David, I have no issue with you also, my post are not to be taken on a personal level. This is your forum and you do what ever you want with it (referring to your point 1-2 and 3) and as I said before that's no skin of my nose,I may rub peoples the wrong way sometimes and we may not see things the same way but I will always call it like I see it. Let me just finish by saying that I am surprised by the fact that you had to write a notice because of me underlining the possibility of something happening in the future, I don't think that I was out of line by expressing my opinion on this specific subject. Lets close this discussion by saying that we now understand each others.

Good or bad "stuff coming at us?"

Tony, He doesn't work for MS or he has broken a NDA every time he has spoken to you about Flight.

Well, he says he's happy. And he does have a PMDG banner, so...hmmmmm...maybe Flight will have the high detailed aircraft systems and stuff we were hoping for. Big%20Grin.gif

Well, I suppose that may be more reliable source of information than the cleaner's cat but...

In all honesty, I'm hoping for MS Flight. Reason is the VC has instruments as you might have noticed. Think this sets FS apart from other kind of flying games where you fly the aircraft as part of the game, not the game itself. The Maule looks much better, as you've seen, there is also a shadow in the cockpit. Now these are pictures. Pictures say more than words yet less than videos. The gauges might be a nice decorated bitmap, yet it might be a fully animated gauge with nearly no stutter. Same goes for the shadow. I seriously think that it is a bit stupid to say that this is just a game since why should MS mention the past with the simulator? Well we'll see, but I'm 99% sure that this will be one awesome simulator. I know that most of you do not agree but again, even if it is a simulator and meets all expectations, some will still grumble and moan. Regards

It will be a one awesome simulator, not everybody will get everything they want but that's life. MS changed their FAQ content to ease some of our concern, like I said from the beginning, MS is listening, for years 3rd party developers were getting feedback from us about what was not working with FSX also discovering it themself by making addons, so who's is in the best position to feed MS with what should be fixed.....all of us including 3rd party developers.
And the "news" sound even more like they are building a "fun game" more than a sim like the MS Flight Simulator has been. "creating pretty aircraft and scenery", "creating a fun flying game", "fiddle with the knobs and switches in the cockpit"? There might be some fun in it for everybody (even the so called "hardcore-simmers") but it´s more and more obvious that it isn't a "successor" of FSX.
No, their just adding more variety so that people with little experience can have more fun. And it is the succesor to FSX no doubt, just look at the comparison screenshots.

AGREE!
It's still only Hawaii :-(
That's because Hawaii is a great template for showing off graphics and whatnot. I'm sure they'll include the rest of the world. *crosses fingers*

Ok lets just say you were on that (lets call it the hot seat) you were in charge of keeping the hardcore fans up to date , but this time you also had to keep the nobs interested in the new release. How would you do things ?

Whoever the nobs are, I have the strong feeling that up to now nobody except the "hardcores" are interested in Flight and reads and re-reads the website over and over again, does comparision shots and goes crazy about Flight one or the other way. Outside of this biotope Flight doesn´t exist at all. The marketing of MS so far is very restricted (PC-Pilot, what else?). The website could be done in 15 minutes and it shows.Does anybody think what they released so far is going to attract new customers? Flying 3 different GA planes in an absolutely empty, dead world with one airport? Can´t wait for it! And don´t forget the beautiful fine prints called "news" and "FAQ" with all this detailed, stunning information that makes your mouth water! Of course, some nerds have sleepless nights if there are 6 new cloud screenshots on, but the rest of the world couldn't care less... So - does anybody think a few words about the "simulator" aspect, about the "world", accurate system modeling, ATC and flight model in that sneaky news section or in PC-pilot would repel Joe Sixpack from Flight? I doubt it. How I would handle it? I would give information to the hardcore-scene and 3PD about the sim-aspects and discuss them in advance to please them and to gather support for the project. When the "game" is on final approach then I would launch a game-oriented campaign in the popular PC-games magazins and on TV and bring up a fancy website that stresses the game aspects, missions and visuals with some expensive trailers and screens. How about that?

Flo B.

Maybe the corporate ship is sailing through troubled waters. Maybe the financial uncertainty we see in the world today has cast doubt over the viability of the entire project. Maybe we'll be lucky to see it finished at all in which case we should get down on our knees and pray for the courage of those on whose graces we so crucially depend. Oh, Lord!!?

Wow, most of you are seriously messed up.
