Frank- I missed the Lockheeds and DC-10. As a child I often flew from Seattle to Missoula, Montana- that was Western airlines Convair 241. Lucky enough to fly on a DC-7 as a youngest just as they were phased out. Brian Green

February 10, 201412 yr Flown in a fair few aircraft from military such as MB339CB, P-3K, C-130, Seasprite, Huey, - all the way to most Boeings etc. Just the usual commuter aircraft we have all flown on, and the odd chopper like the Hughes 500. But to be honest..I was more excited that posters in this thread managed to find the space bar and enter key on their keyboards..the early posts were painful.... Cam F.

February 10, 201412 yr As commercial passenger: L-1049 (my first ever trip up) DC9 DC10 L-1011 B727 737 747 757 767 777 A318 A320 Convair 580 Fairchild F-27 Beech 99 A number of regional jets and turbo props (never compiled a list) Ride along (several in right seat but not piloting): King Air 350 Piper Cherokee, Piper Arrow C150 C172 Cessna T-41 Beech T-42 Cessna U-3 (military Cessna C310 UH1A Huey CH-47 Chinook AH-1 Cobra (once - a real thril, like a sport bike as an aircraft) C130 C141 C5A C121 (retired military Super Connie, that's it in my sidebar photo) Piloted: Cessna C150 Cessna C172 Cessna T41 (military C150) Beech T42 (military B-55) Cherokee PA-28-180 Most memorable rides: 1992 - got to ride in jumpseat of a 747 flight from St Louis to Los Angeles from around Kansas City VOR (MCI) to approx Peach Springs, Arizona, VOR (PGS). Was invited in by a senior crew making their final flights as they were being furloughed into early retirement following their continuation flight from LAX to Honolulu. Was not able to be on the deck during climb or descent. This came about when I dropped by the flight deck as I boarded and struck up a conversation about their planned route, cruise altiude, and discussed subLogic's Flight Assignment: ATP, that a group of us on Prodigy had formed a virtual airline. Would never have happened if it had not been their last day. 1971 - as flight forecaster at Ft Leonard Wood, Missori, was invited to ride along on a UH1A Huey training flight. The pilots pulled an unannounced autorotation on me. THEY got a kick out of it. I did not! 2004 - friend and I got a ride along on a C121 Super Connie that had been restored at Camarillo, California. The mostly european crew was logging hours to gain type certification prior to their ferry flight from Camarillo to Switzerland. That Super Connie is quite active today at European air shows. My Avsim profile avtar is a photo of me sitting in the left seat (while sitting on the ground). Here are a couple of other photos from that day. I always get a kick out of seeing those two old airline tickets. Each $8.00 total from LAX to Kansas City, plus $1.20 in tax. Also note on the ticket the origination of the name TWA. Transcontinental & Western Air, Inc. Later to become Trans World Airlines.
