February 28, 201214 yr It's currently outside my budget too .... - but, that doesn't mean that it's over-priced or not good value. Just that I can't afford it at the moment!.....it looks beautiful, and after getting Accu-Feel this month, it will be on my wish list for next month. After years of throwing 1,000s on addons, I now have a young family and am 'rationed' to only one addon per month.. :( :( Edited February 28, 201214 yr by Stick David. >> i7 2600k, 3.4Ghz, (3.8Ghz TurboBoost), 8GB DDR3 RAM, ATI HD 5770 1GB, Win 7 Home Premium 64bit. >> FSX, REX, GEX, UTX, Orbx FTX AU, NZ, US, FlyTampa, UK2000 Xtreme, PMDG, RealAir, MilViz, (some) Carenado, Flight 1, Simcheck "%20alt=
February 28, 201214 yr Looks really good, but it's a bit on the steep side for me.It is a bit pricey, but you can always take advantage of the 30-day return policy (it uses the F1 wrapper) | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
February 28, 201214 yr Buying this one while thinking "I can always return it" is sort of like going to "look at" some puppies a friend has. You know you're going home with one. Unless you really hate small GA, you're going to want to keep this one once it's on your HD.

February 28, 201214 yr Back to the clock. I think I like Pos3 best so far. I will fly around a few days with the various spots and then decide the easy road to follow if you really do need a clock for FSX. I have at least six that I can see at my desk without FSX running. duh. This will meet FAA regs. for IFR.Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
February 28, 201214 yr Commercial Member Awesome work Ray :) You’ve inspired me, it’s an interesting task. I woke this morning thinking I ought to browse over to AircraftSpruce.com and shop some IFR clocks. Another 2 ¼” instrument could easily fit on the right panel. However I understand the reg’s have limits on the locations of some IFR instruments… to keep them in the scan area. I don't know about this one. Putting a 2 ¼” clock where the Hobbs is now would look right, but might be impractical. A surface mounted clock could go wherever, I suppose. There is a structural frame behind the panel which, for builder’s sake, limits some inserted locations. There is another item; as I recall the GPS is located too far from the scan area to be IFR legal without the addition of a GPS annunciator. That'll need to be double checked. The planned location has been just over the ASI….roughly in line with the other annunciator lamps. That's your option 3 location.Danny

I have not seen their catalog in ages, but there used to be a picture of my Dad's plane in their catalog. "N1G" was Dad's N number and his name was Norm Ginn. He knew a guy the handed out the numbers back then so he got one personalized. Anyway, Dad started Aircraft Spruce and sold the business back in the 60's. I was going to call them and have them ship me a catalog but have not got around to it yet. He sold it to Bob and Flo but the brothers are running it now and have been I think for quite awhile. This was the first mention I have seen in the forums about Aircraft Spruce. They of course have added considerably to the catalog as my Dad only sold the wood which he bought from different vendors in Oregon. He sold a lot of wood back in the 60's to thousands of EAA member/builders all over the world.Bob Officially retired
February 29, 201214 yr Highly recommended.I've had the pleasure of participating in the beta and watching the aircraft go from 90% perfect to 99.9%, gold star material for sure!It is the ideal plane for me: Two seater with IFR instrumentation, best ever RXP GNS integration (3d with animated buttons..),Bert, pls share how to integrate rxp in the avionics? I can't find any switches in the setup tool. Otherwise pls share the panel.cfg entries.Much thanks,Dirk.(and btw hot to change that female pilot in my seat?) lol. February 29, 201214 yr The instructions for RXP integration can be found in an RXP folder in your RV7 folder after install. Also visit the Bay Tower Support forum for any questions!http://www.baytower.ca/phpBB2/index.php Bert

Glad you woke up inspired. Ha. Like you haven't been every morning for the last . . . . years.Really enjoying the Plane. Played around a bit with a 6A version in the wee hours last night. Like Ryan mentioned above, if the forums are fretting about a clock, the plane must be an exceptional design and build.Ray Edited February 29, 201214 yr by raymar When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
February 29, 201214 yr Commercial Member No worries Ray, working on the RV is pretty much my biggest hobby – it’s been how I enjoy using FSX ;) I try, as best I can, to roll all the insights of RV users back into the project. It’s been a fun way of working. As you know, experimental category aircraft are builder maintained. And RV’s are regularly refined and upgraded by their owners. The intension is to do some of that with the SP’s. Fitting an IFR timer seems like an apt example.Bob, it’s great to learn about your connection to Aircraft Spruce. It seems in building the name comes up constantly. The catalogue is pretty much a cornerstone. It’s funny; I’ve never made the mental connection between the name and specialized aircraft wood supplies. It’s so obvious now that you mention it.Cheers,Danny
