This is a global community, you do know, right? There are folks here who lost relatives to the actions of that individual and his associates. I think it is pretty insensitive to bring that name up for ANY reason.

Apologies, Tom, but speaking as one of those individuals, I'm going to have to disagree with you here. While some references to a really bad dude can obviously be offensive, many are simply informative. I have a fairly large shelf of books about a really bad dude and the ###### period, and have spent a fair amount of time on the subject, including my thesis work as an undergrad. I'd hate to see a really bad dude the individual or Nazism as a subject banned completely. Discussion about a really bad dude, the ##### and the whole period is too useful and too informative to simply shut down. And some of that discussion makes sense here on Avsim, where there are a number of people involved in aviation history, which connects to military history, which connects to... you know how it goes.Actually, I also love the Downfall meme, but that's just me.Any chance that bans can remain context-sensitive?EDIT: Has Herr H. now been automatically translated into "a really bad dude?"
