Hi all,A good idea would be, to not react on every little comment someone makes.. Someone makes a oneliner thats not really friendly, then 10 people jump over them to defend PMDG, or to attack that person. Best way is to read over it and not react to it.. It only fuels the debate here.. And then the outcome would be, yet another closed thread. I do understand both sentiments though, i just dont type it 24/7 on this forum.. Live and let live:-)

I have long resisted the urge to chime in on this topic for quite a while, and I'll probably regret doing so now.First, I acknowledge a small percentage of folks who just like to create discontent and egg people on purely for the enjoyment.Second, I understand the frustration of those devote flight sim folks who are devote to their hobby. Anyone who says to them "get a life" is just as wrong as either side of the debate. Nobody has a right to tell another how to feel about something they love, whether it's gardening (stay in the English countryside sometime) or flight simming. The person you're talking to maybe someone in a wheel chair who's drempt of flying their whole life, you just don't know. Again, you're just as wrong as someone with a different opinon.PMDG doesn't need anyone to back them up or come to their rescue. They've made their position clear, and while I respectfully disagree with their business and marketing model, I respect that they have the right to run their enterprise they way they wish. I also understand the challenges, frustrations, intra-group dynamics, and handicap they have as I have a strong background in complex software project management (U.S. Navy weapons systems) and marketing (marking director for 2 fortune national financial services companies). Their enterprise does not belong to anyone but them, and they have the right to run it as they see it.As consumers, we have the right to vote with our pocketbooks, and the right to express our opinion about a customer service and especially a product. But there is no product yet. When the cake (737NGX) is baked, I'll bet the edges will be a little charred (over developed), but that is better than being under cooked. So, what I'm saying is that everyone is right, and everyone is wrong, probably me included. I'm down to visiting the site once every two or three weeks rather than daily, and if it bothers you to see no updates and no release (the lack of true project status updates does bother me too) then consider doing what I do, focusing elsewhere until it's done, then we'll have our cake!We all share the love of this hobby to different degrees, and I for one am happy just to have to guys like the PMDG group devoting their time, money and effort to increasing my enjoyment of the hobby. Thanks so much for your time.Dave

Thanks Ryan for the update!

I have said this before but I can only continue to shake my head. First off PMDG is a developer and not a chain store like Target. What I mean is they know how to make simulated aircraft very very well. Where they fall short is in the customer service area, I.E. This Forum. It is a mistake to make a BIG announcement about a future project throw out some pictures and say "You will be blown away!" "The likes of this have never been seen before!" and then wonder why people get a little excited. I understand they are frustrated but there are two other devs who are in the exact opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to forum interaction. One says "We have began working on this." and you never hear another word until the aircraft is available. The other say's "We are working on this" and stays very very active in there forum with updates and tech support. PMDG makes the mistake of being in the middle of the two. What I cannot understand is why they get so upset or frustrated over people asking questions and wanting more information? They should be honored that people are making such a big deal about their product! Without the customers they are done plain and simple. I do not care if they give updates but what I do care about is this king of the hill attitude toward their customers. I buy their products because they are the best plain and simple. If this was a popularity contest, I would never buy another one of their products again. I am thankful they do what they do...really. Just know that if you run around in circles carrying a hot dog you will have every dog in the neighborhood chasing you around. Run with it or drop the hot dog.Oh do not get frustrated PMDG! If you say something like....(We are working on it guys, we hit some snags and are sorry for the delay. Thank you for your support and patience with us and sorry for the confusion about the release dates.) then I think all will be well. On second thought you could stick with the "That's it you are out of here!" technique, that seem to be working well.

Thanks very much for the update Ryan and Vin :) Greatly appreciated by the non-trolls.

Thank you Dave for some common sense discourse that I think really sums up what's going on here.... a mix of frustration, anticipation, boredom and desire. The NGX was "officially" announced by my recollection over 1 1/2 years ago. I am not in any way a software developer, let alone a flight sim software developer so I have no way of gauging whether 2 months or 2 years is "fair" in terms of how long a product like this should take to come to market once it's announced. I think PMDG's products are best-in-class by a long shot, but I admit to being a little "frustrated and bored" that we haven't seen the NGX yet. The few screen shots and videos they've leaked only serves to fuel the desire. Obviously we all want the product to function as promised and I suspect the level of authenticity being promised is a very high bar for a bunch of guys that have day jobs too. I will leave it to Robert and his crew to determine the right time to release this product. I can't say I've ever been disappointed with any of the other wonderful PMDG products I've bought in the past. Waiting really sucks...... :)Flightsim Phil

To the guy saying "maybe they're in a wheelchair, and always dreamed of flying," there are thousands of other things to do in flight sim, like fly one of other PMDG models, teach yourself how to fly an NDB approach, to minimums, with wind, or anything else. There are millions of other things to do outside of the sim, too.On another note:I find it funny when people chime in on PMDG's business model and how they handle their "customer service" issues (it's PR, by the way, CS is more along the lines of helping people reach an intended end goal or manage a problem).I'll put it this way:Their system is making them money.Your hypotheses just irritate people and get you no money.Guys, I've said this time and time again, just as Ryan said it:Your petulant posts about supposed lack of updates and how things should be run only drives them further into their hole of silence. Stop.If you think it's that bad, go start up a company to create models of this caliber yourself.Don't want to?Then keep your mouth shut.Sit patiently.Come back when you can't fly the NG, because you didn't read the manual. I'll be right here, along with the others, answering your questions.

I can see PMDG going back to the 747 policy of keeping us in the dark about a new model being worked on until release to the same minute they put it for sale in their website. And if they do I will understand completely and nobody will be entitled to question their decision. We have earned it many times over..

That is welcome news. I am still learning the MD-11 and program 40 failures to deal with on each flight that I take. Needless to say, I don't think in all sincerity that the NGX will come close to the crew alerting system and other electronics displaying the consequences, status and automated systems. I get a lot more out of trying to solve inflight cautions/emergencies and that is why I personally feel that the NG will not have the 'built-in functionality' that the MD-11 systems possess. I hope I'm wrong, but I honestly don't think that I will be after I purchase it. Just my 2 cents....Well see..:( jen noulet

I wanna buy the NGX, but I won't be buying the first-released version of it. I'm gonna wait for bugs, etc to be ironed out in updates and/or servicce packs. Waited a fair while already, so what's a little bit longer?
Thats what your so called "delays" are solving.

I'll reiterate what others have been saying. Go fly other aircraft! I went back to flying the 747 after a little break. I'm thinking of getting the Leonardo MD-80 to hold me over. To those that have it...Is it worth getting? It'll be putting it away when the NGX comes out.Ryan... that was a great update. No need for the long drawn out ones that take time away from development.I can see how they are good for marketing though.

If pmdg can release a product this complex without ever having to release a patch or update I will purchase the T777 for every member on this forum when its ready.Disclaimer:The above statement is complete BS I will do no such thing.

They can't test their product against every computer system setup in use, so obviously there's going to be a patch or update or two. I don't know of any PMDG (or other developer) product that hasn't been patched or updated at some stage.
