Don't forget the PMDG forum. Almost everyone on there flies FSX with their NGX (and an occasional FS9'er), and they always have more than the Flight forum. Combine the PMDG forum and the FSX forum and they outnumber the Flight forum almost 2 to 1.

Given that you say

Almost everyone on there flies FSX with their NGX (and an occasional FS9'er)
you're counting "almost everyone" twice, so you'd hope the combined number would be up!Mike

right now, 37 viewing in FSX and 46 in Flight. When flight first came out it seemed to usually have about 140-150 viewing, which is usual with a new release. the numbers in flight have been steadily dropping since the first few days of its release..at least as far as viewing goes..

Actually no, we went through this last week and currently the FSX forum has 38 users viewing and simultaneously the PMDG forum has 84 users viewing (not to mention 16 at the FS2Crew forums) while the Flight forum has 45 users viewing. Not to mention it is brand new and SHOULD be attracting the most attention yet it continues to appear the most popular thing on AVSIM is the PMDG forums...Even if only 60 of the 84 in PMDG are there for FSX (not likely) and 10 in FS2crew that is still 100 + users to 45 leaving the combined FSX forums twice as busy as the Flight forums (that has no add-on forums)So no emotion involved, pure math and nothing is more popular than PMDG and FSX combined...

Stan; don’t get me wrong, but this is irrelevant. To each its own.Flight is new so many of us old simmers are here, and basically has only one forum. On the other hand FSX is “old” (no pun intended) and its information is spread over several other forums. We shall see in a couple months.(I might be new to posting, but have roamed all AVSIM’s forums for a long time.)

And undoubtedly many users like myself, alternate between the forums as well. I regularly view Flight, FSX, and the Hardware forums.I don't know about popularity - but FSX has been very popular, especially the last 2-3 years with flight simmers, especially the more hard core types. The product has been out for several years, so I would expect it to be the more popular forum. There is also a tremendous amount of tweaking, both in within FSX and outside of FSX, and that forum is a great resource for getting help on troubleshooting how to get better performance out of it, and discuss all the various add-ons that are now available for it, that took years to develop to this point.I myself have been very pleased with how this Flight Forum has turned out since release of the product , and it certainly will be interesting to know how it progresses and grows, as MS progresses and grows Flight.Thanfully we as flight simmers, have another product and another forum to enjoy!

That statement has some useful information, so actually means something. No emotion in numbers.Mike

Precisely, not emotional at all, heck I am predominantly an FS9 guy and we have 9 users viewing, how do you think that makes me feel emotionally ;)To be technical at the current moment I posted this PMDG has more users viewing than FS9, FSX and Flight combined! We are not talking hopping around, we are talking simultaneous users per forum or at least I was when I did the math...but most importantly Kabronicus Hit it on the head!!!!

LOLOLOL! I feel like a maniac compulsive. Click on Hardware Forum, scan, read every post, then FSX, then Hardware, then FS9, then Hardware, then Flight, then Hardware, then X-Plane, then hardware, then ORBX, then hardware, then messages, then hardware, right now Flight, next Hardware. I'm trapped in this endless loop! :help:What this has to do with forum counts, I don't know...

You and me both Stephen with the difference I scan a few other forums in the interim! But my routine is so set to Avsim, ApriliaForums, Airliners.net and the rest I have them organized in that specific order on my bookmarks bar from right to left. darnit I meant left to right, I always had problems with those! Just go from one to the next, lather, rinse, repeat repeat repeat and inevitably overload overload.... :)

LOL, tell me about it - you hit more forums than I do, don't know how you do that - oh and in between hitting the forums I do, of course I have to do a little flying as well! And it has nothing to do with forum counts, none of this does really...

I think it's clearly because when using Flight one doesn't have long hours on AP in which to post on the forums... "I say, I say, That's a JOKE, son..."

Good gravy someone is actually looking at the numbers of views and reading some relevence into it? There must be like 100s of FSX forums on a huge number of sites and to the best of my knowledge only one flight forum. And what would be the point of this stat - there is no competition between the game and the sim.I "monitor" flight by clicking "follow the forum" and check my emails, just to that I can see the flow of the conversation, what people are talking about. And, I chime in if it catchs my eye...like this one.Otherwise I haven't started up flight since the first couple of days and have been exclusively flight FSX since...and playing Battlefield 3...now that is challenging and exciting!
