December 14, 201114 yr Same, I seem no notice an not so much fps hit that is unbearable, but my scenery especially in my FTX area will get blurry, and I will have to pause it to let it catch up. That is with a lot of clouds or overcast though. William Sequeira
December 15, 201114 yr Thanks Stewart!I like looking for those perfect shots! And thanks guys, I'l do a but more research on overdrive, but I'm more than happy with Rex 2The NGX is such a pleasure to operate it's good to find a balance between performance and the immersion in the scenery. December 15, 201114 yr Installing REX or REX2 will not have the slightest effect on framerates unless you use HiDef res clouds. The only thing Rex does to clouds is to replace the crappy default FSX textures and so does not add or subtract anything, but only replace what is already there. However, it is a pretty common conclusion many guys don't like the HD clouds and so many still use the 1024 res clouds, including myself. Also, REX is 100% compatible with all Orbx FTX scenery It most certainly is not necessary to deactivate FTX while loading REX as was started earlier. Most of REX developers have worked with Orbx on FTX scenery and so the two companies have very close ties when it comes to scenery design and development. IMHO using REX is not a decision that needs to be considered but a priority HowardMSI Mag B650 Tomahawk MB, Ryzen7-7800X3D CPU@5ghz, Arctic AIO II 360 cooler, Nvidia RTX4090 GPU, 32gb DDR5@6000Mhz, SSD/2Tb+SSD/500Gb+OS, Corsair 1000W PSU, LG Ultragear 48"4K, MFG Crosswinds, TQ6 Throttle, Fulcrum One YokeMy FlightSim YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@skyhigh776
December 15, 201114 yr I am considering the purchase of REX.But I am a little reluctant about the loss of framerates.Any comments/experiences on that? Thanks in advance.PaulPaul,Go for it. I bought a copy of REX2 about a week ago and paid only $20 for it as it was on special. I installed with medium settings and have not noticed any drop in frame rates. What I have noticed is the major improvement in weather and sky/cloud textures, also includes new runway and taxi/apron textures which makes a big difference. There are so many options you can configure and I have only just scratched the surface. It makes flying so much more enjoyable and realistic, well worth the money in my opinion, especially if you get it for $20. December 16, 201114 yr Quite an experience. Now I know what you all meant.Great.Thanks again! Also, take a look at the other elements of the REX program. You can add "wear" to runways, make water look nicer, change the way your landing lights illuminate the ground, etc. etc. It takes quite a while to make a theme! There are so many options! Also, make sure you get Overdrive. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB

December 16, 201114 yr If you are serious about this hobby then rex 2 overdrive is a must have, just like the ngx is a must have they go hand in hand. best addons available. But with rex 2I I don't max out clouds cause thats a frame killer n some weaker computers not mine but just a heads up, and the water as well. You can sewt your own themes takes care of your wether etc go for it.
