March 29, 201214 yr Welcome to the forum, Frank.I started with FS1 on a floppy disk (for those who do not remember, or were not born at that time) I bought it in 1988 on an Amstrad 1640 PC. Still have the disk, and the manual. That's some 24 years ago .....I've bought every edition since, including many of the scenery floppies which were available at about that time - all they contained were river and runways - the remainder was blank space.Created my 'local' airfield for FSX, and enjoying it.Since my first PC, which I bought for Flight Simulator, I've spent over £23k on various computers and accessories - FS being my primary reason for keeping up to date with hardware.So try and negotiate an increase in your pocket money - you'll need it !I'm a lad aged 73..My PC specs are below.It's a great hobby - and you'll meet many experts on these forums. Closest to scenery developing is creating new grass runway textures :P I'm 13, and I'll bet there's a ton more of us here. Always been passionate for aviation, it's basically 95% of my life haha :P Even taken a few lessons in an ultralight (trike to be specific). I like my toys (-:
