April 2, 201214 yr I think that whoever named these waypoints liked Science Fiction. One Chicago approach seems to be based off of Star Trek characters. The first waypoint is TREKI, then there are a few more waypoints with the name of characters (I think KIRKE or something was one). I also found a waypoint in Seattle called EYWOK. -Bram Osterhout
April 2, 201214 yr Nav Canada, which handles ATC in Canada, renamed several Montreal-area waypoints and procedures after Montreal Canadiens hockey legends. -- Maurice Richard (MORIC), Jean Beliveau (BLIVO), Doug Harvey (ARVIE), Guy Lafleur (LAFLR) and Bob Gainey (GAINY). Cheers, Bruce Campion-Smith
April 2, 201214 yr TULIP was mentioned by Nixon I often wondered if it had anything to do with this danish company http://tulip.dk/ , http://www.tulipfoodcompany.com/ "Tulip Food Company dates back to 1887, when a private slaughterhouse was founded in Vejle. That development was part of the move towards industrial food production in Denmark." As it states on their site. Vejle though Jutland eastcoast is "close"/related to EKBI Billund Airport. (by the way :Waiting: I am not into promoting slaughterhouses :Pig: - I am vegetarian :Bring It On: ) All the best. Jens Jens MichlasFrederiksberg, Copenhagen Denmark

Al I would love to see consecutive wayoints in UK airspace named BLACK ADDER... Jim BarrettLicensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic, Avionics, Electrical & Air Data Systems Specialist.
