What is the obsession with the Autoland?

Why do people even care or wonder how others use their product? ....this thread is bizarre. They bought it, they can use it as they see fit. If they want to use autoland all the time or hand fly all the time it is up to them. I guess I just don't understand why some of you care so much how other people use this video game to even post...lol. What am I missing here? ....do people autolanding in severe clear weather some how effect you?

And why do you even care why people care? And why do I care that you care that they care? I don't know!!

Pleased to meet you Fred.Most of the 757/767 pilots I've been working with don't rely on VNAV way before TA.But maybe aren't we speaking of the same real life.

Back to the original post, if someone bought the NGX to sit back and watch the aircraft do the work, that's fine.. If you want to use real world procedures, there's more than one way to fly it.. To each their own.. Enjoy what ever you enjoy.. I'd like to be a porn actor, but have no choice but to just sit and watch.. haha..

Sorry Paul but this is wrong.Very few things are left today to the pilot's "taste".Airlines decide the conditions of manual landings and 80% of Airbus landings are done via autoland actually.

Hi David, I totally agree with you!!! I am simmer a long time and always heard and read that real pilots whenever possible, fly automatically, including land.It makes no sense to land a 737 manually if we have an autoland function onboard.

I didn't know you were a real world pilot, I thought you were just an simmer with a home cockpit set-up...Are you a RW pilot?
