September 4, 201114 yr Great topic, great reading. Just flew into FACT with a similar setup, PMDG got it dead on!! -Iain Watson-
September 4, 201114 yr Flap 40 landing attitude. The quality is absolutely terrible (thanks Samsung phone, learn how to deal with movement please!), but zooming in you should see the average attitude, which was a fraction below the 2.5* nose up pitch line....so lets call it 2.4* or so. Thanks Simon. I presume that was on a 3 degree glideslope? In which case the PMDG NGX is indeed too low at zero degrees pitch. And the manuals are right when they say 2- 2.5 degrees up Martin Wilby

September 4, 201114 yr Hi Simon First of all I would like to thank you for your you extensive reply to my 'blocks to blocks' question regarding B738 ops. I couldn't have imagined your output... fantastic :-)) I have another question I noticed in one of your posts you now have the PMDG B73. I am really interested to know how you set up the visuals on your PC to give you as close to RL as possible. I have been an ardent 2D panel user simply because it gives me the ability to glance quickly between the instruments and 'out the window'. In VC at 1 x zoom I find it dificult to do this and feel out of control. If I pull back in VC it seems wrong. I have also instated the widescreen view in my FSX.CFG which seems to give a better field of view and also enhances the feeling of speed. So... once you've had a play, would you mind telling us how you set your PMDG B73 visually ? Once again, thanks for your fantastic input to my simworld. Kind Regards Mark LindleyGrantham, UK
September 4, 201114 yr The OP should write a movie script !! He has a " WAY " with words. Mark+1 And thank you very much Simon for this great topic!Invaluable information! Mauricio Brentano
September 4, 201114 yr I'd like to say thanks to Simon for providing us with one of the most informative and interesting threads on the forum. It was such a hood read and your time is much appreciated. Gavin Price
September 4, 201114 yr Looks the same as mine when I'm in a similar config. Well I can see what he means, I did the exact same thing as Simon 61 tons alnding weiight flaps 40 and I saw a zero degree nose up, which in simons pics was about 2.4 degrees.. So I would also say that the NGX seems a bit off.. :) But that beeing said I think it's a minor thing right now. PMDG still has the activation problem, and if it really is a little bug, PMDG will fix it, I am sure :) Anders Weber ATPL(A) Student EKBI - Billund, Denmark

September 4, 201114 yr EDIT: As Hellfire, will leave this thread to Simon and his great tellings! Anders Weber ATPL(A) Student EKBI - Billund, Denmark
September 4, 201114 yr Yeh, well, I can post my pic in the other thread about this, I leave this thread to the OP to carry on his great stories...... -Iain Watson-
September 4, 201114 yr Hi there, Simon. Well, you moght get bored by now, but i too want to thank you for the insight and an excelent read.I never had the opportunity to speak to a RL Airliner Pilot before and reading your wonderful, well, unconventional PIREP i felt like i was talking to one now and he just took the time to tell me little admirer and poor little PC simmer how the real guys do the flying. Thank you so much. This is great! BTW. Thank you for the pics from page three.I think they do one thing in particular very well: They show extremley well, HOW ABSOLUTELY STUNNING REALISTIC THE NGX REALLY IS!Oops, sorry for the caps...but i actually leav it that way, because it is really that big...sorry, hit the CABS key, though. But i take this to thank PMDG for their absolutelly pristine work of art with the NGX.This Airliner is finally worth reading and learning all the stuff by heart. And this i will do. Greetings from germany, Mario. Mario - Michael Pietzsch EDHM i5 2400 / MSI P67A-GD53 / 4GB Kingston RAM / Win7 x64 / Gainward GTX 560 Ti Phantom / 1TB Samsung Spinpoint

As I've said in previous posts, I'm not bothered if PMDG fix it or not. If not, it's easy to fix ourselves if we feel the need. The only thing that raises an eyebrow for me, is the individuals that insist on altering drag scalars and all manner of settings in the aircraft cfg... bad idea. Martin Wilby
