November 25, 201114 yr Could someone enlighten me of the attraction wanting to fly Business jets please?I haven't posted this to decry from PMDG sales so please don't assume that but would dearly like to know where the attraction of flying one consist's of?Flying the normal passenger jets gives you the feeling of doing it for real with the passenger and cargo weights to cater for and there is a certain amount of realism in doing so. I have never been inside a BBJ, I have only seen pictures of them.If I was lucky enough to ride inside one I may see the attraction so am I to assume that loads of people that flightsim have? Please give me the comparisons? Thanking you in anticipation. Dave Taylor
November 25, 201114 yr I think that the captains flying the BBJ's do it for the same feeling you're flying the passengerliners. It's all in the experience with is personal for every pilot.Cheers, Maarten Schot PMDG 748 - PMDG JS4100 - PMDG MD-11 - PMDG 737 9800-7600 NGX GEX - UTX - REX2.0

Yeah - I'm with you - I've never had any interest in any of the BBJ's and I've thought the same question before - LOL - so you're not the only one... If I wanted to fly a private jet - I'd be looking at the style of jet Eaglesoft produces - not some big 737... Don't get me wrong - I like flying the 737 - it's just the passenger/cargo types are the only ones that interest me... To each his own - though - we've seen plenty of BBJ screenshots - so I'm sure they have a large following as well... :(Regards,Scott
November 25, 201114 yr What makes the 737 NG BBJ interesting for me is to fly a smaller jet on long distance trips, where I usually have to use either the MD11 or 747.And the range of a BBJ is far ahead of a e.g. Citation X. So with the BBJ you can fly nonstop Londen - Los Angeles. ------------------------ Regards, Otto Schäfer

November 25, 201114 yr Author Fly where you want, when you want.Doesn't happen with airlines.Yes but, I do that all the time using 'FSBuild'. I thought everyone did? Dave Taylor

November 25, 201114 yr Then get a Falcon 7X, approx. same range as a 737-700ER You'd be hard pressed to find a sim for FSX that models any bbj correctly. With the NGX you have to actually take care of the airplane, and do things correctly. While eaglesofts products are a step in the right direction, they lack systems depth that certain simmers long for. I'd like to be able to study for a type rating with any of these addons, or else it's not worth it. Just a personal opinion though! November 25, 201114 yr Thanks, so you actually fly that amount of distance in the sim?I did it indeed 3 times with the MD11 and the 747-400 from Munich to SF, but it is quite a while ago, as it is somehow boring. From Europe to NY is enough and even this can't be done with the CitationX. And as we will never see a Gulfstream or Falcon with the quality of a PMDG product, the 737 BBJ is the only choice. ------------------------ Regards, Otto Schäfer

Range of the Citation X is over 3200NM, and as far as I know, London to NY is only 3000? Regards, Renzo Marcus
