March 2, 201214 yr The economy is getting much better and people will be more than happy to spend more money on this training when it is completed and that is why I got in on the ground floor. There's certainly no sign of that in the UK, fuel costs have just reached record breaking levels, inflation is up, salaries are slashed (mine is down 20%), businesses in my home town are closing one a week, shock waves went through our normally extremely busy town when it was announced an 82 yr old family run business has closed its doors :( Units in one of our shopping centres are 50% vacant Chris Ibbotson AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3D / MSI AMD MPG x670E Carbon Motherboard / Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5090 Gaming OC 32GB GDDR7 PCI-Express Graphics Card / Corsair DOMINATOR Titanium RGB Grey 64GB 6000MHz AMD EXPO DDR5 / NZXT C1200 Gold ATX 3.1 - Fully Modular Low-Noise PC Gaming Power Supply - 1200 Watts - 80 PLUS Gold / 48” UltraGear™ UHD 4K OLED Gaming Monitor / 40" Philips 4K LED Monitor / Honeycomb Alpha Yoke / Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant / WinWing Orion Rudder Pedals c/w dampener / WinWing Ursa Minor Airline Joystick / WinWing Airbus MCDU

Anyone who believes the economy is getting better is simply parroting the socialist line of the mainstream media and our ineffective government ... but I digress ... 25 miles to FAF, CDAP on 27R KFLL. March 2, 201214 yr Commercial Member Chris,The TCAS control head is a standard off the shelf part, no different in operation to any other TCAS controller. You could plug in a different one and it would still work. The displays and symbology have to be standard too. There's no room for confusion if a collision is imminent. GPWS is another safety system which is standardised across types for the same reason. The other things you mention are of course specific to the aircraft type. It's not my place to suggest what order you do things in and what you do in great depth, I was only making a comment as an interested bystander. I have a background in simulation and training and TCAS in particular so I couldn't keep my mouth shut. No offence meant. :smile:Best of luck with the product anyway,KevinThere is a TCAS on the 737NGX. Most simmers have never learned about TCAS and signed up to learn everything about the NGX. We're teaching them about the TCAS, which is installed on the 737. I can't be in all places at once. If you see someone is having an issue with an Angle of Attack product, or something that should be brought to my attention, please message me. I want everyone to have a stellar experience with AOA. Some manufacturing jobs are even moving back into the US. Unless fuel prices can trip things up, I believe it is a solid trend. My business has been staying quite busy also. I'm sure this trend will start showing up in Europe before too long. Robert Yunque
March 3, 201214 yr Robert, I am not sure about Europe as a whole, but some areas indeed show a small, but real growth in economy. --Peter Fabian

It's important and an intregral part of the safety systems on the NGX, so we decided to teach it, regardless of how standard it may be. In certain instances, we do go into basic details about certain things because of the environment in which we teach. We try to keep in mind that we're teaching what is largely a non-pilot audience to fly very complex machines. So, that's why a lot of the 'transponder' basics were discussed in that section. But alas, others can see that for themselves and determine whether it was useful or not. I for one think it was.American economy has been showing marked improvements with unemployment down solid numbers. Some manufacturing jobs are even moving back into the US. The government has pumped tons of cash into the system trying to get it to revive, all the while increasing regulations and liabilities for businesses. It won't last long.Is the AOA website down?Uh oh.Ha! You wish ;) You probably looked in the few seconds we were updating the website. Lucky you! Here is an audio bit from our new voice overs guy. He was doing a final 'audition' for the spot we had open up when Nick left. We're very happy with his tone, and feel it really fits AOA. Right now he's working on the Primary Flight Controls and Secondary Flight Controls scripts (two separate lessons, each about 30 minutes):http://dl.dropbox.com/u/34422/jh-flightsim%20demo2.mp3 I can't be in all places at once. March 8, 201214 yr Commercial Member Not bad, but it shows he knows not about airplanes....Not bad, but it shows he knows nothing about airplane...And? He is extremely talented at language and voice. Our job is to know the stuff that provide him with the solid script and lesson. His job will be to read it and record it, certainly that doesn't require an aviation pre-requisite.LOL!!! That part about "attitude" and when your guy says "you better land this *bleep* plane!" had me ROLLING on the ground!Way awesome. I love that he has personality. Not like other CBT crap. It is a risk over someone that actually knows what he talks about, even if just reading a script. Of course I understand that getting a good voiceover actor with airliner experience is not easy... --Peter Fabian
March 8, 201214 yr Commercial Member Well, and we will see what will come of it. It is a risk over someone that actually knows what he talks about, even if just reading a script. Of course I understand that getting a good voiceover actor with airliner experience is not easy...It's nearly impossible. The people that did have aviation experience weren't that great at all. So I'd rather have someone that is solid in their craft than have unnecessary (albiet helpful) background knowledge. If there are mistakes, we can fix those. That's not a big deal. But we have a way of operating with this guy now that works very well. Nothing should be missed, and it'll be transparent, entertaining, enjoyable and educational. I can't be in all places at once. March 8, 201214 yr Way awesome. I love that he has personality. Not like other CBT crap.Frankly, if you produced a version of training laced with curse-words and other assorted debauchery i'd be first in line.I'm thinking something along the lines of the Malcolm Tucker/Jamie McDonald of aviation training.
