FSX is already a niche game. and Xplane is even more so. Let's face it, most gamers are more interested in fps and/or rpg's. Many of them think flight sims are boring.

XPlane10 is eye-candy - but FLIGHT is where my real dreams and hopes are centered. At the heart of simming is sight-seeing, and if the 'virtual world' being offered isn't modeled after the REAL world, well, that kind of puts the KIBOSH on sight-seeing, yeah?
+1 billion. If you go VFR flying in FS, you should be able to look for roads, land classes, mountains, bodies of water, etc and be able to determine where you may be at. With X-Plane 10, that doesn't seem very possible. This is what I've always liked about the MSFS series, and it looks like Flight just improves the experience.

I concur. I will most definitely buy XPlane10 as an 'alternative' but my heart belongs to FSX and "Flight" whenever it gets released. Someone could make a billion bucks if they could write an online optimizer that could make all the add-ons interoperate with FSX at best possible performance levels. ******* Bojote has a pretty cool FSX Configuration Tool (ONLINE) but someone needs to go "one louder now" to take it to 11!I notice when I load up all the add ons that performance suffers and I encounter random problems. Example, having FS Commander, FSBuild 2.x, REX2 OD, UT2, UTX and GEX all loaded then trying to film using FRAPS along with Squawkbox 4 Networked from my laptop things are not so great, even on an Intel core-7 2600k at 4.73GHZ with a msi GTX580 core clock overclocked to 1000mhz. Throw in YouTube's compression algorithms on video submissions and you get videos that are not the level of quality that one might hope for. Thus my secret dream is that Flight will do more - better - sharper - clearer - and faster and take advantage of SLI technology and multi-core CPUS. Throw in DX11 and my hopes soar. I can only say the suspense alone is killing me.Happy Thanksgiving to you pilots and ATC's. Remember, the #1 cause of aircraft accidents is PILOT FATIGUE.

My understanding is that X-Plane 10 will include Real roads, land class, and terrain (mountains and bodies of water). The part that is not real (the plausible world) are the 3D buildings, which are just generic auto-gen buildings.Take a look at this: http://www.x-plane.com/2011/11/how-plausible-is-plausible/

You should be able to look for those in MFS but your success in finding them will be directly related to where you happen to be flying. Let's try Vancouver Island in FSX. Let's fly from Port Alberni to Bamfield by following the Alberni Inlet, wait a minute, Microsoft forgot to put in the Alberni Inlet. Maybe we can fly from Gold River to Nootka Island following the Muchalat Inlet, except Microsoft forgot to put in the Muchalat Inlet and left out Nootka Island (all 206 sq mi of it). How about flying from Port McNeill to anywhere, but wait, where is the town of Port McNeill in FSX (did Microsoft leave out the whole town)? Yup.

Even Microsoft are not excited about Flight.
