Simroutes Down?
So now I'm not getting a server unavailable message but just something that says "simroutes.com" in the top left of the page. Idk if this is good, bad or pointless news.

Simroutes Down?
Anyone know any others that work for X-Plane as well?

Best airliner virtual cockpit out right now?
I haven't shelled out the money for a PMDG plane yet, but my personal favorite is the QW Bae 146

KVNY Van Nuys Scenery?
That documentary was awesome. Such a great thing to watch, i've seen it 2 or 3 times now Van Nuys has turned from an airport built for purpose into an airport built for those who love the skies.... and still some purpose in there too haha

KVNY Van Nuys Scenery?
Sweet, I'm glad about that. Especially since LLH Sim has a pretty decent Courchevel out there already.

KVNY Van Nuys Scenery?
Haven't heard that! That would be awesome! Van Nuys is such an 'impacting' airport in the aviation world, and I'm surprised a developer hasn't tackled the scenery yet.

Flight from Coffs Harbour, AU (YCFS) to Lord Howe's Island (YLHI)
I know, the 146 is way up there with my favorites! And no, I've never flown in full screen.

- Flight from Coffs Harbour, AU (YCFS) to Lord Howe's Island (YLHI)
Enjoy these photos of a flight from Coffs Harbour (YCFS) to Lord Howe's Island (YLHI). One of my favorite short hops, and the landing and take off proved quite a challenge in the Avro RJ100! I used QualityWings Bae 146, along with ORBX Coffs Harbour and Aerosoft's Lord Howe's.- Not plausible anymore
"Speedbird 69, please contact tower on 118.1... or was it the tower on 113.4.... or 117.95... Actually just wave at the guys in the nearest tower when you're ready to take off. Yeah that'll work".- How do you attach pictures from your hard drive?
Thank you, incredibly helpful!- Worth it?
Neither are ideal. In fact, far from ideal. In a perfect world we would get the lighting, environmental "effects", and flight dynamics and whatnot from X-Plane while attaining the community, addons and layout from FSX. And textures from Orbx- How do you attach pictures from your hard drive?
So I just took a nice flight today and got some awesome pictures that I would like to upload to the forums. I only see the option to upload via URL, and I don't really want to find a website and upload all of my pictures in order to get them on here. Does that function exist?- Corfu X
- Worth it?
I personally dislike the way aircrafts handle (although with a joystick it isn't as bad), and even with addons the sim doesn't look as nice as addons in FSX. While the lighting is slightly more realistic in X-Plane, I feel there is a constant shadow over everything, and flying gets a little dreary even. There are some great things about it, but I'm not ready to make any permanent changes yet. I'm going to still be stuck on FSX for at least another year and then switch over to I believe P3D, but we'll see where that goes.- The 'FAA Approved' Version of Santa's Sleigh
Saw this photo, and in the Christmas spirit had to post this:     Happy Boxing Day!- F-Sim Atlantis Shuttle landing sim.
I got this application the 2nd week it came out, and it has gone very, very far!! This along with InfiniteFlight are my 2 favorite flight sim mobile apps. The new (well, I guess the feature's 8 months old now) external views/replay function are a fantastic addition. The scenery around the airfields also looks amazing. It really should be extremely popular. It would be super cool if the same company started branching out doing similar types of apps but with different aircraft/airports.- Delta 727-200 from NY to SAN
Great shots!! The oldest plane I dare to fly on commercial flights is the MD-80 series. I'm into the newer things (I'm flying a 787 from Hamburg to Berlin Tegel as I write this ), but still, looks fantastic.- Helicopters on rooftops
Wow!! That definitely does NOT look like the default scenery, nice find.- Caribbean Scenery
The "famous" Caribbean scenery for FSX (which is truly awesome) would be FlyTampa's St. Maarten, which comes with the famous Princess Juliana intl., the famous St. Barts airport, and the famous SABA airport. All of those are credited with their insane approaches/runways/location and are truly amazingly designed and so much fun. Another great scenery by FlyTampa is the FlyTampa Grenadines, which is a collection of 6 or so islands and airports which are around 200(?) miles south of St. Maarten... I think. Payware, of course. Another GREAT payware scenery company is LatinVFR, which has multiple sceneries in the Carribbean including Trinidad, Tobago, and Jamaica to name a few. Truly amazing sceneries as well.- We are all OK!
Just woke up to Dec 21st in HK and the birds are chirping and the sun is shining.- What and where did you fly today?
So how was your daily flight? Flight sim stories or real life! Both flights were on QualityWings' Bae-146. I was messing around with Drzewiecki Design Miami and flew a (very) short flight from Opa-Locka to Kendell-Tamiami, but something messed up with the ILS landing on final, as the plane was still 300 ft above the runway over the threshold and since the runway is so short I had to go around. All ended well as I went around and requested the visual approach. Next flight I flew from Crown Point, Tobago to St. Maarten, using LatinVFR's Crown Point and of course FlyTampa's St. Maarten. Took a little while cruising along at FL300 but it was worth it. As I was on base I was ripping my hair out as I over-ran the turning point to turn final because the ATC wasn't working so well. Minor corrections and managed to get the approach back on track and landed perfectly, right on the centerline. Tomorrow I plan on fooling around with some VFR flight around Miami and finally tackling the St. Maarten - Miami flight in Aerosim's 787. It's upwards of 3 hours but I think it will be fairly interesting along the way! Some time in the future I plan on doing a group of German flights, with short hauls from Berlin to Hamburg, Hamburg to Lubeck and Padderborn and also doing a couple Air Hamburg flights from Hamburg to Helgoland in the Bn-2.- What now, Microsoft?
Someone never got the memo, lol. Microsoft is out of the flightsim business, MS shut down the sector that made flight sims. It's very sad, but after the release of Microsoft Flight I'm not so sure that Microsoft would have done a good job anyway haha (well, I'm sure different people worked on Flight). And I agree with X-Plane, I have tried it and used it for months at a time and after every use I come back to the same conclusion: I hate it. I find it absolutely blech. So far, the only glimmer of hope is P3D, which actually looks very captivating. As long as it has good interface and is fairly "open" to tweaking and addons and what not, I think P3D would be the way to go.- Excited You folks are going to do an MU-2
A very popular MU-2 payware addon was released for X-Plane a while ago and people were calling it "the best X-Plane addon ever made" and some were arguing it was better than any FSX addon. I tried it and yeesh, it was gross. Ever since then I've been longing for a nice looking MU-2 for FS - Flight from Coffs Harbour, AU (YCFS) to Lord Howe's Island (YLHI)
