Lol, oh I read the manual, actually printed about half of it before I ran out of ink. Wife was nice and happy about that. This happened to me once when I Alt + enter out of fs and as you can see I am not short of cpu or memory though my graphics could use a revamp. I managed to get it to go away by minimising fs in windowed mode then bringing it back on screen and Alt + Enter to full screen again. I cant see it as anything to do with shockwave lights because I dont use them. I never had the scenery go mad though just the ngx which looked exactly like that. Regards

Alright guys....This is going to blow your minds like it did mine.....or maybe not. Maybe you all knew/know this already.... This is what a fresh install looks like for me now....no tweaks....default cfg, no HIMEMFIX or any of that jazz.....I just don't understand. The only thing I have running is ATI Tray tools....and I just used my saved profile from the last install....I just don't understand....it makes me want to cry......why?!!!!?!?!?!?! -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------First, I would like to point out that the 23~ was average for this weather setting.... Also, my panels don't have that pattern to them anymore, so matter how far I zoom out....I used to have like a checkerboard shadow over them when zoomed out all the way. Second, All my jaggies are GONE! I spent weeks trying every little thing I could to get rid of them. They were little, and only showing up at certain zoom levels and angles, but I they would not go away no matter what setting or tweak I applied..... Please disregard the low FPS....for me this is good....even though it is down into the teens, my flight is still super smooth...I don't know why. I have never been able to see a different between ~14 to ~30.....No stutters, no lockups, no texure popping....NOTHING!!!!!!!!!Again, forget the ~13 ~14 FPS, it is smooth!!! As a rule, I usually always when testing settings for best FPS, I load up Major Thunderstorms, and set it to Dawn, or Dusk....I don't know why, but I think it makes my computer work the hardest, so I can see my minimums....I can't believe this guys......this is what I have been trying to achieve from the time I bought this game..... So, I really don't understand it. With all my tweaks before, I could not do this, or get this quality looks with such good performance. Ya, I will not touch anything. The only thing from here on out is I will be adding Frame Rate Friendly airports as I need. Flying on VatSim like I do, I need to have newer versions sometimes....

That's exactly the reason why I stopped using tweaks years ago. They may work wonders for a lucky few but for many people they cause more problems than they solve. It's especially annoying when some of these problems go unnoticed for quite some time and only rear their ugly head when something new like the NGX comes into the mix. By then one has forgotten about the applied tweaks and they are not suspected to be the culprit. Instead the new add-on and their support will have to take the blame. I've seen it happen many times, especially with the bufferpools tweak and similar ones. Whenever someone feels the urge to try out a new tweak he or she should pause for a second and ask him/herself: "The developers of FSX probably knew about this function... if it's so good, why didn't they activate it by default or at least put an option for it into the menus?". The answer usually is: "Because it's not fully implemented and breaks other stuff".

For the future I would definitely go for at least 6GB of RAM. Under Win 7 64 bit edition a 32 bit application like FSX can use up to 4GB of RAM only for the application. The rest would be reserved for the system.

That screwed up plane thing happened to me 2 different times. So if you did either of the following it might be the reason you had the problem with the messed up plane. 1) I installed 3.0 Shader Mod and then tried to remove it later on resulting in what happened to you. (This required a comlete reinstall of FSX to fix). 2) Had a messed up install of FSDT KLAX demo and that caused the planes to get all junked up. (Did not have to reinstall FSX this time) The fix was to Uninstall the Demo and FSDT Addon Manager. Since I have other FSDT airports and they need the Addon Manager to I got the latest from FSDT website and installed it. After that everything was back to Normal.

Hi WilliamJSS Glad to see you sorted out your issues with your 737NGX. I was interested in your comments about running PMDG's 737NGX as your computer spec almost exactly matches my own and eventually I'd like to have a 737NGX in my own hanger, but have been put off a little by some of the comments regarding having to run it on top of the range PC's. Our's I think would be classed as middle of the road systems these days. Thanks for the Pics too, always nice to see FSX pics on here Regards.

Sounds like something was corrupted and the last install session fixed it. Maybe a bad tweak or something of that nature. Grats getting it to run the way you wanted, now all that remains is reinstalling your other addons one at a time until you've got everything back the way you want.

You don't need a 4.8ghz sandy bridge or a gtx570 card to run the ngx, you just have to be content with lower scenery/traffic settings

@Jigsaw,Yep, I am only going to live within my means now. If my computer can handle the addon, then cool, if not....oh well. As of now, my PMDG is running great and looks great to me. All is good. No more tweaking for me, as it just gives me a brain aneurysm. @Member,That is next on my list. A whole ago, like 2 years, 3 gigs was fine, but now I am seeing you are right. Better to have more than I need than not enough. Do you recommend any good gaming, or high performance memory? My MoBo only supports 1333Mhz I believe, so that would be it. Also, FYI. I have noticed no FPS drop at all between using Multi Sampling AA compared to Super Sampling AA, only a better picture. Is this normal? I thought that the super sampling that ATI Tray Tools offers will slow FSX down.....Seems my performance is better than what my computer should be giving me.....

What exactly does the demo allow you to do? Is it missing things, or a time limit or whatnot....I am interested, as I own no FSDT products, and would like to see how bad it is for my system.... I know one thing, FlyTampa does not agree with my system....lol

The Demo is fully functional with everything the Paid Version has. The buildings just dissappear after 5 min of use. They will not come back until you restart FSX again. This allows people to test out the scenery on their computers to see if it runs well before buying it.

To make life easier..Make Back up Images and document along the way, saves you plenty of time if you get in to trouble.I got 4 BU-Images along installation path, and can reinstall with in 30 mins to 4 certain points.. BO
