Im not going to plan anything before its proven that MS flight is not stupid arcade game and will have whole world without need to pay anything more, unless its in very high detail then I could pay for different continents, but I doubt that. But if its going to be simulator with whole world (which I doubt) and supports both free and payware addons same way that fsx does, then I will probably move to it in some years when there is enough good quality addons for it.

Read the FAQ and news releases. There's your proof.

Do any of you honestly find it challenging to fly the C172 in FSX? How about the 737?What's all this "omgzz it's going to be arcade" junk? Microsoft would have to go out of their way to make it easier to fly and what would be the point exactly? It's not like the basic dynamics of flight are especially difficult for the default planes anyway.

I have seen it all many times and still cant find the proof.

Well if they make their whole engine less realistic then it wouldnt be very easy to make realistic flying addon planes for it, in case that it really supports third party addons like FSX.

I guess if everyone takes that tack, Flight will be a financial failure and won't be around in 2015...for the price of a meal for two I think I'll support yet another contender in the flight sim world-after all it is in our best interests to have flight sims being developed...I thing most would agree it has been a dry last 4-5 years in terms of new sim development...
Definitely agree Geoff. I will be in the pre order queue and will be anxiously awaiting my DVD/download whatever.I for one am really glad that MS stayed with the franchise.

There has been a lot of nonsensical "speculative" talk about Flight from the first screenshot and it has not stopped. Although everyone is entitled to their opinion I prefer a more educated opinion based on some fact. Like an official announcement from Microsoft.I for one will be purchasing Flight after the completion of my new pc build, which I have set money a side for the past year or so.I read people saying that there will be only Hawaii scenery for Flight. Just%20Kidding.gif where do you come up with this stuff? You really think, a company like Microsoft who brought us....well many of us any way, from ms 1.0 to FSX improving with every release, will make a disastrous move like building a simulator with only one area? If that were true, then they should also change their catch phrase from "as real as it gets" to "as stupid as it gets" then might as well close shop and turn off the lights.I will be probably purchasing Flight and also XP-10. they both have great features which i enjoy.

Well, first the fact that all pictures are from small planes and Hawaii only is quite suspicious as Flight is already going to beta stage. Also if there was whole world I would say that it would read in their website as its impressive to hear that game has whole world with almost all airports modeled. Also lets not forget that developer team of FSX lost their job and development of new flight sim was stopped. Why would Microsoft then quickly change their mind and develope flight SIMULATOR? From flight website you can read that they want to apply for wider audience.By summing up this evidence I would say that they are developing flying game for more mainstream gamers, and not a simulator. Ofc they say that also old FS users could enjoy it, but it wouldnt be first time when good game serie is ruined in eyes of original players to make it attractive to mainstream gamers.

The day/month/year people upgrade will be directly proportional to how good or bad the sim is once released and the user reviews start pouring in. If FLIGHT is a home run and runs flawlessly on current hardware the conversion to it will be rather swift with both users and developers migrating over en masse. If it sucks then I guess we will see you in 2015. To make any kind of statement before release is insane. I personally have learned my lesson from FSX and will not be buying anything until after I have read many many glowing reviews.Mark.

There will never be GLOWING reviews from any product.....people react in different ways and for every positive review you will have 5 negative reviews...fact of life. I will try the demo first, emphasis on ( I ). If the demo sucks it will show.Personally I think Microsoft is downplaying the hype until the release. How many times have we heard about a new product so much and got so excited over it and after its out you say #####?, that's it? especially true with movie sequelsDoh.gif

Microsoft already had plans in place for "Flight" before ACES was sacked, as far as I'm aware...

Do you think we'd be having this conversation if ACES didn't screw up with lousy performance from FS9 to FSX? If FS9->FSX went as well as FS2002->FS9 did, I don't think there'd be as much "how bad will MS screw up this time" hype.

One bad release in 25 years and people seem to think that there is a high potential of another failing release? Just wow....
Well, taking into consideration the following...Age of EmpiresVistaZuneWin MeLately the offerings from atop Mt. Redmond have met a little bit of a snag, but that could purely be due to poor upper level management practices.Of course, it's just a humble, somewhat irrelevant opinion from a nobody.

You seem to be missing my point. FSX was screwed up on. Did that happen so badly in the past? It was released incomplete and full of bugs.
