December 12, 201114 yr Commercial Member I am not selling anything ! I have no vested interest in Laminar or it's product, except as a past user and a potential v10 customer, if and when I feel comfortable enough to get it !So what business is it of yours what Cameron does with Laminar? Want XP10, buy it. Don't want it? Don't buy it. I've said it 1001 times. It really is as simple as that.Did no such thing ! Take a look at some of the words and phrases used by you and/or CameronB :"Perfectly acceptable, valid..."; "You and me both, my friend" ; "Have a pleasant evening!" ; "Over and out on this one.."; "Happy simming!", etc.I wasn't looking for acceptance or validation from him or you ! I hate when people try to be condescending or patronizing ! Who talks like that ? Why do some of those phrases have to be used as punctuation by the likes of you and CameronB ?Yeah you did. How did you say it? "Pardon me! But I don't need acceptance or validation from you. NONE NECESSARY!" or something along those lines. That looks like a "shut up and mind your own business"So making an effort and treating you with respect by saying "my friend" or "have a nice evening" is not good now? Answering you nicely, it's condescending and patronizing. Answer it with what is perceived as anger or frustration, it's "you're being hostile and aggressive"Honestly, with you and people like you, it's like "heads I smack you on the left cheek, tails I smack you on the right cheek".We just can't win.
December 12, 201114 yr Commercial Member TimIn all seriousness, and with as much courtesy and respect as I can muster, can you show us an example of someone asking a question and a "representative" showing anger and hostility in return. And 2 posts later .. an example is provided! So what business is it of yours what Cameron does with Laminar?Want XP10, buy it. Don't want it? Don't buy it. I've said it 1001 times. It really is as simple as that.Possibly I've missed the intended friendly and helpful tone.So no need for Tim to reply!?X-plane will rise of fall on its own merits. Readers can assess whether this thread enhances or detracts from potential purchasers of the software's decision to embark on an X-plane oddysseyIt may be worth considering that it is "de rigueur" to state any potential pecuniary interest if providing advice in most industries (eg Medical, Finance and Banking), and it is considered unethical in these sectors NOT to do so, so why not here?On that basis, I do some developing for ORBX, but am not a payrolled employee. 99% of my income is in another sector entirely.

Just goes to show, you have totally failed to read the lead up to that reply to m_av. Read the entire thread to get a better understanding. If you do read the entire thread, and the various others, you will see I am reciprocating his behavior. But I'm a commercial developer, so I'm not allowed to do that, am I?If you don't want to read the entire thread, then don't say something you know very little about. If you want a rational discussion, then I'm all for it. I will even explain my responses and why I made them. However, I'm not holding my breath.OrbX make a fortune and you do free work for them? You're a nicer person than I am.
December 12, 201114 yr Commercial Member You're a nicer person than I am.Feel free to attack me also, if you think there is mileage in that.Yes, much of the work I do is pro-bono. That is a fact. I like a good product, and I feel it makes the product better.

I actually gave you credit for someone who wants to research all the facts before reacting.Seems like I was wrong on that front, also.
December 12, 201114 yr Commercial Member Cheers, Goran.Having read all 3 pages of this thread, I have new insight into your interactions with the other forum posters.I'll leave you to it. You and Cameron seem to have it well in hand.

You and Cameron seem to have it well in hand.Thanks. Much appreciated!I'd like to ask a final couple of questions.Do you even HAVE X Plane? Or any payware for X Plane. You said you do free work for OrbX and you're most frequently active in the PMDG forums (Where a rather hostile, rant filled and rather critical thread about X Plane was recently locked by Ryan...but you didn't say anything about that, did you?). I'm just curious, what brings you to the X Plane forums, to jump to someones defence...after 28 posts since 2009 and never having posted in the x plane forums before?
December 12, 201114 yr To be honest-as a simmer from 1981-that is exactly as these posts appear...how sad...you should have seen the complaints we got this week...it doesn't help....and that drives me crazy cause I want xplane 10 to go forward...I have been simming from back in those days as well Geofa .... and I would like to see XPX make it. I like new things, I think its good for the hobby. I too am perplexed by the guys who stand to make money (the developers) being so none customer or potential customer focused.
December 12, 201114 yr Seriously everyone needs to take a bloody deep breath and step away from the keyboard for a while and just fly. It's a shame most current XP-related threads degenerate into **-for-tat exchanges that accomplish nothing beyond animosity between adults that should know better .**edit**As a happier side note Robert has the Oahu scenery review for his red-pen expertise. It will be up shortly I would imagine. And for the individual looking for "bush"-type scenery I have owned the Tom Curtis payware since my initial involvement in X-Plane last year and am considering it for a review project.....if ya'll can calm down a bit AVSIM Staff ReviewerBush Is Good!
December 12, 201114 yr I think the key problem here is that the 'Xplane representatives' are always attacking (from the get go) what are really quite benign and reasonable questions, it is in a sense putting everyday people off (and putting off potential purchasers)Someone once said, when you post: think not so much about the person your answering too but the other 500 people who read but do not post (the silent witnesses)This thread is a perfect example of that.Hi,I'm one of the other 500 people and i appreciate all x-plane creatives being here sharing their insight with passion and patience...Regards,Heiko

December 12, 201114 yr In fact the Carenado f33 as nice as it is in xplane does not have the visuals it does in fsx-though I love the fm....I do not have the 33 for FSX , can you tell me what visual shortcomings you`re speaking of?I ported my 33 to XP10 without problems and it looks beatifull ( except for some minor light problems wich will be solved shortly I suppose)Leen

My F33 seems to be fixed. As I explained to Geof, the only thing I can see I might have done was to change the livery once. The position lights and prop work fine now. I honestly don't know what fixed it though.
December 12, 201114 yr Today with the new patch (at least mine updated again) the prop effect problem is gone-but so is the prop effect from inside the cockpit...gone! Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
