February 27, 201214 yr The DFII manual is a quick read...anyone that want's to master the AP should start here ;)http://www.trutrakfl...atingManual.pdfAs well, you really need to setup a CWS button for your AP to use it properly.Sweet, I'm using the default Z key atm... don't have any extra buttons available for now. I have been reading the manual as well :) | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

February 27, 201214 yr Looks great. Does it stall authentically? Can it side-slip authentically? Does it fly accurately?Any real life RV7 owners please let us know :)ThanksAdam

Yes, Yes, and yes. You should probably look at Baytower.ca for their website forums. If you read the story of this aircrafts history it will make you understand how special it is....by the way the site seems to be having problems keeping up with traffic this morning so may have to try later.....LOL Sam Prepar3D V5.3/[email protected]/EVGA 3080 TI/1000W PSU/Windows 10/40" 4K Samsung@3840x2160/ASP3D/ASCA/ORBX/ ChasePlane/General Aviation/Honeycomb Alpha+Bravo/MFG Rudder Pedals/

February 27, 201214 yr Hey I've got a legal question.... in the RV7a (the fsx version), can I use the distance readout on the garmin as DME? In other words I filed /A on vatsim right now and it just occured to me that there's no DME readout like I would normally have.Am I in the wrong for flying IFR (ok ok so it doesn't have a clock which means I fail already, but that aside?)?Also I'm learning that I really require the RXP GNS530W to fly this thing to its full potential... since I fly online... I have seen a lot of rw planes with only digital clocks. I sure thought they were legal.Ray When Pigs Fly . Ray Marshall .
February 28, 201214 yr I think the requirement is a clock set to zulu time... But im not instrument rated, so don't go by me.-G
February 28, 201214 yr I think the requirement is a clock set to zulu time... But im not instrument rated, so don't go by me.-GI'm not one either but am a controller. We issue time checks for example you depart uncontrolled field and you get a clearance void time... you'd check our time against your time... so I think you're right about the zulu thing. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

If the pilot flying wants to convert zulu time when they hear it, that's their business. I know I use local time.Hey I've got a legal question.... in the RV7a (the fsx version), can I use the distance readout on the garmin as DME? You can't use that GPS box as DME (legally) on an ILS/DME approach. February 28, 201214 yr So let me elaborate a bit deeper...Let's say the GPS is VFR only, can I file /A without DME but use GPS to show distance?(as long as I'm not flying a DME approach) Edited February 28, 201214 yr by ryanbatcund | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
February 28, 201214 yr So let me elaborate a bit deeper...Let's say the GPS is VFR only, can I file /A without DME but use GPS to show distance?(as long as I'm not flying a DME approach)Nope! Good question. The GPS must be IFR certified to use "in lieu of" DME (/G equipment code). Correct otherwise. No ILS/DME with no DME equipment on board. No VOR or NDB approaches without a VOR receiver or ADF, respectively. Or so that is my understanding. AIM 1-1-19 has a way of beating around the bush about the issue as far as I'm concerned. At time of writing. The FAA is beginning to relax these rules as newer GPS equipment is hitting market.EDIT: I had to look up the term as I had forgotten. The GPS must be at least an "A2" box. That is, IFR certified for terminal and en route procedures. February 28, 201214 yr Sweet... so I can only really file /U at the moment lol...Actually I can't file IFR at all without a clock right? And to clarify the timer on the GTX327 isn't a clock?
