I tried the link that I had and it does not appear to be active. It did say "you don't have permission", but that might just be a bug in the forum code.

Here is the link to their homepage. I did not check if they had a forum.

Haha, yeah super long replies to simple questions that left us still wondering what they heck they are actually developing. They need to hire a PR guy who can break it down into simple explainations of what their program will do, otherwise people are just as confused when they leave their forum as they were when they arrived.

They need to hire a PR guy

Hello

They need to hire some market research folk first,

The solution is TestPilot:

Utilizing 200 million flight simulation enthusiasts from around the world to perform flight test activities, the strictest of airliner certification regulations, known as level A, could be accomplished in as little as 5 hours of flight testing by each participant.

If there are really 200 million of us you have to wonder why MS did not make FS11Just%20Kidding.gif

Come on give the guy a break. In his numbers he was including all the new folks that MS expects to bring in through "Flight"

Thank You and :hi: Good day Sir.

Agree. After reading his proposal, he might just turn out to be the "Derek Smart" of flight sim software.

Hello everyone,

As mentioned in the "10th Aerosoft German FS Conference summary" forum post:

"Since Friday's announcement, we have had discussions/proposals from several established flight simulation publishers."

We have spent the last 3 weeks in negotiations with a company who wished to acquire Coanda Aerospace Consulting GmbH, to develop a quote "signature flight simulator".

These talks have now ended, as we identified as "non negotiable" the release of all source code, should the end product's development or sales cease at any point.

We learned a great deal during this process, and we will be making changes to our strategy as a result.

We thought people would want more information, and not less. We did not fully appreciate the stupefying effects of Google / Facebook / Zynga.

People seek out "plug and play" single purpose products of less complexity. Flexibility to tailor a product to conform to your "own needs" is now seen to be "too confusing".

Dramatically shortened attention spans have tuned consumers to short focused sales pitches "absent of substance", exhibiting all of the classic symptoms of addiction and

"stockholm syndrome". Companies now seek to actively exploit this weakness.

How Wasteland 2 Went From Hopeless to Half a Million in 24 Hours

http://kotaku.com/58...ion-in-24-hours

A majority of people used to be attracted to intellectual challenges, and now the majority want a mindless distraction which helps them to cope with life stress.

The vCFI is what is drawing the most attention, because it allows someone to enjoy flying and accomplish a complex skill, in small steps, learning when they have the time.

A small minority of people now have the time to dedicate to learning anything of the level of complexity of flying a plane, which explains the dramatic (80% AOPA) dropout rate

in private pilot flight training.

This does not bode well for the long term sustainability of flight simulation, in the absence of a vCFI approach (ie.. Microsoft Flight, X-Plane, Prepar3D).

Once we have cleared all of the remaining deferred inquiries due to negotiations, we will be establishing our own forum presence.

Please click the "follow this topic" button at the top right hand corner of this page to stay informed about future updates.

We will post any new information here first. As well as at the blog at http://coandaaero.wordpress.com

Thank you for your continued interest and support!

Anyone any the wiser now?

From what I picked up from reading before, is the idea basically a browser-based flight sim platform? Is that possible graphics-wise to develop something with similar graphics quality to the desktop flight sims? Sorry if im being dumb!

Nope!

Another huge post saying nothing other than a full fledged flight simulator won't sell well and Microsoft were right all along with the strategy for FLIGHT. That's pretty much all i took from it........oh, and people nowadays are stupid apparently.

People on this forum are looking for a full simulator....not another Flight type program or vCFI or whatever it's called.

Whatever interest there was in this from this forum will probably now disappear, although I don't think many of us really ever understood what this was all about in the first place!
