February 13, 201115 yr Nice video *******. I like the lit highways as as you are climbing out. I use FSInn instead of S-Box, are all aircraft truly represented? In FSInn if you do not have a complete library of aircraft loaded in FSX you will experience misrepresentation of aircraft types. Funny thing is I have Ultimate Traffic and I still have issues with aircraft not being represented as their true types and in their own liveries. \Robert Hamlich/
February 13, 201115 yr Commercial Member Very professional Job! …and all the controllers were outstanding too :) I wish I could do this. I used to have the skills to fly Vatsim, but I’m out of practice now. The Vastim experience is pretty intense – in good way. I say anyone who thinks FS is a game hasn’t flown Vatsim. I’ve had some good adventures. I flew 767 lots. But also GA twins and singles both IFR and VFR. The GA aircraft take a lot of confidence because there’s less automation. You’ve inspired me to get back to it.
February 13, 201115 yr *******, really impressive!! I want to give it a try too!! I only need a little bit of confidence. It's great and suprising how close to a real life simulator flying online could be!!CheersIgnacio :( Ignacio aka Tanocapo
February 13, 201115 yr Very well done. You have certainly captured the spirit of VATSIM. VATSIM: P2 | I1

Plan your flight, get you charts and get back out there. Keep doing that and you will feel more and more confident each time you fly online. *******, really impressive!! I want to give it a try too!! It's great and suprising how close to a real life simulator flying online could be!!CheersIgnacio :(Start by reading over the training material over at VATSIM in the Pilot Resource Center There you can read about VATSIM Basics, General Lessons, VFR Lessons and IFR LessonsThe only way to experience it is to get out there and do it. Have fun and good luck. \Robert Hamlich/
February 14, 201115 yr Author You mean ******* actually plays FSX?Specially when you don't see me posting regularly :)
February 14, 201115 yr Specially when you don't see me posting regularly :)Great video, with a good insight to VATSIM! I always wanted to try it, but unfortunately my setup is not conducive to a multiplayer environment, especially one with the needed discipline VATSIM requires. I run FSX on my projector, which is in the family room, since it is open to most of the house, it is subject to a lot of background noise, from the rest of the family. So unless the controllers don't mind listening to the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" in the background, I'm afraid VATSIM is not an option for me. This video did give me an idea for another modification to the default ATC, via EditVoicePack, which I just completed. On Xfer to ground after landing, the tower will now welcome you to the destination. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
February 14, 201115 yr Nice video and nice Vatsim event too. I think that such events really catch some real world flying spirit while just "playing" the sim. Thumbsup for all people behind these things, organizing and planning there to allow pilots to just connect and fly with some great ATC coverage.******* is a pro there it seems and I wonder how many times the Tower asks him about some performance tips before allowing him to land.
February 14, 201115 yr It looks great but like many of these online things, VATSIM would seem to be the domain of the SWF (Single Without Female). In other words someone who has the time to do stints of 2 hours+ without interruptions to walk the dog, take out the trash or put the kids to bed.I guess that's why people like me tend to fly almost always offline, as the real world has a tendency to get in the way. :)Maybe in 20 years when I retire!

February 14, 201115 yr Hey wait a minute..... what the....was that a micro-stutter I detected when taxiing in ? ! ? ...better tweak that system some more ******* :( ...great video man, thanks for sharingGreg

I sometimes fly 15 min flights. If someone does sports, watches TV or surfs the net for hours, he can still have and "maintain" a family, same with online flying. Believe me, I've tried and still do. Just get rid of that TV and start being active when getting entertained for example.Ok, here's the truth about online flying now. Hold your breath http://www.worteldri...flash/emer.html. As you see, emergencies actually DO happen.
