As I understand it, our current info is that there are two beta phases. The first focusing on systems accuracy, involving experienced pilots & such. It is progressing pretty smoothly with the known list of issues/tweaks below 25% of its highest point & diminishing regularly. After that's done is the functionality phase, where it's tested on a variety of computer configurations. They're expecting that phase to last only a short time, a couple of weeks maybe.DISCLAIMER: I'm working off my memory here, which leaks about as badly as the Titanic...

Also, if I am reading RSR's posts correctly, Beta testing is done in two stages. First by a core group and then by a wider group, which is when we'll apparently be able to receive more info on the NGX from the testers. I think it's currently still with the smaller core group at this stage. Might be wrong, though!

If you read the last update by RSR again, he says they had hoped the beta would move to the wide test team last week, and a few days after that an estimated release date would be announced. As we're now going into Wednesday of the following week, I think it's a safe bet that didn't happen and we're still looking at weeks ahead of us.RSR also said in a recent thread the plane would be in our hands soon, but...I'm not sure what that means. All we can do is keep waiting, and waiting, and waiting.......and waiting.......

RSR said they have 2 mile-markers to... reach (OM and MM???- don't know what exactly he was talking about) and he was expecting to pass them this week. After that he would have more news on a release date.
We still have those two mile-markers I mentioned in my previous post- but we should pass those this week. Once we are beyond them, I'll have some news on a release date. Stay tuned!

I think its a play on words. The thread is regarding the NGX Final Approach. OM and MM would stand for outer marker and middle marker respectively. This corresponds to the "approach" theme that they are using.See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marker_beacon

I think you're reading too much into it.
Probably, but what else would OM and MM mean?

Guys, we shouldn't analyse every single word the PMDG team has written. Honestly I have been reading some analyses which go really to far. I mean, this is still only a piece of software. Nothing else. This is not something which will kill you after it's released! (Hopefully that doesn't sound rude now)And besides, would you like it when someone analyses every word you make? It is no wonder that PMDG doesn't say that much about the NGX when we're acting like that.Just my 2 cents.

Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!
