...no new AC systems are simulated...
You made some excellent points, but are demonstrably incorrect with the above. FSX does have quite a bit of "new AC systems" beyond that of FS9. :(

Its kinda hard to criticise something this early in development from a few screenshots and some weak video, dont you agree? There isent even a feature list or release date! People are being overly critical based off of very VERY limited data. I would hope people would wait till a demo or at least more solid info is out before making up there minds, but it seems that many people have already condemmed a product based purely on rampant speculation. Shall we lock this thread then? It's a debate. No one knows what FS Flight will be like, not even HughesMDflyer4! EVERYONE is speculating, including me.I love all this speculation, and we've not had any of this for 5 years! :(

It's getting to the point where I feel this thread might be better off left behind or locked. :Thinking:Not sure what FS Flight is, (:() but there are people that know what MS Flight will be, but are under NDA. I'm sure anyone on avsim that is under NDA would love to tell us more, but they simply are not allowed to. While I don't know what Flight will be, I do have my realistic thoughts and options on what it should be. More people need to think INSIDE the box and not wish for such unrealistic things from the latest version of FS...Flight.

FS was short for Flight Simulator. reference to the "old" name. i'm assuming this was directed at me for it's use in 1 or more of my previous posts.and for the record, my comments about Flight was My opinion only. and i too am Well Aware that it's in early developement. i just don't share the same enthusiasm about it at this point as others do. happy flyin, FM
Thank you for ridiculing an honest discussion. I'm also glad you found this debate amusing. Sometimes people just don't mature with age..Anyways, there are decent, respectable points on both sides. Guess we can just hope for the best, eh?
Do you even know who Phil is/was?

I couldn't agree more... Some here are acting as if Flight should be free from criticism and speculation, if that were the case why even set up an open forum at all. I would rather think, if you can't handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen.Being a member of quite a few tech forums, I can safely say that wild uneducated speculations and opinions about unreleased products is rampant on the internet lol. We all have concepts of what is important to us and what we like / don't like, but at the end of the day it's just discussion between passionate computer pilots. At this time all points, opinions and ideas are valid. Nobody should have to fit their ideas into a box because it doesn't suit another forum members ideas. That's just what I think anyway.

I realized what FS meant, but if you think about it, like I find myself doing, it would read, "Flight Simulator Flight," when the product is actually "Microsoft Flight." Not a big deal, just pointin' it out. I'll shut up now. Big%20Grin.gif

I obviously meant to say MS Flight. :(

I can understand people's emagination fueled by lack of info taking over. It happens. What gets under my skin is when people start to FORCE there speculation onto others. Thats just not cool. If you (not you Fsau spacificly) dont like the game, or dont like what you see, thats fine! Say it, get it out of your system, and get done with it. But when people start to enforce there openion or speculation on others in an attempt to smear something they dont like, then thats going too far. How many times have we heard FSX SP3, or "2 story warehouse house"? Some people seem to have an axe to grind, and dont mind sharpening it on the people poor people who have a positive view of the game.

Jorge Agustín Nicolás Ruiz de Santayana y Borrás isnt a household name but his influence pervades "Flive", Santayana is perhaps best known for his remark that "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it". The resurrected Aces Studio has not followed the FSX paradigm in many ways and the more immediately visible is the dearth of information from the development team. With FSX , Phil Taylor spent innumerable hours following the feedback and was in a position to reply in the forums. Members of the team were actively blogging and assisting developers with conceptual explanations of the games rendering process , to this day those posts form a global view of what didn’t make it into the SDK, a view of how it works on a conceptual level.Flight Live is another direction altogether in marketing and development release information, far more traditional insofar as it closely follows a typical big budget A game in a competitive industry , Teaser Vids and Hyperbole , as a group Simmers are unaccustomed to this kind of treatment , we had the feeling that FS was a brotherhood of sorts. Our shared interest drove a thriving hobby industry with freeware production in the vanguard, keeping the product in the Public Domain and constantly renewable.Little in the current situation resembles the anticipation that developed and grew as FSX was released and serviced , Acceleration added to the enthusiasm, granted there have been parallels as well , starting with the “ Golden Screenshot “ , this time we have a Golden Video in its place , A pre rendered sky and clouds with god rays spilling onto pre rendered water, and being roasted for it in the forums. Perhaps this typical in a current game release but is doesn’t feel like brotherhood aspect of FS is getting the fullest attention this time round and Freeware is History, simple requests for information are ignored and an open dialog with the team is but a distant memory , little else but speculation thrives in these conditions .

I can well imagine why the team wouldn't want to give any info! It's because of how many people just complain about every single thing that's wrong and don't let it go. Why do you think MS is not posting anymore?I would disagree that freeware is history. It has been around in FS for decades. There is no reason to take it away. If MS wants to have their own online market and sell add-ons, they can do that, but there is still likely going to be an SDK, which I would thing would be available for free or in the Flight download/disc.If you don't believe me when I say that an SDK will likely be an SDK, read this: https://careers.microsoft.com/JobDetails.aspx?ss=&pg=1&so=&rw=1&jid=29189&jlang=

The link reads:We are looking for a technical Program Manager to own the graphics and environment features for the game, as well as drive and define the tools and 3rd party SDK... You will work closely with a handful of select 3rd parties to evaluate our tools and documentation as well as our own internal development team to create the SDK.That could well be interpreted as meaning that the SDK is for the handful of select 3rd parties only and not for general release.

Some of the reasons why I think no free addons will be available to us are...This time the devs. been in bed with MS :( free addons means losing $ for both of them, remember they are targeting moms and dads now so if dad see a decent addons for free made by some of the best dev. (like some on avsim) why will they invest $25.00, $30.00 + in the store ....free addons will be from the approved devs. as a bonus like some are already doing to implement what we did buy from them. Also keep in mind that Flight will be online (virtual) and I don't think MS will let you upload something for free who may conflict with the online play (bugs), and again lost of $.Nobody know exactly what will happen but take a step back and (again) ask yourself..."What will make sense for MS and the devs. to do $ wise, letting us been able to upload free addons from good devs.(like some on Avsim) into Flight or us having to buy theirs in the store?" Now on another subject why do you think nobody from Aces or MS is talking to us this time or why are they not at least answering our legitimate questions about Flight...because we were too hard on them last time about FSX :( ,....GIVE ME A BREAK.....some of the devs. are asking us what we would like to see in Flight so what does that tells you....
