the new version is the one with the bloatware and fixes you do not need.I can't say for sure that it has made any difference on my already optimized system (OS and FSX tuned to NickN's recommendations/******* tweaks applied on top of that), but IMHO it doesn't hurt to run it since it does kill some unnecessary services to keep the OS even leaner. It was recommended by many people here in AVSIM who's opinions I trust, so I recommend it (especially if you have a low-mid range system), just do not update it to the latest version, and only use it to kill services, ignore the game defrag and system tweaks options!

Not sure if it is only with my system, 64-bit, but about half of the time I run GameBooster, not only FSX, but also other games seem to crash. When I don't run it, everything runs fine and just as good without it.
